There weren't any cockroaches here. Normally a good thing, right? It is probably because even *they* wouldn't stay here. I pulled up at about 1 am, road weary after 14 hours driving. The front desk person was rude, cut me off about 5 different times while I was talking, and I am almost 99% sure someone staying in the building taped the door open to let whoever they want in, which is scary. Like others said, there are cigarette burns on the sheets and the bed, holes and stains prominently all over the walls, the AC doesn't work, and the hallways somehow smell like cold cuts. So I have a TV but it doesn't get any reception. I just use it to watch DVDs. I wanted to watch the NFL conference finals games but I barely know anyone into football and thanks to that rascally 'Rona bars and restaurants are carry out only in Michigan. So I decided to take a weekend road trip. Maybe I'd find a B Dubs or something to watch the games. Maybe I'd just watch em in a cheap hotel room. Either way I did feel like getting out of dodge for a minute. I never took a vacation last year beyond day trips to Toledo and up to the Thumb to go swim in Lake Huron. And I'd seen a lot of pics on Instagram of people living it up far from home enjoying that stimmy and enhanced unemployment money. I originally wanted to go to Buffalo to see drunk jackasses do flying piledrivers into folding tables. And I say drunk jackasses in the most respectful way possible; I was #BillsMafia til the KC juggernaut ended their season. But NY COVID travel regulations put the kibosh on that. So I settled on Cleveland. This Super 8 put me up for a couple nights. It was quiet and nondescript. The location between Cleveland and Akron was convenient as I had things I wanted to see in both places. They were out of singles but doubles were the same price. Less than $110 for two nights wasn't bad at all. Check in was quick, the room was clean and most important the TV was in working order. The AC unit by the window had a heater too and though the room was slightly chilly whenever I got in it got it nice and toasty fairly quickly. My only real complaint is my access card was temperamental. It didn't want to work on the back or side doors and the back lot is where most of the parking is here. I could also look out my second floor window if I wanted to check on my vehicle if it was in that lot. And on the afternoon of my second night it didn't want to get that green light to go on in the door of room 212 when I climbed the stairs with Thai carry out in hand to watch some Concussion Ball. I had to go back down to the front desk to get my card juiced up for the second night. The clerk did this quickly so it was just a small inconvenience. It was nothing exotic but I did enjoy my short stay in Bizarro Detroit, getting lots of pics of similar but different modern urban ruins in the snowy splendor. And this hotel did it's job, not making too much of an impression on me either way - and that's not a bad thing. read more

We checked in pretty late at night/early in the morning after completing the first leg of our road trip to the Midwest. Initially, check-in was normal/uneventful. We received our key card and entered the room with our two small children only to find that it was not the room I reserved. I returned to the front desk to call the attendant less than 3 minutes after check-in. He was incredibly dismissive and rude over the phone. He cut me off multiple times while I was explaining to him that there was a mistake with the room. He then assumed that I made reservations using Expedia (I made them through the Super 8 website) and accused me of calling him a liar about the room. It was an intense back and forth conversation over the phone. It was even worse in person. He yelled at me in the lobby. I yelled back. I attempted to show him the email from super 8 about the room I reserved, to which he responded "this is bullish*t!" After reminding him that I'm the customer, that I'm not "calling Expedia", and that we'll resolve things now, he then behaved as if "finding a room" with two queens beds (my reserved room) was some favor to me and my family. The cherry on top was that the room wasn't nice enough for all of the yelling that occurred. The comforter had cigarette burns, the tub was stained, the pillows were thin, and the floor needed to be vacuumed. Save the trouble and stay someplace else. read more

Didn't even stay for 5 minutes. The whole building is dilapidated. Hallways & elevator look like a horror movie scene. Burnt out lights in the long, dark hallway, made it even more creepy. Room was barely cleaned: trash on floor, crud in the bathroom, stuff from previous room guest. I'm sure there were bed bugs. I'd spend the extra few bucks and go across the street to the Hampton inn or the quality inn. read more

My truck is in the shoo at kenworth and I picked this location because they have a shuttle service. I got picked up wonderful evening service. I stood on second floor... Wall super thin...the ppl above me moved around the room till one in the morning... Kids yelling to the rooms and parents finally said something when they were to thier door which was across the way from me... Fml... Very cheap breakfast. One star for shuttle service with a smile. read more

Average hotel. Overall clean, with a few minor stains on the chair and carpets. Pet friendly for a fee. While walking my dog - three times - I noticed the local police running tags of everyone in the lots. Not sure if this is a common practice for this area, or if they were looking for someone, but this was very off putting and made us feel unsafe. Wi-Fi was slow, but workable. I can imagine it running very slow if the hotel were busier. Staff I'd say were average. Seemingly only worked here for a job, and not genuinely interested in customer service. Location is fine, just off the toll road. Plenty of parking in front and back of the hotel. Stayed one night but were happy to move along. read more

Wyndham would be doing the traveling public a favor by revoking their license with this establishment. Had an 8 night stay here and it sucked starting with the day I made my reservations. Called the hotel 5 months early knowing that I had firm plans to be in the Cleveland area. First person I spoke with suggested that I call back in the morning because the morning Manager would give me a weekly rate. So I did and was offered a weekly rate but then he refused to reserve my room even though I offered to pay in full. Said to call back 1 - 2 months before my scheduled arrival. Called back as suggested and now I am being told that they do not offer weekly rates. I was in town for a national USBC Bowling Tournament and every hotel was sold out since I waited. Now I am stuck paying the current rate of $430 instead of the $180 that I was quoted. I mentioned the name of the person that I spoke with previously and now they are playing dumb. Fast forward to check-in and now I find out that each nightly stay was based on a VARIABLE RATE. Too tired to argue after a 5 hour drive and stuck with no other hotel options. I thought that would be the worst possible experience but boy was I wrong. Housekeeping was a hit or miss. Only 2 nights did I return to my room where the bed was made. 3 nights I had to go hunt down clean towels; 2 nights I had to hunt down someone to remove the garbage from my room; the room was only vacuumed TWICE IN 8 NIGHTS; on one day garbage lined both sides of the hallway for over 4 hours until I mentioned it to housekeeping who happened to step off the elevator as I was headed downstairs to get the missing towels, she was very apologetic and quickly vacuumed my room, removed the garbage and provided me with clean towels. This was around 4PM when most other hotels would have been done. It does not appear as if anyone cleaned the bathroom the entire stay. There were toilet stains under the seat and around the toilet bowl. Seems as if housekeeping was more concerned with collecting soiled towels because it was obvious that they were not prepared to handle a full capacity house. There was a time I felt that my towels were refolded because the big yellow stain made it quite obvious. The sliding window to my room would not close all the way. There were TWO DEFECTIVE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS in my room because I could hear the electrical arc if I moved the bed the wrong way. Told all this to the night Manager and was told that she would contact everyone involved. Guess what??? NO ONE HAS SPOKEN WITH ME YET!!! The lobby and hallway smelled because of the lack of air conditioning. The only air movement was from the wind through the open hallway windows. The lobby smelled of burnt towels because the laundry room was behind the reception desk. The free breakfast offered was for toast; waffles; cereal or oatmeal. The outside of this "hotel" sucked because the sign was hard to see and if you were lucky to see it, then you had to look for a driveway because both sides of the curb lacked any decent lighting or markings. Night driving made it worse. Landscaping including weed removal wouldn't help the visual effects. The long "buckled" driveway with the gaping hole by the sewer grate was huge. The parking lot was not any better, resealing the blacktop to give it a refreshed look wouldn't hurt. At least Richfield is a safe area to be in according to the online crime data. And this "hotel" and the 4 other nearby hotels are located next to the Ohio Turnpike. read more

Other hotels had no vacancies - only this dingy, stinky, gloomy Super 8. Some of the walls looked as if they had been fingerprint dusted. The entire hotel reeked of undiscernible food. Everything screamed unclean, unsafe and undesirable. I can't remember another hotel I have stayed in that compared to this wretched excuse place. read more

Stayed here to spend a weekend exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park, wish I would have paid extra to stay somewhere else. Check-in and out were smooth but everything else was not. In our room we had stained towels. When we asked for different towels we were told they were unavailable but they'd bring some to the room later. Went out to dinner and when we came back we had different towels, but they still had stains on them (in pictures). We were also staying in a non-smoking room and the bed sheets on one of the beds had cigarette burns on it (in pictures). Around 6:00 we asked for pool towels because the pool said to get them from the front desk, and were told there were no towels. On the second night our bathroom began to smell of cigarette smoke. I would expect issues like these to arise from a hotel that was cheap to stay at, but for the price you can stay at much nicer surrounding area hotels. read more

Gross!!! We checked in, the smell as soon as you walk in was awful, room smell was worse. Stains on sheets & burn holes on bedding. We debated going elsewhere and wasn't even check in for half an hour. When we tried to leave, Ethan, would only try and change our room which would not have helped. He would not allow a refund because it was more than 10 minutes but less than 30 minutes for sure. We checked in across street at Days Inn & even got an upgrade. read more

My room card was only encoded for 1 night when I was staying 3. I couldn't sleep the whole first night. People were treating it like it was a truck stop. Elevator dinging at every hour in the morning and people constantly running up and down the hall. The person above me was walking around from 4:30 am-8 am. I finally fell asleep and wake up to another guest shouting bad language. The WiFi was horrible cause it kept disconnecting me. The sink wasn't cleaned along with the mirror and the room had a weird smell almost like someone smoked in a non-smoking room. Parking in the back is not very well lit and the back door seemed like it was broke. Not to mention the reason I booked the hotel, the whirlpool was broken and the bathrooms at the pool were in horrible shape too. I tried to take a nap on Sunday but the housekeeper was still working on rooms after 3 pm because she was really slow. On my last night a guest was running around like a heard of elephants at 4:30 am so I went to the desk and complained. No one told housekeeping that I had a late checkout at noon so they came knocking at 11 am. Not to mention the housekeepers came around and were talking very loudly at 9 am. Not a great place to sleep. I recommend staying else where and not worth the price paid. read more
