But…read morethis kept coming up in my fb feed and I've made it a point the last couple years to get out more and this is close to me, so I checked it out. So off to Warwick Mall I went. It's in the side aside in front of Nordstrom rack, I think it may have been where forever 21 was And its a good time. I did the VIP option which gets you the ability to cut the line (there was none), and a souvenir postcard and book. There's about 30 paintings/exibts and a couple of videos and it took me about a half hour to do the entire thing. For being in a mall they did a nice job with and it still comes across as classy. Everything is spread out nicely, and there's plenty of room to move about and benches to sit. It's not as moving as some of the reviews say on their website say, but its enjoyable nonetheless. Overall I would say definitely check it out. It's an interesting time even for the non-religious folks like me, and it literally is the Vatican brought to you.

Downloading the app & activating the QR code for each image is a MUST if you want to hear the audio explanation of both the biblical significance and the artist's perspective. Otherwise, the photo boards offer an extremely condensed version. That being said, you could really spend a LONG time in this exhibition just standing in front of the work and absorbing every inch. The post restoration colors are vibrant (there is a link in the app to explain a bit about the restoration (no QR code access). These are enlarged images and so while they may be 'hi-res' they are not crystal clear as if you were seeing them in person. While there is some differentiation of 'brush strokes' everything is an image of an image and so no 3D effect of brush strokes are visible. This was a little over an hour's drive and a nice way to spend the afternoon with a very accomplished artist friend. Agree with previous reviews; no need to purchase VIP..there was NO line whatsoever and the gift shop is a bit overpriced. A post card similar to the stickers would be nice (as opposed to post cards of individual works - which are nice too). This was a 'set your expectations appropriately' kind of experience...it's not the original work in the original setting, but it is a very good educational experience with some fine voice work to describe these incredible works of art.

This small gallery is located in the bottom of Brown's "List Art Center, a multi-functional…read morebuilding that also includes classrooms, lecture halls, and extensive studio space." It was introduced to me by a Brown student I was going out with. It is free to come here but usually they have a donation cup. I never know what to expect unless I read the Providence Phoenix (which has just stopped publishing! BOOO!) I know if I go online they'll have a bit on who they are exhibiting currently. It's a good idea to find out because since this gallery is a part of the school it isn't always displaying an exhibit. In the room next to the lobby opposite the exhibit room is a smaller room that is used to hang student works. I enjoy going in there and looking at what is currently going on in their classes. I have seen some excellent artists and I've seen some ho hum ones too here. It is unusual to come and have the exhibit room busy. For something that is free it's a nice spot in Providence that is quiet and introspective like.
