View from window. Heavy machinery parked inches from only window in room.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Upon check in, I walk down the hall to the room. The carpet is filthy, full of stains, and smells like animal urine. The room smells like moldy fungus. I open the window blind and realize there is literally a piece of heavy machinery parked 10 inches outside of our window. There is no view outside because the heavy machinery is blocking the entire window. I open the window and turn on the AC to try and get the rancid smell out. The air conditioning coils are full of mold and the air reeks of mildew. The bathroom vanity top is so small you can't even set a hygiene bag on it. But here's where it gets really bad. We lay down to go to sleep. At 12:30AM I am awoken to what sounds like people above us stomping up and down on the floor. After 15 minutes of this, I finally walk out and ask the front desk to intervene. They play dumb and act like they can't hear it. The entire night consists of loud stomping above our room. Neither myself nor my mom sleep a wink all night. The only reason we didn't pack up and leave in the middle of the night is because next door was my elderly grandparents. So instead, we stay awake in our beds all night terrorized by the Montana Stompers housed above us. Oh, and in between the stomping we get to hear semi trucks flying by on the road because the rooms are right off the freeway and the old windows don't block any sound. Zero insulation or soundproofing between rooms. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

After 30+Hrs of traveling from South Carolina trying to make it to our final destination my husband and I ended up off our original route, deep in the mountains of Idaho, and approaching a road closure in the middle of a snowstorm. We were able to make it to St. Regis and decided it would be better to take more risk in the daylight. So we booked a room at Super 8 and we e are so glad they were not booked and we could rest peacefully. The front desk receptionist was so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable of the roads and requirements in the area and outside the area. The beds were soft and cozy. Great stay!

This place far exceeded our expectations in terms of quality. The jacuzzi was so clean and really helped our tired bodies.

This place is disgusting. It has bed bugs in room 121! Could not even finish sleeping there. Slept in the truck.

Alameda's Hot Springs - Water level view of the outdoor hot tub.

We opted to stay here and recuperate in Alameda's hot springs after three days of strenuous hiking…read morein Glacier National Park and before flying back out of Missoula. This very cozy complex of cottages and rooms were built in the 1930s. The hot water in the kitchen and in the room tubs are all from the hot springs below the retreat center. I asked, and apparently you can actually drink the hot spring water. Though it does taste strange (because of all the sulfur and magnesium). And it may impact your digestion. (We did NOT drink the hot spring water available from the sink in our room's kitchenette! We only drank the cold water, which is from the municipal tap.) I think that the way this place works is that the rooms have permanent residents. But when they are out of town for an extended period of time, their rooms get rented out to travelers like me. My partner and I stayed in Room #9, which was smaller than the other rooms, as it lacked a full bathroom. Instead the room had a tiny closet next to the bed with only a toilet in it! Because of this situation, occupants of Room #9 are able to access the "Mermaid Room," which has a toilet, sink, towels, and a vintage clawfoot bathtub (again, with hot spring water coming out of the faucet). This means, that a single person can have their own private hot spring soak in the Mermaid Room, which we took advantage of. Our room had a cozy bed with a space heater. We never felt cold in the room. The kitchen next to our room had a small table, an electric stove and oven, fridge, and utensils and plates. I wish it had basic spices and some cooking oil, but the town's grocery stores are a 5-minute walk away. While the access to the private bathtub was nice, my partner and I also wanted to soak together and outdoors, so we signed up for a 7:00 pm soak (an extra $10 for 2 people) in one of their four outdoor tubs, all separated from each other by high wooden fences, for privacy. The tubs are pretty basic. No jets or bubbles. But it was lovely to be able to soak under the stars. The town also has other nearby public hot spring tubs, two of them run by the tribes ($5 each - cash only and honor system), but none of them were private like Alameda's. Also, the staff we engaged with (who I think were also residents) were all very kind and helpful. We highly recommend this cozy spot with a lot of history and character (and characters)!

Two of us came to Plains to be with family as winter was approaching, kind of a nerve-wracking time…read moreto travel for one who is not used to more serious winter weather. We booked directly, at the last minute, over the phone, and couldn't yet specify the number of nights we would need our two-bed room. The owners were completely flexible about that and we kept them apprised of our plans as soon as we knew them. This is a "self-serve" motel in that no one is on-site. You are given instructions on how to access your room, including the door code, before your arrival, via email. The same door code gives you access to an "amenities room" where you may pick up extras such as blankets, toilet paper, etc. The building is one-story, cute and a little dated. The room was furnished with two queen sized beds, a glider rocker, 2 nightstands, a microwave, a small coffee maker, and a large flatscreen tv with Dish satellite. There is an easily adjustable wall heater that makes it nice and warm quickly. Our bathroom had a tub-shower. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. Across the street is a cafe that serves lunch and dinner, and currently serves breakfast just 1-2 mornings a week. They give a discount to motel customers. About 3 blocks away is an espresso drive-through. So the location is convenient to important morning needs! :-) Whenever we had a need, we could text or call the owners and always got an immediate response no matter the hour. After four nights, we planned to leave but there was a winter storm warning so we weren't sure if we would be able to make it out. They were willing to hold our room for us until we knew we could make it out and just let them know by texting. We really appreciated their willingness to be so accommodating and flexible. Would definitely stay here again.

Other than that it was pretty easy instructions to get in the room since there's no staff available. I would definitely stay here again.
