I had an appointment with Lisa at 6pm yesterday. I got there 10 minutes early. 10 minutes after my set appointment I was still waiting. Two other stylists had asked me if I been helped and I said I had an appointment with Lisa. They both said she was still with someone. Lisa never came to the lobby to let me know she was running late. I do not mind waiting but I feel it's not respectful of my time to not acknowledge me and let me know how long you'll be. After more waiting, I stood up near the stylists to show I'm waiting and wanted to ask if I should just reschedule. Both looked at me and didn't say anything and continued their conversations. After waiting another 5 minutes I just walked out. I hate writing a bad review but I feel service and respect is just as important as getting a good cut. read more

Had a great experience at the salon, I called for a last minute walk in and they booked me immediately. I was happy in the salon, but I guess I didn't take a good look at my hair... I came home to friends and family asking WHAT HAPPENED to my hair. From the front, it looks fine. The back is a whole different story (which I once again, did not see until I got home). I will not be going here again, as I was charged $40 for a horrific haircut that I now have to go get fixed- AND cut another inch off of my hair just to even it out. For years, I have been a loyal customer at SeelaDavid Salon. I have had mostly positive experiences, however, one recent experience left me feeling very uncomfortable, and for that reason, I will not be returning. On April 13, 2019, I had an appointment with Risa to get my hair done for my senior prom. I showed up to this appointment on time, checked in, and waited for my appointment to start. From what I recall, Risa was working on another client at the time of my appointment and was not available to see me. Janine, who no longer works at SeelaDavid, explained that she would be doing my hair instead, since Risa was with another client. Janine did a lovely job on my hair, and I was very grateful she was able to take me in, since I would otherwise have been late for the prom festivities. On Saturday, over two and a half years later, I had a 7pm appointment for a haircut with Risa. It was the first appointment I had booked with her since 2019. At the appointment, she confronted me about the "no show" that appeared in the system on April 13, 2019. Risa was infuriated and threatened to charge me $85 for my haircut appointment, since she had assumed I did not show up for my appointment that was scheduled almost three years ago. She also refused to provide the service. I explained what I could recall from that appointment multiple times, but she refused to listen. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and confused. It was by far the worst customer service experience I had ever had. I wish that Risa would have listened to my point of view, rather than assuming she knew everything about the situation. Regardless of what the situation had been, this was no way to treat a client. read more

I came here for a haircut before graduation. It was a big mistake. Sarabeth had to cancel my appointment because she was running behind. It would've been great to know before getting there. I rescheduled, but I regret doing that. My appointment was at 7:30pm and she didn't acknowledge me until 10 minutes after I arrived. She also didn't get to me until 25 minutes later. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have found Amanda Warren Banks and her beautiful salon. My hair has truly never looked better and she's a master at hiding my stubborn gray hairs that insist on popping up (so rude!). Amanda has also been styling my teenage daughters hair for several years, patiently working with her through illness and hair challenges. Always giving her time to chat and feel special. Paid $1,000 for extensions. They looked really bad and not blended. After I complained, she told me they look fine and I'm supposed to curl my hair and not wear it straight. Then was blaming my hair being too thick for the reason it looked bad and did not try to make things right. Refused to give refund. Sadly would not recommend this place for extensions. You know what the best feeling is? Coming out of the salon with a brand new haircut. Sadly, I did not experience that. I had a consultation ensuring Risa will understand what I wanted. It felt rushed. Don't let her overconfidence fool you. She didn't take the time to check on me especially it being my first time at a salon. She did what she wanted, and not what I wanted. When I would provide details or show examples, she brushed it off and acted like she knew what I meant. She did not! After not having enough of the color I requested, I came in again. Yes again. Something I regret. She cut my hair more into choppy layers and when she showed me my hair. I felt tears and rage inside. She's a nice person but I think she needs a humble check. She needs to think of the client needs. I hope no one experience this heartache. Too many of us, hair is everything. If you're going see her know EXACTLY what you want. Don't come with the notion that the stylist will listen or offer suggestions. Lesson learned and my hair will grow back. I write not to bash the Seela david salon or Risa. I had virgin dark brown hair and decided to get my hair dyed for the first time here with a balayage. I have no idea what goes into dyeing hair and I thought having virgin hair was a great start to dyeing. I had Risa, who is hilarious and very knowledgeable. She did not initially give me a balayage and went straight with the dye. The dye did not stick at all and she said it was because I used cheap shampoo, not because my hair is too dark. I felt very uncomfortable because she continued to bring this up throughout the rest of the appointment and I felt guilty because I'm a college student and don't spend $40+ on shampoo and conditioner each go around. I only get my hair professionally done once a year, maybe, because I can't afford spending $150 for coloring and cutting each time. My hair looked pretty good in the end, don't get me wrong because the job was pretty well done. A little too short for my taste. But I was feeling so heartbroken and ashamed throughout the rest of the appointment because I don't buy expensive shampoo. I was looking forward to this appointment and in the end I just felt so bad about myself and cried afterwards, which I feel shouldn't happen at a salon where the hairdressers want to make you feel beautiful. I would recommend this salon if you want good results but if you want to feel good on the inside, maybe go somewhere else. read more

Stopped in for a walk in men's haircut and was ignored for about 10 minutes until it was time for someone else to pay and was finally acknowledged. She was able to take me in and I asked just for a clean up of my current men's cut - shorten the sides and a little off the top. Seemed fine in the salon but when I got home I saw that the top was very uneven, she had buzzed a huge space around my ears and didn't even clean up the bottom of my neck which was the main reason I went in. The only way to fix the top is to go shorter which I didn't want to do. No attention to detail at all. Won't be going back. read more
