I stopped by this place tonight after walking around the mall. This place used to be on the 2nd floor where the Disney store used to be and then moved outside to where Carter used to be. Now the store is on the 1st floor where I think Gap used to be. When I walked inside, a worker greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I told him I was just browsing to see what they had and then he told me that there a special if I buy 1 shirt then the second one is free. They had some nice DragonBall z pictures but I didn't see or ask about the price. The worker didn't give me any issues and was polite with me. They had many other customers inside the store as well shopping and just browsing the store. The worker was polite to all the customers inside the store when I was there. read more

I will never walk into this place again. I went here yesterday shopping for a birthday gift for my niece. I picked a couple of hello kitty items. Then, a sales associate with a beard and glasses that I recognize in photos posted offered to help me and showed me items I wasn't interested in but I was open to looking because I appreciated that he was trying to be helpful. I felt some things were overpriced. I wondered if I should shop around at other stores first so I put back my items thinking I'd come back later but this man questioned me about why I wasn't buying anything now and told me I wouldn't find anything better at any other store. I thought it was rude and somewhat aggressive because he was following me on my way out the store. Love collecting pokemon cards and was told by a friend that they have a good selection. The store is jam packed with loads of cards,toy,poster collectables. Everything you would expect from a hobby store! Unfortunately if you want to be able to buy collectibles at decent price this place will not be for you. They mark up 2x-3x retail price. I get you are a business and need to make money but that mark up is insane. Regarding service, felt very used car salesman approach instead of wanting to expand knowledge and help a collector get into a hobby. They really push this.... Heard a lot of stories about this place. To put it short for you all, if you're looking to buy a gift for someone and pay a decent price for it all while establishing a good relationship with a seller, this place is not for you. Customer service goes a long way, but it falls off HARD in this case. I can only speak from my experience here (and at the Glendale store might I add) that the prices here ARE WAY TOO HIGH compared to what you can find at other collector shops and sites. Then you got the actual people running the place as well (I'm talking Northridge location in this case). As it turns out, the guy you keep hearing about, Sam, comes off as one of the most condescending, pretentious, loathsome pseudo collector shop owners just based on his behavior according to some of the reviews here (to which I unfortunately have to corroborate due to my own experiences), and this is coming from someone who's got a network of collectors. I've had two encounters with the guy, one of which was the intent on doing trades on some Funko POPs I no longer wanted, and before I can even propose the offer, let alone speak to the guy, I get hounded at from across the store of having a backpack on. I understand theft protection protocols sure, but to cause a scene while doing so only painted me as someone I'm not to everyone else which was very uncomfortable. He wasn't calm until I mentioned why I was there which was for a trade offer, THEN HIS DEMEANOR SWITCHED UP almost immediately. I turned back on proposing my offer not too long after since that encounter had already turned off and away elsewhere. The second time was more recent, and this time I was with a friend. To keep this one short (especially since other people on here had similar stories), Sam had approached my friend and I in usual customer service fashion "what brings you here?" I responded by simply saying that "we're just here to browse." It didn't take long for Sam to switch up on us, me mostly since I responded, while he was favoring my friend in terms of treatment ALL BECAUSE HE SIMPLY SHOWED INTEREST in the One Piece trading cards while belittling me in the process, saying stuff to my friend like "you will never see stuff like this outside of this place" or "your friend is slow, he doesn't know what he's looking at." We ended up not buying anything for obvious reasons at that point. If you guys want my recommendation on where to go, there's HEROES which is also in the Northridge Mall along with Chalice Collectibles which is in the Glendale Galleria if you're at that location (there's also one in Westfield Topanga if you don't want to drive that far, with King Fandom not being far away from there either), BoxLunch or Hot Topic at either one, and whether you're someone dedicated to finding a certain gift for someone, or a dedicated collector even, you could also find better prices on eBay and Whatnot too (though standard online reseller shopping protocol still stands if you do choose to go that route). I say this once more, there's other places out there. read more

Terrible terrible customer service. Asked a question about an item and we had a weird argument about how people know Disney's "Cars". The worker just continued to try to put me in my place that "most people know Cars from the movie and not the show". And he repeated this about 5 times to me. He really accept that Cars is also a TV show that my son watches and we were looking for car toys from the "Cars on the Road" show, which they have at Target. Thought it was a weird thing to dispute about and it really shows what kind of people run the store. The dude should just let it go and choose to not be a jerk about it. I won't be returning, but that's fine because these kinds of stores usually close down in time anyway. Many of the items were overpriced and overvalued. Let me be the ethical person that this business absolutely lacks, by reminding you that once you pay them and issue them your money, you will not be able to ask them to reverse it, even if it is one measly day after. Call me crazy but anyone in sales, trying to be transparent and ethical should definitely tell their clients before they fork over money that ALL SALES ARE FINAL! I ended up spending more than $500 with the supervisor (Samer) assuring me I was in good hands. Maybe I should have suspected his "trust me" attitude and been more thorough with asking him what would happen if I changed my mind but I still believe that a moral company doesn't hide beneath small print. Worst of all is how I was treated afterwards when trying to see when I could come around to return the items I didn't need. I got the same sweet Mr. Samer from the other day, now throwing the typical policies of sales being final at my face, which he forgot to mention, conveniently, when I was purchasing these funkos Saturday night!!! It maybe legal for them to hide beneath their signs and fine print but it doesn't make their business decisions ethical or right. At the end of the day, I've had way more car sales people be more forthcoming than this. Samer told me he'd call his superiors and get back to me when I had called him today. I pleaded to him that I was not made aware of their "no return policy" and that spending $500 while being unemployed was a poor and rash decision on my part. Mistake on me and definitely poor salesmanship in not remind clients that all sales are final. Cherry on top... Samer never called me back and instead had one of his lackeys deliver the message to me that only $150 in value would be accepted as a return and that I should be very thankful as they never extend such favors like this one to their customers. The guy didn't even have the integrity to admit that the store's method was poor and distasteful or atleast apologize that this $500 dollar transaction would be final. Maybe the people at these stores truly don't have a say in how business is conducted but shame on the owners or people above Samer's head, if there are any, for being all about the money and not the client. In the end they got me good with $500 plus dollars and I'll have to take the L because I have no other choice. But I'll make sure to share my story wherever I go because business owners like that, shouldn't prevail, and I hope karma comes around one day and throws them a strict policy hindering them when they are most in need. Really cute shop with lots of options, but everything was a tad bit overpriced in my opinion and many of the items you can find cheaper online. I can understand things being a little bit more expensive, but some of their items were about 35% to 40% hire. The main reason for my 3 stars is their bag policy. As soon as I walked in the door they took my purse because it was a little big bigger than your average purse size. I also saw them take some other peoples purses that were a lot smaller. I saw many people around the store with bags a lot larger than mine that were not taken so I feel it they are going to enforce the policy, it has to be for everyone.
