Came here for a light lunch with a member here. I felt so lucky to be a guest in this stunningly beautiful place. From the inside to the courtyard- it was gorgeous. Service was fantastic as well- they went above and beyond. We had the shrimp cocktail and the chips and queso. Both were absolutely insanely delicious. They clearly used fresh shrimp and it tasted so juicy and fantastic. The chips were homemade and so was the queso- both were delish. I'd love to be able to visit again! read more

If you ever have a chance to attend or host an event at Hope Club, do. The venue is gorgeous - elegant in nature and painted with character. You feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. They offer multiple meeting rooms to host events of various sizes. The staff are attentive and reliable - courteous, confident and polite. Mitch, the assistant general manager is the go-to guy for planning your event. He's knowledgeable, helpful and overall an easy guy to get along with. The food is delicious - from appetizers and soup to filet mignon. The chef and crew at Hope Club know how to cook and serve for 2 people to 180 (have been in both scenarios so can attest!). We held our wedding reception at Hope Club in June 2017. While researching wedding venues, we were looking for something truly original and from our first visit to Hope Club we knew we had found something special. Our entire experience (from start of planning to the day after the wedding) working with Hope Club was easy - they are courteous with their time, generous in terms of tasting their food, and as a bonus you just feel at home when you visit. Other highlights for having a wedding at Hope Club: The Club itself only hosts a certain number of weddings a year (and only on Saturdays), it is closed to members when they do. My husband and I arrived into Providence Wednesday before the wedding and stayed through Sunday at Hope Club (they have 17 B&B-style rooms to stay in). The staff was helpful throughout our entire stay, no task was too small - from sewing a button on my father's tux to moving entire rooms of furniture to create an extra seating place. I truly can't say enough about our experience with the Hope Club, that weekend will hold a special place in our hearts for years to come. read more

Talk about gorgeous! This is one of the classiest, my beautiful and elegant venues I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The old-school charm and exquisite details remind me of a time gone by, but the cool updates and modern amenities make this the ideal location for an event. I must have driven past this place hundreds of times without even knowing it was there. See, there's nothing ostentatious or glaringly obvious about The Hope Club - it's as subtle and dignified as the time period it comes from. The rooms are impecable and perfect for entertaining. There are several of them throughout, including a mahogany bar room, a stunning ballroom and a few cozy, charming lounges. Upstairs, there are private luncheon rooms and guest rooms with beds and full baths, should you decide to spend the night. Each room is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, keeping the elegant tone of the building throughout . Most of the rooms were updated during a 2004 renovation, which means moder baths - yippee!! I can't wait to host an event in this spectacular space - the staff takes care of everything, and the views of quaint downtown PVD are stunning! read more

Space is old Providence at its best. I love the stone lions that flank either side of the entrance steps and the massive wooden door that brings you into the entry way. The porter that happened to be walking by when I came in greeted me with the warmest hello and smile. Perfect first impression. The actual Club is broken into a series of salon-type rooms. Larger rooms for larger groups, but the option of smaller rooms for more intimate conversation. The telephone closest in the hallway between rooms are more than charming and do actually still have land-line phones in them with phone books. Love it. The decor is dark wood features with accents of antique furniture and seating. Not sure if there is space for a truely large event (i.e. a mid-sized wedding) -- but a wonderful location to host an event. Gorgeous. read more

This review is specifically pertaining to my stay as an overnight guest. Feels like I went back 100 years sleeping in a bed that feels just as old. If you're interested in knowing what the people in the next room are discussing just ask me. I hear every word, every turn in their bed, every step, and every sniff. Had a question for the front desk earlier. Called 10 times, no answer. Went down to the lobby and stood for 20 mins ringing the bell before someone showed up. I might pay double to stay somewhere else - especially if I'd like to be sleep at 4am rather than writing a review. read more

The Hope Club is a slice of New England-- it has an old and creaky kind of charm. The walls are thin so if you have a neighbor, you might hear her. There are a few things to know if you're going to stay over night -- the rooms are small and minimalist, with fairly small beds, and as the evening gets late, there may-- or may not-- be staff around. I had a very early morning flight and there was no one at the front desk. There was a sign that said to dial an extension for check out- but when I dialed, there was no answer. But if you're looking for a taste of real New England, this might be a spot for you. read more

Our daughter's wedding was held at The Hope Club on September 29th, and friends gave the brunch there the next morning. Everything was perfection! Mitchell Frania, the General Manager, saw that every detail was attended to and that there were no glitches. The venue, food and service were superb. Planning could easily have been stressful, but Mitchell is an effortless problem solver, flexible and fun. We were all thrilled with how beautiful the wedding was. We had our wedding reception at the Hope Club this past June and have nothing but amazing things to say. We toured a few other venues before the Hope Club and nothing came close. The minute we walked in and took a tour, we knew we wanted to have our reception there. No pictures can do this place justice. It's old charm along with elegant touches make for one of the most unique wedding venues in the state. From the start, the entire staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. From a year out up until the day before, the staff was constantly in contact with us making sure all details were set. The planning couldn't have been easier as they can take care of the catering, tables/chairs, linens, valet parking, and guest rooms. The reception couldn't have been better. The entire Hope Club staff managed to take care of our 140 guests while also making sure we and our wedding party were taken care of. Mitch, our host, consistently checked in with us to make sure we were having a great time and to see what he could get us. Many of our guests stayed overnight as well which was a great idea. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. I can't tell you how many guests approached us to tell us how impressed they were with the Hope Club. read more

I just had my wedding reception at the Hope Club, and I am still in awe of how well everything went. It was on the larger side (265-ish people) and that alone should have caused about a huge amount of problems, but the attentive staff, were ON POINT the entire time. We had had a number of issues with other vendors, and leading up to the day, and I don't think that I had slept in about a month because i was so worried. I didn't need to be. Our unconventional wedding (food stations, NOT a sit down dinner-satellite bars, and huge hors d'oevre stations, and 2 raw bars, with available seating all over) made it pretty difficult to pull off, but the entire staff rose to the occasion, and it was flawless. The dining room manager, Mitchell was our unflappable YES-man. Nothing seeemed to throw him off, no matter how strange or last minute our requests seemed to be. He really carried the whole thing. He even recommended our band, and they were the BEST. The bar tenders were fast and professional, and still maintained the atmosphere of an old Providence social club. They didn't bat an eyelash when I said absolutely NO beer in Bottles, glasses only, even though with such high volume, that probably made dishwashing a nightmare, as well as slowing things astronomically. The food was fabulous, and again, executed extremely well. It was basically sliders, and fish and chips and lamb chop lollypops etc. finger food. The catch was that i needed both gluten free, and vegan options, I got both, and both were (I'm told) quite tasty. We had ordered crepe cakes from NYC, and the chef caught two of them before being served, as he thought that they had turned, and smelled funky-a good catch if you ask me! I certainly couldn't ask for a more attentive group, and I am still amazed with my good luck in chosing the Hope Club as a reception venue. They tell you that things will go wrong on your wedding day, and you just need to breathe and let them roll off your shoulders... That was true of just about everything BUT the Hope Club. They need to do more research on the valet company they chose to work with. I had a terrible encounter with their valet attendants and it completely ruined an event that I attended there. It's important to pick the right vendors because they're a reflection of your brand. read more
