If you choose to employ rude men to work the counter, then I highly suggest you improve the quality of your food by a lot. No one wants to deal with an employee's attitude, but then to have to deal with tacos so bland both my dogs passed on them (the lengua tasted like it was soaked in mop water). My girlfriend ordered chicken nachos. I don't remember her telling grumpy face to 'hold the chicken' so we were both puzzled when chicken nachos means low quality cheese and chips with a couple pieces of dried chicken. I actually felt that the chicken's life should have been treated with more respect. On that note, I feel as customers, we should have been treated with more respect. I should have known better-especially being half Mexican-that on Cinco de Mayo this taco stand had no customers except for a local who hadn't ordered (was just sitting on a bench), that this wasn't "the place to be." This place is a gem in South Lake. I only found it after searching for tacos on Yelp and I'm so glad I did. This is definitely a spot that's off the beaten path. It's small but packs a lot of flavors. They have a walk up window for you to place your order. The menu is placed outside large enough to see while ordering. They only have an outdoor seating area with about 5-6 tables. It's walkable from all of the hotel/casinos at Stateline. The hours are minimal, only open Monday-Saturday, 10:30am-5pm. This is definitely a spot you come for lunch or stock up on burritos for dinner or a late night snack. They only have street parking, but it didn't seem too difficult to find a spot to park. The Food: We tried the Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos. They were bigger than your traditional street tacos and filled with the perfect amount of filling: meat, cilantro, onions if you're into that, and avocado. These tacos were fire, fresh tasting, and super flavorful. We loved these tacos! I ordered a side of rice, it was just your usual side of Spanish rice. Not worth the $5. We also ordered chips and salsa, they put the chips at the bottom of the plastic bag with some sides of salsa. Wasn't too excited about how they bagged the chips, because then they just placed all other items ordered, on top of the chips. The chips should have been in their own separate bag. Nonetheless, the chips were tasty and crunchy. They didn't taste like store bought chips. The salsas were okay, a little too spicy and thin to my liking. The prices for the tacos and the burritos seem to be a great value for what you get, but the rest of the menu seems a bit questionable. Prices seem a bit high for a little taco spot. Tahoe has some gems hidden in plain sight. To find them you've got to get off the main drag and look around, or use Yelp to help, and you'll be incredibly rewarded. Super Taco is one of these, and after you visit, you'll agree too. I discovered Super Taco five years ago and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it. I've literally told countless people about the amazing taqueria that's hidden behind all of the big casinos and buildings of Stateline that they must seek out, and I've been thanked by every one of them! First time I had a burrito and it was a thing of dreams. Packed with protein (opted for Asada), fresh pico, guac, and beans. It was massive, the tortilla tender, and the Asada super well seasoned. This time around we grabbed some tacos. Griddled tortillas topped with carnitas, al pastor, and Asada, all delicious. This is a spot to get quality food at an affordable price in a city that has a whole lot of the opposite. Look and you shall find! read more

OK...so I admit I made a mistake. Don't get meat tacos from a stand that pushes their seafood in their name, and don't get a seafood dish from a place where their reviews are all about their beef or pork tacos....but when I see a campechena on a menu....I go for it (even if the price seems way high). I had a craving for tacos so looked on yelp for the closest place to our hotel that I could walk to. It was below freezing outside with blustery winds, so walked to Maya's Mexican Grill across the street, but they were closed. So decided to walk to Super Taco, because of the good reviews. It reminds me of a food cart, order while standing outside, and then wait for the food. So ordered 3 things: 2 asada tacos, 2 carnita tacos, and one campechena. The tacos were reasonably priced ($2.52 a piece) and were delicious. I love the avocado crema on top, and they give plenty of meat (though I agree with others that the meat is underseasoned). Both were in cubes, not shredded...and didn't have much fat. After placing the order, waited at least 15 minutes out in the cold for the food. Don't really understand why it took so long....there were no orders in front of me and all the ingredients for my order has already been cooked...just a matter of putting it together. I admit it didn't help my mood that it was so cold outside. It's clear this is not a tourist spot, but one that contractors and works come to, for lunch (which is always a good sign). Most of them were ordering burrittos and tacos and nachos....which is a good sign. There are outdoor tables and street parking...this cold, most folks just parked their car on the street and waited in their car for their food. I didn't know that a seafood cocktail could come in cold OR warm...I've always had it cold (i.e. cocktail not soup). So I was really surprised when I got my order and the entire bag seemed warm...yup the campechena was really warm. Of course, I did some google searching and sure enough, some parts of mexico serves this dish warm. But all agree that it should have be brimming with seafood (like a dip vs a soup), and this was more of a soup. Overcooked shrimp, imitation crab meat (a first for me in campechena), small pieces of octopus....very sparse. I ended up eating the whole thing, which I shouldn't have been able to do...and still had half the container full of clamato juice that I threw away. Mind you...this cost $17.99 from a place that has good $2.59 tacos, so I totally felt ripped off. Any Reno Yelp Elite can tell you; when Michael T (local community manager) gives you a recommendation or calls a place a hidden gem, you go immediately. In the morning on our walk to get coffee and breakfast, we spotted their place and reviewed the outdoor menu for later use. As I was sitting back in the hotel watching the end of a college football game, I got serious about lunch options. Michael's review didn't tell any lies. This place is good. Instead of paying $25 for a burger and fries in and around the casino, we walked two blocks in the beautiful sun to enjoy these tasty morsels. I had an asada super burrito (no jalapeños in the guac, btw). My wife had 2 asada tacos. We washed it down with a Mexican coke. All the flavors are good. I especially would note that the rice is not the typical bland Mexican rice you see at a lot of places. The flavors of tomato, onion, and garlic really added something special to the product. I love hole in the wall places and decided that this would be a food place for lunch. It is a shop with a window front. There were a few tables outside, but limited seating. A few "X" on the ground for social distancing and hand sanitizer was provided by the window to order. It was quite busy when we arrived, but the line moves quickly. Looks like most of the customers were regulars. I order 3 tacos ($2.25) pastor, asada and carnitas. He also recommended the super burrito ($8) with pastor (14in tortilla with extra toppings). We were pleased with our choices. All the tacos were delicious. I would eat all of them again. The burrito was large, but it wasn't anything special to us. I would stick with the tacos next time. The salsa were disappointing, plain and not flavorful. Good tacos and friendly staff makes this place a 3.5 stars rounding up to 4. Give this place a try. Absolutely delicious food. Excellent service. The owner is so friendly and attentive. Seating is outside Al fresco under beautiful redwoods. Try the shrimp cocktail. Came from SoCal and had already tried a couple of Mexican restaurants that claimed to be authentic but was greatly disappointed, was about to stick with just burgers until I literally stumbled on this place walking from my hotel to get coffee from a place that sells churched up pop tarts that my daughter wanted, they don't open till noon but I kept them in mind for later in the day, my wife ordered the fish tacos, daughter had her usual carne asada tacos and me, well I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw they had lingua on the menu, I ordered 2 tacos, my wife loved here tacos (fish) said they were fresh, daughter loved her carne asada( she don't critique, just eats!) but my lingua? End of a fantastic day on the mountain and too tired to get cleaned up to go out to dinner. Plus, our usual place Maya's, was closed through the rest of the season. Guys at the gondola suggested swinging by Super Taco for take away. There is a small area of outdoor seating, but it was snowing like crazy, so take away sounded like a good plan. When locals who work nearby suggest a place, you listen . . . and we're so glad we did. One of us ordered the pork super burrito and I ordered the chicken regular burrito. We got back to our room, threw together a quick green salad and dinner was served! We were surprised to find a generous amount of tortilla chips and several containers of salsa (red and green) at the bottom of the bag too. Chips were thick, crisp and not greasy at all. Both green and red salsas were fiery but super tasty too. With the chips and the salad we'd made, we could only finish half a burrito each. That was no disappointment to be able to look forward to leftovers the next night though. The burritos were huge, packed full and super tasty. I think my taco order got messed up because someone else at my table also ordered marinated pork tacos and they looked much different than mine. If you're hungry and desperate, you have a this place. But if you can afford a 4 minute walk, go to the higher rates Mexican food spot around the corner. I was really hoping to like this place. Me coming from California I already knew I wasn't going to get good tasting Mexican food. As I expected. Food had NO FLAVOR!! none what so ever. Lettuce doesn't belong in a burrito. Customer service was bad. My girl orders 4 carnitas tacos and the tortillas weren't cooked . Oily meat with no flavor. I told them I would be back to try their asada fries but nope. I would never spend my money here again. 30$ for bland tasteless food. I do t understand how this place even has 4 stars.
