If I had not had that bad experience, this would be a 4 star, maybe 5 star review. But I am moderating it based on what I experienced in the past, while keeping an open mind for raising it in the future. Rosibel was my stylist for my haircut. She did a great job all around. My shampoo was relaxing, I could see her focused on getting my hair right while she did the actual cutting, and her blow dry styling was wonderful. Even my husband noticed, and he doesn't really pick up on that stuff. I was so happy with how my hair looked, it felt like a shame that I was just going home, haha. I wanted to show it off, and that is not my typical post-haircut mood.

Instead my undercut had tuffs of hair left in spots, my hair was cut into the shape of a helmet (front and back dramatically shorter than sides), none of the layers were blended and the right side is almost 2 inches longer than the left. I have been going to the Orlo for my hair since I was a teenager. I have stopped going as often in the last 5 yrs or so do due more upsetting haircuts than good ones I will be going to a Salon to have this corrected as best as possible.

On top of it all, my parents made a check to them and it bounced! I will say they fixed the problem within 48 hours but the problem should not have occurred. Wanted to get it dyed a golden blonde. There was a lot that went wrong with my appointment but I'll start with this: They left the lightener in my hair for THREE AND HALF HOURS. My hair is absolutely destroyed - it feels brittle and coarse, and now my hair has lost all its natural volume and waves. But let's detail the other things: 1) This whole process took 7 hours for someone to overbleach my whole head of hair and cut it. 2) After bleaching my hair, the stylist added a golden blonde toner - this is confusing because typically after bleaching you want to use a blue or purple based toner to counteract the yellow/orange that typically remains after bleaching. So then my hair was Bart Simpson yellow, while the stylist was all "wow! what do you think?" And I had to say "uh, this is really yellow." Then she admitted that she was really nervous and didn't want to say how yellow it was to me and didn't know how to fix it. The instructor fixed it with a neutralizing toner. Still looks more yellow than is natural, but I don't look like a cartoon. 3) Despite me saying that my hair is fine and dry, I was shampoo-ed twice and then blow-dried with pretty much no moisture added or any heat protectant used. After being blow-dried my hair looked stick-straight and frizzy out of control. That was the point I wanted to cry, because I had pretty healthy, full hair before this whole process, and it had never looked so damaged. 4) I've gotten my hair cut here twice, including this time, both times asked for layers, and both times had the stylist panic about doing layers. I don't know what is going on there. 5) Also, I originally had made an appointment for during the week, but when I showed up they said they had to reschedule because they weren't informed that I wanted to get lighter hair, despite me telling the desk when I made the appointment. I'm never going back, this was honestly really devastating and I was really looking forward to having nice blonde hair. I realize they're students but I can't believe I paid over $60 and spent 7 hours on a Saturday having someone destroy my hair that I'm now going to have to pay a professional salon to fix.

The time came where the groupon had nearly expired -- given that I am a terrible procrastinator -- and Kristin worked VERY hard with me to find a time where I could come in. All of the services that I received were exceptional, and although I haven't had my hair done by Kristin yet, she is a kind and welcoming individual who always seems glad to see me. Since that first time, I have been in every couple of months for one person in particular: Amy, the aesthetician of my dreams. Amy is my guru, my hero, my Yoda. When I first came in, I had (with all of the best of intentions) completely destroyed my skin. I had been using various products I knew very little about in an attempt to treat my acne which had actually happened as a result of the astringent products I was using making my face extremely sensitive! To hide this from others I was piling foundation and concealer onto my face, which prevented any kind of healing. Amy knew instantly what was wrong and had all sorts of recommendations to make. Every day my skin looks better, and each time I go to Kristin's her smile shows me how drastic the change has been. In fact, with the exception of a tinted SPF I have been using, I have almost completely ceased to use make-up. I don't need it! My skin is incredible! Although everyone at Kristin's will make your day and make you feel fabulous, I cannot recommend Amy's services highly enough. My sister (also an aesthetician) had been telling me for months to find a professional and get real advice about my skin, and her advice led me to this person who made a HUGE difference in my self-image and confidence. When I drove up to the salon and noticed the poorly kept front of the building, I became hesitant…read moreto enter but made excuses as to why it could look like it did (overgrown weeds, chipped paint, etc) and I entered anyway and was greeted by Sabrina who was very friendly and chatty so, contrary to my gut, I had a seat for cut, color coverage of greys, and addition of highlights for "sun-kissed" look. I walked out with cranberry/orange hair for the first couple of inches of hair throughout my head, the rest of the hair a mousy brown. All of it brittle the next day after washing out the palm full of product she put in my hair after washing out the toner. The first pic here is my natural color that I wanted her to mimic over the greys. As to the highlighting before putting toner in, my hair was completely white where streaks of highlighting was to occur but she told me not to worry as she'll darken it up to the desired carmelly color with toner. I have no highlights (pic 2). My hair is "crispy" - I am particularly upset as I am hosting my company retreat in two weeks. I asked Sabrina for a refund of the cost of the color and highlights (indicating I liked the cut) but she has not responded to same. I paid $330 to have my head trashed. It's beyond embarrassing to walk about with such an ugly head of hair when I have been blessed with beautiful auburn color all these years. Just saddened beyond words. I should have listened to my gut!
