What a great surprise Super Supplements was when I walked through their doors! I honestly didn't know what to expect from their store. I had driven by it many times and just thought it was a small store with not much inventory, not thinking much about it. However, when my wife needed a hard-to-find supplement straightaway I googled where we could find it in a store, knowing that ordering would take longer through the mail. Super Supplements came up at the top of the search and said it was in stock and I could order/pre-pay online. I did, and went to pick it up. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw the large store, the many shelves and inventory, and wide variety of selections! They had everything! So impressed! Supplements, foods, beverages, everything! What it reminded me of, was Swanson's back in Fargo (for those of you that know what I'm talking about, Super Supplements is very close to what Swanson's offers ... for those that don't know what I'm talking about, that's a positive comparison to be linked to Swanson's). :-) They had friendly, knowledgeable staff and let me just wonder the isles, looking at what they had without continually asking if I needed help or made me feel like I should hurry up and leave. What is really disappointing about this location is that the great customer service I received was a one time only deal. Super? Yeah not so Super at all.... The first time I came in I was met by some really great expert care and customer service by a young woman-she was tall with dark blonde hair. She was kind and spent quite a bit of time with me-I spent quite a bit of money.... Then I came back a week or so later and the same woman was there, I am sure the employees see so many different people-Then I mentioned to her that she was such a great help to me on my prior visit...she acknowledged my last visit then treated me like I had the bubonic plague for the remainder of my visit. That was highly disappointing-I asked her my question with the intention of purchasing---but after that cold greeting....I thanked her and left the store and drove to Safeway and purchased what I needed- And I will NOT be coming back...why bother. It is not just about your first visit, customer service is about all the visits...one bad visit ruined my perception of this store...and considering it is not really by anything else...so someone would have to go out of their way to come here. The customer service at this location is awesome! I went in looking for a brand of CBD capsules I usually buy elsewhere and William told me about a different brand that he uses that's not only more effective but more cost effective. Because the brand was no longer being stocked on the shelves (I could still get it online), he went to a great deal of trouble searching for any remaining bottles and eventually discovered one. He also gave me several coupons for future purchases of this brand of CBD. Jeoff was also really helpful and knowledgeable. The person who is claiming she is mistreated at this store potentially because of her skin color needs to pipe down. Stop the madness! I am Black and have never received anything less than great customer service at this location -- or for that matter ANY location I've been to. They always answer my questions, and I've never been looked at weird or ignored. They always bust out the sweet samples to try too! I've even had some great conversations with the people who work here. Prices here are cheaper than anywhere else in town for the things I regularly buy (Emerg-n-c, facial products, Spirutein, flax oil). I've been a damn fool. I've been buying my vitamins at the Interbay Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck) when there has been a Super Supplements just down the street from me. A friend recently gave me the tip about Super Supplements being the most affordable place in town to stock up on vitamins. I have to admit, I'd always thought it was something more like an outlet for things like body building protein powders...or weight loss pills. I have no idea where this idea came from. But there it was, lodged in my head like a dead rat in a drainpipe. At any rate, I've been enlightened, and never again will I go anywhere else but here for my vitamins. I try to take iron, Nordic brand omegas, vitamin D, a multi, and off and on I'll take calcium, and that can really add up. So after my horrible experience at the West Seattle Supper Supplement (http://www.yelp.com/biz/super-supplements-seattle-3) store I took a step back from wanting to be all Martha Stewart-y and making my own body scrubs (http://www.freebeautytips.org/body-scrubs.html). I let a few weeks go by than decided yes I did want to make some so I'll go try another store and that's what I did. I came to this store, and was greeted right away asking if they could help me with anything. I gleefully said YES PLEASE HELP ME! I told them what I was planning on doing, my experience at the West Seattle store and what oils I was looking for. With in minutes I had a big bottle of avocado oil and a big bottle of peach kernel oil and ready to go. Than since he was so helpful I decided to ask about some actual vitamins, I mean I am in a vitamin store after all. The nice, pleasant gentleman directed me to the lady vitamins and helped me pick out some that will help me not catch the scurvy if I don't eat my daily serving of fruits and veggies every day. Addition: I just went back for the second time, a good two months since my first visit. The same staff member who helped me last time remembered me, what products I'd purchased, and was very interested in how those items had worked out for me. Discount prices that may be worth getting in your car. I am not a car-based life form. Instead, I'm rather fond of walking to wherever I need to go, or driving and making one stop for everything. Super Supplements is NOT on my list, however, they have 20% off my favorite protein powder daily, and significant discounts on my favorite natural brands. This is quite the savings if you're a junky for "natural" body care. I appreciated the selection and helpful attitude of the staff. You do have to be a little vigilant about expiration dates sometimes, but mostly, everything is well stocked and fresh. I just learned about a rare Omega oil DPA, which is not the same as the common EPA and DHA. Writing this review based on my visit today, Dec. 12, 2017. Noon-ish Usually this place is staffed with really nice people who know their stuff, but on my visit today the entire crew (except Chris, who is cool) were new faces... Upon entering I was immediately greeted by about 4 employees at once, who were all standing directly at the front, welcoming committee status. After saying hi to the world's most enthusiastic greeting crew, I made my way over to the vitamins and before I could even begin to look at them, literally 5 seconds after I come in and obviously head to a specific section, one of the greeters comes over and asks "Any questions over here?!" .... I tell her I'm fine thank you, (obviously annoyed, and wanting some time to shop) and she proceeds to walk to the shelves 15 feet away from me and just watch me the whole time I shop. I can see her in my peripheral vision and she is just watching me. So after feeling like a criminal for the whole time I was there, I finally get the hell out of there and pay for my $60 multivitamins. I always leave here wondering why I give them my money? Well, the store does have better prices than a lot of other stores...at the same time I get a weird vibe from all people who work here. They are super friendly and nice to my husband, who is white and not to me at all. That sucks, because it is super close to my house.
