I had Kaelee do a cut and color for me and I was so happy with her phenomenal service. She's such a lovely person and was very sweet through the 4 hours it took to work through my hair in order to get a balayage, or whatever variation of a balayage/highlights that I ended up requesting and getting haha. I went in with some reference images and she ended up foiling the hair and working very thoroughly to get it done. She also did great on the cut and I feel like a new version of myself! There was one part (likely due to how my hair was parted) that I felt like fell a little funny which I noticed the next day, and she's getting me in to fix it so I really appreciate the continued service and accommodation of a request. The pricing also felt more than fair, especially considering the time it took and the amount of hair I have which meant more product was needed. Overall, it was a great experience! I've been having Hannah cut my hair for several years now and I'm always happy when I walk out. Recently, I decided to cut my very long hair (almost to my waist) up above my shoulders. I appreciated that she asked me to wait to be sure it's what I wanted and then she requested some pics days before my appt so she could really get a sense of what I was thinking. Today was my first time here. It was a spur of the moment booking for the one day I was home between two long trips, since the person I go to regularly isn't working at the moment. Andrea got me in with Amanda just a day ahead of time, and was super on top of booking my appointment over Yelp/texting. I really appreciated how easy she made it when my schedule was so limited. Amanda was great! She was very friendly, on time, and did a great job on my hair. I liked how she checked out my hair when I came in as we were talking. She noticed the coloring and had even commented that the previous coloring would look good with the cut I wanted. It just made it feel more personal instead of being a head of hair in a chair. I don't reccomend going to Gianna for a balayage. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she didn't even do it. When I told her that and told her what I was expecting, she just kept trying to justify what she did. When I was clearly upset, she began to get frustrated and make faces. The last two images are what I sent and showed her. The more yellow blonde picture I showed her doesn't look like what I recieved due to the bleached bits rising too high and towards my part and being too thick. I also added the after picture she sent me. I wanted a blonde balayage. There are only the strands that frame my face that are genuinely blonde. She toned the remainder of my hair and didn't tell me I would need another appointment to get it to where the color needed to be when she was finished. She just left me with, "It's exactly like the pictures you showed me." After the toner was washed out, all of the hair, except those two strands, was very brassy and orange. I've been crying since I got it done. I spent almost $200 for something that I thought was going to be so beautiful right before my vacation. All in all, this was a horrible experience and I wish I could get my money back. Final update: I clearly told her that I was disappointed. I told her that the color, with the toner, was pretty, but I wanted it to be less "blonde" and by that I meant that I wanted my roots to be longer. I told her that I was not expecting it to turn out that way. She said it looked exactly like the pictures I sent her and was clearly upset. I was not offered an option of getting it fixed until after my review was posted. The only miscommunication was that I said it was "too blonde." She thought I meant the color, but I didn't. With the toner, the color was very pretty, even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted because it was still very brassy. If she didn't fully understand, she could have asked me to clarify. She did, however, offer me the complementary fix. However, she knew I was on the ropes because I told her exactly why I didn't like it. I wasn't offered the fix while I was there. I also took out that one curse word because I realized how unprofessional it was and took out information that was no longer relevant. read more

A couple months ago I let another hair stylist in Chico talk me into dyeing my hair rose gold. She showed me a picture and told me how beautiful it would look. I finally caved. However, my hair did not turn out rose gold....it was bright pink. Not a little pink, not baby pink....deep, overwhelmingly pink. It was a disaster. I tried everything over the next 2 months but I still had pink hair. Finally I decided to book an appointment with Chris because of his glowing Yelp reviews. I had had nothing but bad hair luck and I wasn't going to leave it to chance again. I definitely made the right decision. Chris was patient and listened to my concerns. He was sympathetic to the fact that this other person had ruined my trust in hair stylists and he made sure to explain everything he was doing to my hair. He was honest and forthcoming about what to expect. He gave me options about how I wanted to proceed (with his educated 2 cents thrown in, of course). I was in complete control and he was there to make sure that I got what I needed this time around. He WAS NOT hasty, big-headed, or snobbish. He WAS funny, personable, skillful, and adorable. In the end I got everything I wanted and more. He got all of the pink out of my hair, he made me an ash blonde, he gave me a great haircut, and I had a great time on top of it. I've gone to Julialynn for almost a year now. I came to her with damaged hair and a goal to make it healthy again. She helped me work out a plan of using olaplex, getting trims every 6-8 weeks, tricks to stay away from the hot tools and still keeping my hair a healthy blond. I'm one of those people who always wants to go blonder and she has a technique of making my blond bright enough so I'm happy but still protecting the health of my hair. My Experience (caps intended) included: a separate consultation where a plan of action was made, a hair cut, wash (ladies, he massages your neck, scalp, and shoulders=drool), application of toner/deep conditioning mix (this contained that beautiful color), and even offered to style afterward. I called and the nice receptionist scheduled me with Yadira, their newest nail artist. She is the best! Young, been practicing nails for over a year, with a fresh perspective. She just recently joined the salon, and the day I was there, she was fully booked! I showed her a few photos of what I wanted, and within an hour, my nails were perfect for my big day. She used gel polish on my regular nails, which I had never done before, but it was fun to learn. We chatted about weddings, all the things I was excited about, etc, and I really enjoyed my time with her. She made me feel welcome and calm. I plan to go see her again this summer! She totally cleaned up my super damaged, sad 'do with a simple, quick trim and offered me creative and helpful styling suggestions while I grow out an awkward side shave. She was attentive and checked in about what she was doing several times. She's super talented and has an eye for styling that is somewhat (surprisingly) rare to find in a stylist these days, my cut looks particularly awesome with my face shape and she is versatile with what she offers. I just moved to town beginning of July so I wasn't sure where to go. Many other salons had positive but just as many negative issues with management or results. This salon is right by downtown so it wasn't to far or hard to find. I was rather nervous because I hadn't cut my hair in over a year. My hair's long and thick so it needed a lot of attention to get the result I wanted. I had Dana as my stylist and at first impression super friendly and inviting. After I explained my issues in the past and how hard it could be to get the end result I wanted she just went from there and gave my hair the long time needed love. My hair feels so amazing I'm never going any where else so long as I live here in Chico. I highly recommend this place for anyone new that can't find a trustworthy place or someone that doesn't want to go from salon to salon. read more
