Super 8 Hotels don't always get a good rap, but this one stood out too me. First the gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant. The lobby area where they had breakfast was very clean and inviting. I think their breakfast only goes to 9 which was a little bit of a bummer. I slept in and I know some hotels go until 10am My room was a one queen-sized bed and the room was so small and I LOVE THAT! I really don't mind having a small room because...well why do I need a big one I'm just there to sleep. Sometimes I go to hotels with rooms bigger than my apartment and it makes feel like I should rent out a room instead. The room was clean and all the general amenities, such as fridge and microwave. Not a lot of space around the sink as it was outside of the bathroom and right when you walked into the room. I was happy with my stay and would consider staying here again.

Clean, friendly staff, just off freeway, and low price. We stayed for $69 plus tax on a Sunday evening (June 2014) in a room with 2 full beds. Also, there is continental breakfast in AM.

Booked a week (5 nights) for business purpose super convenient location to the conference center (Truck Country). I feel like the owners are trying but the hotel is outdated and in need or repairs and updates. The outside is clean and welcoming. But some small upgrades like new shower heads and better housekeeping would greatly help. Cons: Old, musty smelling, shower head was horrible all corroded from hard water and didn't spray decent. Furniture in the room was badly stained and soiled. Every table/counter surface needed a wipe down with disinfectant including the walls. Room frig never got cold, bathroom toilet was tiny, broken and old. The bed pillows were oddly tiny and the stinky soiled carpet needs to go. Pros: Serves free breakfast to guests with decent hours (6am-11am), cannot comment on quality because I did not utilize. Had a nice pool and hot tub, bonus actually in working order. Staff put me in a room away from the front desk, pool and lobby traffic area so I had a quiet stay. Best part of the room was the bed. Very comfortable and clean, there was a sheet and decent down comforter, not your standard thin or cheap sheets. While the pillows were very small the bed did have 5 pillows which was plenty for just one person.

There are a handful of and nice restaurants, taverns, coffee shops, unique stores. Personally recommended: Nitty Gritty Restaurant, Beans & Cream Coffee Shop. JJ Sewing Shop. JJ Stitches Quilt Shop. Security cameras around the inside/outside of the property. Breakfast had a dedicated person assigned to oversee things (***BRAVO***), not just the cook who is asigned 2 jobs (oversight, and food prep)! The housekeeping staff in the hallways were friendly. There was a reasonable level of cleanliness throughout the building. Building itself was well maintained, minus one point (see NEAS). The beds are very comfortable. OKAYS: Front staff were professional, efficient, and business-like in transactions but could have been more friendly and welcoming at check-in. Room was comfortable and reasonably clean (room edges could use some attention). We were greeted most of the time as we came and went past the front desk during our stay. A second TV in the breakfast room would make viewing easier from some locations (First-World issues!). A Kwik Trip is located just a couple of (walkable) blocks away. NEAS: The pool felt like a "fishbowl," with anyone accessing the lobby able to see in. No elevator. The breakfast room was clean but lackluster and overly utilitarian in appearance and feel. The middle of the hallway in front of Rm 221 is giving way; not visible, but you can feel it. The toilet/Tub/Shower room is small. Doorswing would hit one at the knees if sitting on the commode; and only clears the tub edge by a foot or so. The air system filters were dirty. VERY NEA: The hotel has chosen to include a Room Safe Fee. IMHO, this is a "junk fee" being used by locations as a free revenue stream that allows them to advertise and artificially appear cheaper per night than competing locations. The corporate level explanation is that "half of our guests like it / half do not." From personal experience, I have seen this ONLY in a couple of 5-star locations. I mostly see it in 2 and 2.5-star locations. Like others doing this, this fee is NOT reflected in online advertisement pricing; you only find out about it at check-in and can only get it removed by specifically asking for it to be removed by visiting the front desk upon check-out.

It was quite which was a huge plus for me. It seems to be well maintained. My only concern was how expensive the room was. It was around 250.00 for one night. I don't travel a lot but it seems a bit steep for what we got. It was especially problematic for my wife and I when we looked up on their website that their rooms are stated at 99 or $89 apiece. Yet when we talked to the front desk personnel, they said that that was an average price even though that's not what the website says . I don't know, maybe I'll have to contact corporate. There aren't many places to eat close by minus one sports bar across the street.

Check-in was easy and the front desk staff was nice. We did have a problem with our door card reader in that our keys were not reading. After trying to re-do the card keys and still not having any luck, the staff switched us to a different room so we didn't have to worry about being locked out. The rooms were clean and the beds were sort of comfortable. I didn't get to try out the continental breakfast because I was up and out of the hotel before it opened but the boyfriend was pretty thrilled with the waffles. There was free Wifi in the rooms and although it wasn't particularly fast I didn't have any problems with it.

Unfortunately, I was not particularly impressed with our stay. The hotel is actually in a good location, and with some improvements, I think it could be a much better place to stay. However, there were several things that stood out. The pillows had a slightly unpleasant smell, and the carpeting in the hallways looked dingy and could definitely use replacing. Another odd issue was the placement of the toilet paper holder, which was positioned in front of the toilet and required an uncomfortable stretch to reach. My biggest disappointment was the continental breakfast. The breakfast area itself was clean, which I appreciated, but the selection was underwhelming. There were no bananas during our stay, which may seem like a small thing, but for someone like me who looks for simple, healthier breakfast options when traveling, that was a deal breaker. There is definitely potential here. The location is convenient, and with refreshed carpeting, more attention to the rooms and bedding, and a better continental breakfast selection, this could easily be a more enjoyable place to stay. For my experience, however, I would rate it 2 out of 5 stars.
