This is my stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham Salmon. BREAKFAST: they didn't have any waffles, but no problem!! The breakfast potatoes and the hot chocolate tasted oh so good honestly you should try the breakfast. It's really really yummy and tasty. Wi-Fi: it is so GOOD The Wi-Fi is perfect. It never went out and it stayed at a strong signal. Room: the room was so Big it had such a big TV. The bathroom was very big and the shower was very nice and felt really good. The room is also very clean. Sleep/Bed: we got such a good amount of sleep probably got like eight or nine hours of sleep. The bed did not sink. The bed was very very comfy. I recommend the bed. Other things to add: this hotel was looking crisp and it was very, very cool and very nice. I recommend this place if you love to go to bed. And you like to go to sleep. read more

Very overpriced and the clerk was extremely rude. At one point in the evening I had to come to the lobby to ask her a question. She was laying on one of the couches with her shoes off playing on her phone. She never got up or looked away from her phone to assist me. Lazy, rude, unprofessional. We stayed Sunday night on Lanor Day Weekend. We were coming from Jackson hole and we called the day before to make reservations. We were towing our cargo trailer with our Harley inside and we made sure that they had room for our truck and trailer. Upon arriving, we were told that we could park behind on the corner there was plenty of room. When we gotTo that area it was filled with four cars. So we went a little further and there was plenty of spaces so we pulled in there. We asked the front desk where we could eat and they directed us to a restaurant a few minutes away walking. We arrived at the restaurant, ordered our meals and waited over an hour. When the food arrived, my husband received a phone call from the front desk clerk stating we has to move our vehicle. We quickly finished our meal and walked back to the motel. When we arrived we questioned why we had to move. She said we were taking up for spaces and they needed every space because they were booked. She suggested we park next door down the hill at the bank and we refused to do that because we had our Harley in the trailer. Additionally my husband has disabled plates and we had an issue walking to the restaurant already. When we told her we had disabled plates she told us we could park in the disabled space if we backed in. So we moved it there. Next to us was a truck parked in a handicapped area with no disabled plates and he was taking a part of the other disabled space. We went to the front desk and reported that and told her she needed to ask the person to move. We observed a truck that appeared to be a worker parked as close as he could get to our vehicle as if he was upset that we parked in the original area. First, it made no sense for the clerk to ask us to move because she needed all parking spaces since the area she initially directed us to would be taking up 4 spaces and the area we subsequently parked took up 4 spaces. Additionally, I woke at 2:45 am and there was absolutely no one parked in the back and at 6:30 am there were only 2 vehicles parked in the back. It appears one of the other long term Pattons didn't like where we were parked and complained so the clerk decided to upset our dinner and go through the trouble of moving our vehicles to simply satisfy a favorite patron. Not very good customer service. I gave this 3 stars because the room was clean (except the carpet) and the toilet seat was loose. read more

Salmon is lucky to have this Super 8. The hotel is super clean, staff have a great sense of humor and are extraordinarily knowledgeable, friendly ( it's Idaho so that's normal), and go out of their way to be helpful. The rooms in the ground floor have sliding doors which offer lots of light or star viewing, as well as ease of access to vehicle or to take the dog out. The location is adjacent to the town- a short walk over the river by the main bridge or over the special walking bridge brings one to the town that has lots to offer. We got spectacular takeout from the Junkyard Bistro( recommendation from a staff person at the Suoer 8). There are lots of shops and a farmers market.There is also a 24 hour fantastic car wash in the town. read more

No real view of the mountains from our side of the hotel like we were told BUT we were right off a branch of the river by a few feet,so wonderful relaxing rivernoise and smell to sleep by. The breakfast was bland without any options for vegetarians outside of some oddly salty pancakes. Everything else ran out very fast and wasn't replaced but there was a new staff member the week we were there so I'll assume it's that. Overall it was clean, professional and friendly. The rather bland location (which is saying a lot for such a scenic area) and so/so breakfast shouldnt be highlights considering quality and price of the rooms. For a basic no real frills stay it works well,tho. read more

I'm very concerned about cleanliness when it comes to hotels. So first, let me say, this is the cleanest hotel in Salmon (not including the Bed & Breakfast places). Pros: Nice, clean rooms; new bedding, new towels, clean bathrooms, little fridge and blowdryer in room. Air conditioner worked great! Great lobby area with breakfast tables and coffee/tea 24hrs. Convenient parking. Cons: For a newly renovated hotel, they should have spent the money to rip out old carpet and put in laminate flooring in rooms- old carpet is gross! Yes, it has been recently cleaned but still, this stuff freaks me out and I only wore socks or shoes in room. Breakfast is included but only served til 9am daily (including weekends). Come on, who wakes up before 9a on a weekend when you're on vacation? All in all, I would recommend this hotel as a clean, simple hotel. Very nice customer service! Not really impressed. We've stayed here before and they were really nice and accommodating but this time not so much. We left our room before 10am so they could clean it. We took the "do not disturb" sign off our door. We came back around 1:30pm and they still hadn't cleaned our room. The janitor closet was right outside our room in the hall and it was opened when we left and also when we returned. We were there maybe 5-10 minutes and left again hoping it would be clean when we came back. It wasn't and we needed more towels. We called the front desk and they weren't concerned as to why the room hadn't been cleaned. They said if we wanted towels, we had to go to the front desk to get them. Any other motel would have been glad to bring them to the room. We won't be staying there again. Very poor service. read more

Wow! I can't say that I was super thrilled thinking of spending the night at a super 8 in a tiny town but I was pleasantly surprised!!! It was so nice! The owner was so kind and accommodating! He made sure he was there when we got in that evening and there he was in the morning insisting we eat at the continental breakfast to start our day! Even offering to clean our coffee cups! The rooms were very clean! And the beds were ver comfortable! I would recommend this hotel to anybody that needed somewhere to stay on Salmon. Getting a good night's ready here was a joy! read more

Stayed 3 nights. Room clean and updated. ADA room so folding bench in shower/tub. Has iron/board, hair dryer, fridge, microwave. Has front door to hall and back sliding glass door very convenient. Can park near back door! Breakfast area small but works fine. Some hot items such as eggs, sausage, potatoes! Breakfast ends at 9 am and they are serious about that. Desk clerk also does breakfast and had unpleasant interchange with guest that was 5-10 minutes late. read more

Wow! I think of Super 8's generally as not nice. But... This was great! Spotless, neat, even new-looking, very nice service, quiet night stay, and a breakfast much beyond coffee and premade pastries that I expected. They had those Belgian waffles you cook in the metal thing, coffees, OJ and apple juice, teas, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, toast/jelly, premade cinnamon roll, and yogurts. Woot! The gent at check-in gave us restaurant recommendations, a menu, and some gift cards for a free beer at a local restaurant. Very helpful and nice service. Free WiFi... Walkable easily to downtown/restaurants... Flat screen TVs... Room enough to set up our baby's pack n play in the double queen room... I can't believe I'm giving 5 stars to a super8... But it knocked my socks off. P.S. My folks had previously stayed at the Stagecoach Inn a few times and apparently it was dirty and this was much better. FYI. read more

We stayed for 6 days and they were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was just enough (eggs not great) but everything else was wonderful for the price. Had a good night sleep before the salmon river trip. We only stayed one night had three rooms for 110 a pice not bad. We got in really late and They checked us in quickly. I went to bed early and my roommates stayed up. At some point I the night the keys stopped working and the front desk replaced them no problem. Also my roommates called down for the internet code at 2 am and they were helpful and nice. In the morning we woke and had some coffee and free breakfast watched the news. We clocked out just before eleven. I would stay again before another trip down the almond river read more

As I walked in to hear about their availability the front desk person said yes, we have one room left and it's $ 119.00 I thought this was a bit pricey so I turned around to leave, but he called me back and said, we can charge you $ 99.00. I was a bit perplexed as you usually don't expect a big chain like Super 8 to bargain.! I said, let me just run it by my husband who is waiting in the car. The clerk then said, we can do it for $ 89.00 but that's the lowest we can go. This irritated me and I said to him, why don't you just give me the price once and for all instead of wasting my time. He said this is company policy in order to get the highest price! Hard to believe! Anyway we were tired and for 89.00 plus tax the room was ok. read more

Not impressed. Spent 3 nights, 2 nights in a king bed that was hard as a rock, moved on the 3rd night and the bed was better but there was a youth sports team there running up and down the hall for 2 hours. I asked the kids twice, not to run and fortunately at 9pm it quieted down enough to sleep. What had me moved to a different room was waking up to the overwhelming smell of breakfast being cooked at 5am. The 2nd room was further away but the smell still woke me up at 5. The breakfast looked good but the sausage was way to salty. I ate breakfast in town. The Stagecoach Inn was just slightly better accommodations but we will stay at Stagecoach next time we have to go to Salmon for medical services. As an aside, if you need handicap rooms, be forwarned, they're not ADA compliant, toilets sit very low. read more

First they booked me into a $100 room that hadn't been cleaned at all. After I had stayed for a week, they informed me that I owed $600 that had already been paid. Then when I asked to speak to the manager about the confusion before any further charges would be made to my credit card, they threatened to call the police for failure to pay. It was absolutely ridiculous customer service. Terrible experience for me. read more

I can not say enough about how friendly the staff was. The rooms are on the small side but very very clean. The bathroom has a fan, something that has been lacking at other places I have visited. We slept in a room with a king bed. My wife said the mattress was to firm, however it was comfortable for me. The price was fair and the breakfast was really nice. If you plan on having people sleep on the floor, be warned they are not on the soft side so a quilt or sleeping bag would be helpful. The only critical feedback on our stay is that the TV was smaller and on the same level as the bed. So laying down you are looking past your feet. A simple fix for this would be to mount the TV on the walk. :) read more

Our stay was very enjoyable although short. This hotel is newly renovated and very charming. We stayed in a double room complete with a flat screen tv with cable as well as WiFi. On the plus side, the room also featured a mini fridge and microwave, a much better option then filling the sink with ice to keep our beverages cool (they also offer an ice machine). They offer a free breakfast with stay complete with make your own Belgium waffles which were fluffy and delicious. If you're looking for a decently priced hotel close to main street and an array of restaurants, this is a great option! read more
