RUDE and a terrible experience! Flew in only stayed here because it was close to an appointment I had otherwise this would not be my first choice because the room was dirty and smelled badly, but it was late and I needed a place after a long day of travel. NEVER again, the night clerk was ok - but the bald clerk in the day was awful and began yelling at me (a paying customer!) Cut my stay short and went elsewhere. Horrible experience! We drove from Phoenix to Texas. I made a reservation in advance for a week. I get here and they ask do I have pets. Yes service animals. Then they proceeded to say I can't stay but 2 days!? What? That was not posted on their website or Expedia's website. Expedia has no clue this was a thing! After driving hours just to be told this I was I was so mad! I went to my car and tried to figure out where I going to stay for the night! I finally came to Hilton and zero questions about my service animals! This super 8 has no business being part of Wyndham hotels! Horrible people and trust me they didn't even care that I drove in from another state! No respect for people with disabilities. They argued with Expedia too! Thank God I was given a refund. Coming off the road and super tired as we had not slept in about 36 hours, the couple running the hotel was super accommodating and generally concerned about us getting a quiet place to rest. They allowed an early check in, which most places will not do anymore, and made sure we did not have to do anything but get to the room and fall into bed. Don't ever stay HERE! The management would not allow a service dog to stay with me in room. Management became extremely aggressive and asked us to leave. I showed my dogs service papers but that would not suffice. These crooks charged me 97.00 room, 57.00 and an additional 157.00. Not sure why! Very Dirty, lots of men hanging around the parking lot smoking/ drinking etc. didn't feel safe. Not a great combination. La Quinta, was very nice and clean. Right outside of our room a group of slightly frightening men were "tailgating" for what ended up lasting all evening and all night. Upon walking into what we were told was our non-smoking room, we were greeted by a funky cigar smell that was embedded in everything, including the linens. The shower leaked everywhere, making the bathroom floor extremely hazardous. The bathroom was full of live crickets. The toilet was cracked and the door had a hole in it. I realized later this is probably a result of the fact that when you lock the bathroom door you get stuck in there. After returning to the room later that night, we found that our key had been deactivated. Went to the office, which was locked, and rang a bell until the attendant seemingly woke up from the back to assist us, with distain. I was prepared to just accept that I had been completely ripped off, as I paid $170 for a single king bed room, until we found our microwave didn't work. Called down to the same angry night attendant to see if we could switch it out as we hasn't eaten and were famished. Her response was "You can't just wait until tomorrow to eat? Why? It's late anyway!!" I WAS IRATE. As a night worker I have an odd schedule. And as an employee of the customer service industry, I was astonished! WOULDN'T SUGGEST TO MY WORST ENEMY. SAVE YOUR MONEY. We needed a place to stay the night, to avoid the tornadoes flying through the area! Yikes! We've had nice experiences with Super 8 in the past, so we stopped in. The room was clean and didn't stink, so that was good. However, the problems with the room out weigh the good. One lamp light didn't work properly, we had to keep adjusting the bulb. The vent fan in the bathroom did not work. The flapper in the toilet was broken, so every time we flushed, we had to reach in the tank and replace the flapper. When we woke up, we found small, red bugs in the bed! ACK!!! But they weren't biting us, they were just there. *shudder* Upon checkout, we told the lady behind the counter about all of our concerns. She said thank you for telling me so I can get it fixed. She did not and would not refund our money. :P So I do NOT recommend this place. Unless they clean it up and fix stuff. :/ read more

Room was descent and clean, hot water and a/c unit will only reach certain temps, not good for a hot shower or a super cold room. The place is priced cheaper than any of the other hotels in the area, which is why we stayed here. The customer service could use some work, unless rudeness is normal. Crickets, roaches, earwigs, dirty room, a mystery pill on the ground, with an incredibly rude staff. Read on... I checked into the Super 8 at around 7:00PM, showered, and went to dinner. Aside from having to kill an earwig, the room was otherwise acceptable for the price. When I returned I stepped on a large cricket - killing it. Upon closer inspection behind the bed and around the furniture I discovered: crickets, roaches, a pill beside the refrigerator, and several beer bottle caps. Clearly little attention had ben paid to the cleanliness of the rooms at this location. I then went to the font desk and let them know that these conditions were not acceptable and wanted to leave. There was a team of three at the front desk - two men and a woman - who became defensive and accused me of scamming the hotel because I did not bring the matter to their attention sooner. Where I was expecting an apology or a willingness to correct the condition I was instead received hostility and excuses from the staff. First I was accused of being a liar because "there were no earwigs". Then one of the men (an older Indian gentleman) let me know that it was an "act of God" and "crickets were in season" then went on to say that "every room has crickets". After a brief argument the Indian gentleman and the younger man followed me to my room to see proof of the earwig by inspecting the remains. They came to my room, looked at it, an said that "it was just a few flecks of paint". I then asked them to leave the room. As an aside I booked the reservation through Priceline so I truly believe that they did not have the ability to refund and am not assigning any fault for this. I am writing the review because of the poor conditions of the room, lack of attention to basic details, and overall rudeness of the staff. There are MANY other hotels in this area - I strongly recommend that you select a cleaner location with a more professional staff. I ended up just leaving and driving home late after an otherwise great day at Schlitterbahn. read more

This motel was $50 less per night then the other three in the area and turned out to be a great choice. The room had a king sized bed, newer air conditioning unit, had fast wifi, and was nice and clean and quiet. A continental breakfast with fresh waffles, yogurt, fruit, cinnamon rolls, cereal and more was included. The money we saved going here paid for our dinner. I definitely would go back. read more

Got a smoking, handicapped room,smelled bad( do to being a smoking room), the lady at the desk was snotty and rude and had no idea of customer service. We booked online through booking.com looking for a "pet friendly" hotel after being on the road for 13+ hours to this lady, who charged an extra $45 for the "pet friendly" pet charge. We stayed at La Quinta for the past 2 nights, charged less than this place and MUCH NICER place and staff. Will not stay anywhere else for our next 3 nights. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! read more

NEVER STAY HERE. I recently booked a room through KAYAK at the Super 8 in Seguin Texas. The pictures looked nice, it was $120 a night, I figured it would be fine. It was the worst place I have ever been. When I entered the motel lobby to check in a wave of cat urine odor came over me. That should have been my first sign that this place is nasty and not fit for a family stay. I had just driven in from Houston and went straight to a basketball tournament with my son and wife, we here ready for a little down time, so I got the room. We went to the room and boy, that was a surprise. The smell of weed permieated the room and pubic hair was in the bathroom. The floor had not been vacuumed, I know because there was a dirty Q-tip on the floor. The blow dryer had ashes and burn marks on it where someone was using it for a lighter I guess. I went to the agent at front desk and asked for a refund, because I was not sleeping in that room. No way. He offered to move me to other room but I decided that he offered me a room that was disgusting, how could I trust another room would be clean. I said no thanks. The he starts getting mad at me, saying " Nobody smokes pot in my rooms ever!" I asked if he wanted to see the room for himself. He said that he was the only one there and could not leave. Then he stated that I would have to get my refund through KAYAK. I did not argue with him, so I went to tell my wife the news. I went back to the room and called KAYAK and they said I would have to get an approval from the motel manager. I'm getting the run around. I went back to the front desk, and now there are 2 people there, he said before that he was there alone. I told him that I need to see the manager to get a refund and he said she was gone. The lady standing next to him smiled and said you must go through KAYAK for a refund. I booked this room through KAYAK.COM. and have made 3 calls to them about my refund. I also spoke to them about how they should not represent Motel 8 in Seguin Tx, because they have nasty, dirty rooms. I have yet to get any resolution. There aren't very many hotels in Seguin, we had tried The Hampton Inn and The Comfort Inn and they were both booked, so I guess that's their racket. Put false pictures on the internet, charge $120, and when the other hotels fill up, people have no choice and get ripped off. I understand that there's a place for smoker's rooms and cheaper hotels that are not the nicest but this place should have been charging $59 a night, not $120 Ralph Elliott read more

This place is garbage. If you enjoy disgusting smelling rooms, roaches everywhere, AC that doesn't work and sticky bed sheets, this is the place for you. Avoid this place at all costs. It's WAY too expensive for what you're getting. If I had paid $20 for this room, I wouldn't be complaining. But not a penny more. read more

We are here now. This is unbelievable. Checked in over an hour ago. While the room decor is updated, in now way does it make up for the extremely hot room. Air is OFF when you walk in the room. This is JULY. In TEXAS. I bet it was easily over 90 degrees in this room - and still is - the AC has been on for an hour, we are sweating like pigs (and we are from TX and NOT overweight), and it's still VERY hot. We just finished a three-hour drive to get here, and are tired (I had 2 teenagers with me). Thank goodness we brought a fan. After I finish this review, I'm going to see what else is available in the area, because the manager told me it takes "a couple of hours" for the room to cool . This room will most likely not be cool even by midnight (and yes, it's a second-floor room). I even got the government rate of $112/night, which is very expensive for what we ended up with, and this place is hot hot HOT. BTW, breakfast is toast and cereal (that's in the plastic container probably from this morning). Do yourself a favor: cancel your reservation, or postpone your trip until November (when it's cooler). I can stay at the Ritz or Motel 6 and be comfortable at both if the room is clean and the AC remains ON during the day. This is just unbelievable. read more
