If you just need a place to hang your hat for a night because you've got too much to do during the day, this place will suffice. C'mon, it's a Super 8, the Parker House it ain't. My room is clean and spacious, it appears to have been updated recently, There is a workspace, a microwave, refrigerator with freezer, iron and ironing board, flat screen television, and something I haven't seen in awhile - the paper strip on the toilet that says, "Sanitized for your protection." I haven't seen one of those in years! My bed spring had an odd sound to it when I sat down, it could best be described as Chewbacca talking to Han Solo. It stayed quiet all night except when I got up and came back to bed. "It's okay, Chewie, I'm going back to sleep now." The good news is there is in-room coffee, a real, 4-cup coffee pot, not the usual simulated K-cup toy Easy Bake coffee maker! The bad news is that the supplied coffee packet is really awful. Luckily, there is a nearby Kwik Star so there is a nearby supply of Karuba coffee. Down in the lobby, there is a small breakfast nook that in our nearly-post-Covid world is open. It's a bit sparse but you'll find cereal, juice, fruit, sausage patties and eggs, and a roll-your-own waffle iron. It's the first open breakfast I've seen in over a year so it was a welcome site. It's about what you'd expect. One drawback, the outside security door is not secure. Lock yourself into your room, okay? There are three generations of the Lincoln Highway / US 30 that go through the twin cities of Tama and Toledo, this property is located on the second generation now badged as "Business US 30" and is just off the modern version of US 30 near the intersection of US 63 and Business 30. read more

Do not stay here. We thought it would be fine to just sleep, but I was wrong.The first picture is of a hand print in the bathroom of god knows what. The next one was on the ceiling, the next four are boogers that someone blew on the wall. The next one is dry blood on his pillow case. The front desk clerk asked me if I wanted a new pillow case and I said don't you see the problem? Looked at me like a deer in headlights and said his manager would call me. Be very careful if you stay there! I booked a room through Expedia, and paid with the Expedia app. When I checked in, the desk person asked for my credit card for " incidentals". I expressly asked if she was billing the card again and was told no. Lo and behold! Another charge for my stay shows up on my account. I asked to have the money refunded, but haven't seen any refund yet. Will keep this review updated. read more

So I was in town for 3 nights (11/3-11/6) on business. I had reserved my room online, since the Super 8 seemed like the better (more familiar) option of the 2 local hotels. When I got my room, it looked as expected; budget but nice. I took a shower, opened a bar of soap, and then found that the previous guest's towel was still hanging in the back of the bathroom door. Not great, but not enough to bother me. I tossed my used towels and the other one in the tub to be replaced the next day. When I came back the next day my towels and soap were gone, and we're not replaced. Weird. Finally on the last day, the worst thing possible happened. I woke up for breakfast and when I went to grab my money clip, something crawled off of it. I picked it up and tossed it into my ice bucket, which was full of water now. It was a bug. I hoped it wasn't a bed bug, but a quick Wikipedia search confirmed that it indeed was. See the pic I attached. I told the front desk lady and she apologized. She said the owners closed off room 206 because they were so bad. They had me in room 208, right next to that room!!!! What?!?!?!?! They sprayed for bugs, but they don't understand that only extreme heat or freezing cold can kill them and their eggs. The lady at the front desk said she tried to talk send into the owners, but to no avail. She washed my clothes and dried them to try to kill whatever may have made it into my gear. I had a tool bag, a suitcase and boxes of work supplies in my room too, which couldn't be cleaned. I was offered no discount, was charged full price and after being home for 5 days now, feel itchy all day and night. I found bite marks, but think they are residual from the hotel stay. I hope this doesn't result in an infestation at my house, or else the hotel will be receiving a bill from me. This hotel needs to be shut down until it is thoroughly exterminated. Super 8 by Wyndham Toledo - Hotels Near Me - Toledo, Iowa

Management was incredibly rude. We were stay for work, (8 hours away from home with one vehicle) apparently our boss had a mix up and was in meetings all day (on the second morning). So the room had not been paid for, my partner was obviously at work with the vehicle and had all of the money. Well I was told I needed to pay right then or get out, I had no possible way to do that at the moment so fine, I packed up our stuff and two dogs. Went down to the lobby to say I didn't have any money on me and I needed to wait until he got off of work. He once again said get your stuff and get out, I informed him I had already done that and was just coming to ask if I could at least stay OUTSIDE in which I was replied with "I don't know, how long do you even plan on sitting out there?". So I said just never mind and walked to the hotel on the other side of the Mexican restaurant right next to this Super 8. I sat down in the far corner of the parking lot with my two dogs (mind you it's 93 degrees outside), when the management of Designer suits and Inn actually told me that I could stay in their game room, gave me water for my dogs, they were very kind. Less than an hour later everything was sorted out because it was just a miscommunication. Not to mention the breakfast was not good, carpets were dirty, WiFi signal was not good either. BED BUGS!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! My sons wrestling team came into town to wrestle, they could visibly see the bugs in/on the mattress. Along with the over the counter products being used to try and rid this infestation. After calling the hotel, and speaking to a gentleman whom said his name was "Dick" and identified himself as the manager in his accented voice, I then began to do my research, this hotel has been having complaint reviews since Aug 2016. I stayed there once before no problems. This time though when checking in was told there was a $50 deposit for paying cash. The Clerk while checking me in was also on the phone and taking care of her kid more then paying attention to my check in. She gave me keys with the wrong room # written on it. Also when I tried to ask for something that showed I had given $50 she just waved me off towards the room. Since I had no issue last time I walked away. When checking out was only given $25 and attitude saying I must be wrong since it was written on 2 notes that I had given $25. When I asked her to look at the security footage to see that I am right she said only the manager can do that and wont be in for a while so I waited. When manager arrived she told me only the owners can look at the footage. I have called back many times now for the past two days with no response from them other than the owners have not gotten around to looking at the matter. Now I know $25 is not that much but its more of the principle of it. This is the worst customer service I have ever received and would be surprised if I ever see worse! read more
