The location is set back in the woods away from the busy freeway exit and truck stop. It feels very safe and quiet. We were allowed to stay with three large dogs and there is ample room on the grounds to walk and enjoy. The manager is very friendly and communicated well before and after our stay. The walls are old cedar, the bathrooms are very small, but the places in good repair for its age and is therefore quaint. I am leaving a four star review because the woman owner and proprietor was adorable and very sweet. As a plus, the spot is adjacent to cute regional shopping and a very good little restaurant .

The floors are wood laminate which I appreciated because many times carpet has stains. I dropped a little water on the floor so I wiped it up and sadly, the tissue was black (see photo). The Sturgis motorcycle rally was coming to an end so there were some bikers next-door. They thought it was a good idea to sit outside our door and talk very loudly about their experience at the rally. That's not the motel's fault of course. I do feel like it's a little pricey for what you get but I would not recommend anyone avoid this place because overall, it was fine.

We booked directly, at the last minute, over the phone, and couldn't yet specify the number of nights we would need our two-bed room. The owners were completely flexible about that and we kept them apprised of our plans as soon as we knew them. This is a "self-serve" motel in that no one is on-site. You are given instructions on how to access your room, including the door code, before your arrival, via email. The same door code gives you access to an "amenities room" where you may pick up extras such as blankets, toilet paper, etc. The building is one-story, cute and a little dated. The room was furnished with two queen sized beds, a glider rocker, 2 nightstands, a microwave, a small coffee maker, and a large flatscreen tv with Dish satellite. There is an easily adjustable wall heater that makes it nice and warm quickly. Our bathroom had a tub-shower. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. Across the street is a cafe that serves lunch and dinner, and currently serves breakfast just 1-2 mornings a week. They give a discount to motel customers. About 3 blocks away is an espresso drive-through. So the location is convenient to important morning needs! :-) Whenever we had a need, we could text or call the owners and always got an immediate response no matter the hour. After four nights, we planned to leave but there was a winter storm warning so we weren't sure if we would be able to make it out. They were willing to hold our room for us until we knew we could make it out and just let them know by texting. We really appreciated their willingness to be so accommodating and flexible. Would definitely stay here again.

They have six tubs that are somewhat communal. If it's not crowded you can get them by yourself, but if there's other folks around, you will need to share. The water is delightful, but very warm. You can turn off the flow if it's just too hot for you. It's $18 for two hours soak you can stay longer if they're not crowded but honestly two hours is plenty here. Nice place with friendly folks cute cats running around the property. Looks like they're building some additional tubs. Also looks like they're pretty liberal with their beverage policy so bring your cooler with some beers and other libations. Overall a super chill place love it.

I travel to Montana a few times a year and this was the first time I have stayed the night in the Hotel. Traveling with a puppy it was nice to have a place so welcoming with our pet. They could spruce it up a bit but the price is right for a quick stop for some rest.

No A/C in our unit~not ideal but cooled down at night with windows open (street noise came late as pubs closed but was short lived). Downside: Cigarette odor hit us as soon as we stepped into the main stairway from outdoors. Smell lingered our whole stay as we think possibly it used to be a smoking establishment and that odor is hard to remedy with old carpet in common areas. Room was clean, not as bad as smelling as out of the room. Shower had a cigarette burn on the shower lip (see photo). Texted the mgr but she was apparently not feeling well. No reply was ever rec'd so hoping she is ok now. 3.5 stars
