In a car with a 100 mile range that reduces to 60 or so on the highway, I realized it would be a Challenge. I needed a final charge to get me the last 30 miles. I researched my options, and found that Gutwein has a charger. I called and asked if I'd be able to use it, and they said, "Sure!" So I arrived with barely 5 miles left on the "tank" and found the charger blocked by a gasoline-using truck. Ut oh. But wait! Employee to the rescue! When they saw me pull up, one of their staff members immediately hopped up, turned on the charger, and moved the truck. I hung out for about an hour, used their bathroom twice, and they never tried to convince me to change cars or get my tires rotated or any of the other things I was afraid of. So, there are some good people there. If you're wanting to buy a car, check them out, if only because kind humans who do things out of that kindness, rather than from an ulterior motive, are few and far between.

When the truck wouldn't start, she recommended Ken's Repair Service in Reynolds IN. You never know what kind of repair service you're going to get when you breakdown on a busy interstate and my wife and I were a bit leery. But I could not be more happier with service that Ken's Repair Service provided. Ken looked at the truck and determined the fuel pump was the problem. He even added a little bit of gas just to be sure we were not out of gas. He dropped us off at a nearby Dairy Queen and went back with his tow truck to pick up my truck. It was early afternoon and Ken was able to locate a replacement pump. This was in addition to everything else he had going on that afternoon. It was delivered later that afternoon to his shop. We spent the evening with our daughter in Indianapolis. On Sunday morning, Ken replaced the broken pump and we were heading back to Chicago by noon. The towing charge, labor and parts were reasonably priced. Goods are just the main brands with prices quite optimistic and certainly taking advantage of anyone not using Google to notice the much larger travel stop a few miles west at the interstate interchange. I still enjoy dropping in a few times to support the local community, grab some energy, try one of the unique brands/flavors not sold most other places, and laugh at the prices for Red Bull. Seriously who is chucking out their hard earned cash for zesty caffeine?? My go to energy has ended up with the relatively healthy stuff called C4 I can only find at Big Lots but hey this place has ha covered for the immediate Route 24 amp up to keep driving. Overall, It is very nice in a small place, but I found it to be clean. I want to thank them for allowed the hubby to sit there for two hours in the twilight of the early morning! They were friendly and gave good directions and information about things around town; sorry, no names... They also had cheap gas. I hope I never go here again due to our situation, but yeah, this was a cool place!
