The stylist Tony Ramirez was awesome! He did a great job on my hair cut and the conversation was just right!

I took my 7 year old daughter here for a simple trim. I knew it was a risk going to a walk-in chain, but I felt that the cut we were asking for was fairly simple. We asked the stylist to cut about 4 inches and add some layering to take some weight off. The stylist spent about 10 minutes on her hair. She did not take the time to shampoo her. She did not add the layers we asked for. Before we left I checked the cut and noticed that it was boxy and very uneven. I asked them to fix it and the lady used electric hair clippers on the ends. I was unhappy with the end result and left because at this point they were butchering my poor little girls hair. The stylist said that her hair was hard to cut because it 'was too straight', and that it would 'calm down in a few days'. Once we were home I saw just how bad the cut really was. I called and ask to speak with the manager. I don't think that's who I spoke with, but when I voiced my frustrations she backed her employee and said that straight hair is hard to cut...and she did not offer me my money back. At this point I feel like they stole money from me since I couldn't let my child walk around with her hair as crooked and boxy as it was. I am fortunate to know Natalie at My Salon and she was able to fix my daughter's hair. Please look at the photo so you can see the difference between a hack job and a professional cut. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If the manager ever reads this and wants to make things right, feel free to look me up. read more

The 45-minute wait was acceptable for a Saturday morning. The icy cold reception was not. The stylist was awesome with my 11-year old daughter during her cut but REALLY grumpy with me when I in true "I'm obviously a single-dad and clearly don't know what I'm doing" mode tried to explain what kind of haircut my ex-wife wanted for her. The lady at the front counter was cold as ice. Easily a four star establishment if the customer service would improve a bit. I still left a $6 tip (on a $14 haircut) for the stylist because I figured everyone has a bad day, and she did a very good job with my daughter tricky hair. Problems with her man maybe? Considering giving them another chance ... hoping they are in better moods next time. read more

Katlyn the hair dresser was the worst person I ever encountered as a hair dresser. She discriminated against me and my son who is disabled. She totally yelled at me and when she cut my sons hair she acted like she was doing something disgusting. Horrible wait times and quick haircuts. Checked in at 4:15pm - wait said 15 -30 mins, I got there at 4:30pm in case I get seen sooner. 4:50pm and still not seen, other people were coming in after me and they were getting taken back for their haircut. I kept hearing the receptionist telling people that it was a 45-50 min wait. I really needed a haircut, so I tried to stick around for a little bit longer. 5:05pm and still nothing. Luckily, people were leaving due to the excessive wait time. I got taken back at 5:15pm, I wasn't even asked if I wanted my hair shampooed or blow-dried/styled. It was nice that they could get me in so quickly, but I am so disappointed to get one of the worst haircuts I have ever had. not only is there a sharp line across one side of my hair, bangs are uneven. The person even tried to comb my bangs straight back to make them work. I left feeling horrible. The girl seriously just walked off and went to the back room when she was done. This is my second time in with my boys who are 11 & 7. They are all extremely nice and give my boys exactly what they ask for. I also got my haircut on the first visit and was pleasantly surprised by how well she did. I'm horrible with names but you really can't go wrong with any of the stylists here. I went in yesterday and asked for a trim (1-2 inches and NO MORE than that) and SUBTLE long bangs that blend in to my hair. Definitely a haircut that would not be difficult for someone who knows what they're doing. Instead, what I left with was AT LEAST 3, probably 4, inches off the ends, choppy, uneven "bangs," and wayyy more layers on the right side of my head than on the left. It is noticeably awful. If I would've known I was going to pay $20 for someone to completely mess up my hair, I would have never stepped a foot inside this Supercuts. Do yourself a favor and get your hair cut by a professional stylist. Even if it does cost a few extra bucks, at least you won't have to deal with a mess afterwards. read more

So I went to Supercuts to get my haircut, the girl butchered my hair, cut it way to short I told her to stop cutting but she said it would help it blend better. It just made it worse I felt that the haircut was not able to be fixed. Just when I thought nothing else could go wrong she cut my ear. The haircuts are good and it's always as short wait when you check in online. They lose a star as all their stylists seem insistent on making conversation. Most times I'm tired at the end of the day and don't desire to make small talk, but they often don't catch on to that and continue asking me questions about my life. read more

I want to start off by saying I never write reviews, but I feel like this needs to be heard. It is my hope that store employees see this and the problem is addressed. My husband had gotten his hair cut the other day but it was a little longer than what he likes. So we went in together the next day to get it fixed. When we walked in the waiting room was empty and the woman that had previously cut his hair was available. My husband told the woman at the counter what he wanted, she politely explained that she had to put him into the computer as a "redo" for it to be free and that it would be almost a 30min wait because the manager had just gone on lunch. My husband told her he didn't want to wait that long and he didn't mind having the woman from the day before fix it. She again explained that it was store policy and apologized for the wait but said she'd have the hairdresser ask for permission because he requested it. The hairdresser went into the back and came back out with what I assume was a manager. This is where my issue happened, the manager that came out did not address my husband or myself at all. Instead she persisted to have a very blatant attitude with the lady at the counter. Saying that ONLY managers can do "redos" the lady at the front said she knows and she explained that but was asked to have someone else do it. It's like the manager didn't want to hear her out though and just walked away with an obvious eye roll. There are so many things wrong with what happened. To start if only management can do redos than why didn't she take my husband back herself? Why did she not address us? And why is it acceptable for management to be disrespectful to employees especially in front of customers. I know this is very long but I feel as though I have to explain everything for it to make sense. Again I hope this salon checks yelp and addresses the issue. Lost a star because we had to come back in the first place and lost another one for the uncomfortable position we as costumers were put in. Bravo to the lady upfront, if I was her I would have lost my cool but she remained calm and respectful. She even apologized for the wait again and gave us a stamp card for the inconvenience. read more

Still going here in 2012. I have been getting the same haircut for about 10 years and finally voiced my frustration to Krystal (I think thats her name) and she took it upon herself to spice things up and give me a new hairdo. I then came back and had Tony, he hooked it up with a frohawk...and then La'Tanya fixed it up for me the last time I went in. I have been getting nothing but compliments ever since. Left me unimpressed. My haircut was easy- all sides the same length- yet they didn't do the front evenly. The guy who did my hair rushed through it- nice that it only took 10 minutes, but just not a very good experience. And they wanted $14. Really? I won't be going back here soon. read more

Had a very good experience here. Tony is the manager and he has a nice coterie of stylists that can do more than a one-style-fits-all cut. My first cut wasn't so great due to a miscommunication. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I had wanted and I realized that I had needed to be more specific (the stylist can only read my mind every other day). Tony took the cut further for me and it ended up looking great. It is very hard to find a good cut at an inexpensive price in Chico, but Supercuts on Mangrove makes it easier. I went to Supercuts today (my hair was in desperate need for a cut). I'm new to the Chico area, and don't have a stylist or salon yet, so I decided to drop in to Supercuts. Kellie was awesome! She listened to my needs and was patient with me while I described how I wanted my haircut. She took her time and made sure that it looked just right. Even though they were busy and people were waiting, she did not rush (which is great!). Overall my haircut looks better than what I had expected, and I was so happy with the service I received. It's very easy to cut my hair wrong, but Victoria was locked in the whole way. She wasn't rushing to get me out, she knew what she was doing, and she was chill. Went in to get a trim, I think the girl cutting my hairs' name was like Tanya or something with a T. She had a lot of tattoos. I asked for an inch an a half to be cut off, & she cut off around 3 1/2 inches. More than twice what i wanted. She also left my hair soaking wet, it was literally dripping when I left, she didn't offer to blow dry it. She was nice, & my hair was cut well & even, just way too much off. I can't believe what a terrific haircut I got from Olivia. This is the best haircut I've gotten in years! Everyone puts down Supercuts, so I wasn't expecting much.
