I give this review 4 stars mostly because my experience with this Supercuts has been great. Nelly was my stylist for years, and I never planned on going elsewhere. When she took a leave I started going to Mirsada, I have been happy with everything she's done for me. Now with that said, good luck calling for an appointment when Sonia answers the phone. The online service for booking was poor- but that's a system flaw. Traveled from one Supercuts to the next- landed at the Scarsdale location. If you get the chance to sit in Eva's chair- she's lovely! I've many experiences, I've paid high salon prices many times. This was just a simple trim I was going for- nope, Eva cleaned up my layers, evened out all the dead, she didn't take more than what I was comfortable with- checked in well before just cutting- never had a stylist ask before the snip! My goal of a trim ended up being a gorgeous bob which is perfection! I so love this cut! Already did the home check- and nope- it's still perfect. I don't know why this place take appointments. They are never ready. The barber show up late or not at all. You wait 15 minutes just so some that's already been waiting is next . So maybe you will get a hair 45-60 later then your appointment. If a walk in comes in right in front of you they get a hair before you even though you have appointment. Well, boy, this location changed my attitude about Supercuts! I got a great cut, and the staff was really sweet and helpful. My daughter needed a simple hair cut. I asked for a couple inches and long layers. I've never seen anyone cut hair the way it was done, and the final result looks less than mediocre. And, there are no layers in the back. The stylist looked frazzled, dropped the brush and hair dryer and seemed to be in a rush for an other customer. Every time I come to this place, it's a huge disappointment but when you need a quick cut for a child, it's easier than making an appointment at a salon. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I went to Supercuts in scarsdale for first time. I requested color and cut. I moved appointment to saturday as my 5.00 appointment could not have color done in time period. I had Eva as my stylist. Very pleasant. Just wanted basic cut but needed color done. She cut length on my back of my head not too much on sides. Problem i had when we were deciding on color. She said they didn't have too many colors and suggested i come back another time and started to take my cloth off. I needed color done then and should not have been rushed out . She showed me colors and look to see what would match best. Found color and came out fine. Barely conditioned my hair and she quickly dried my hair and did not offer any product (gel/cream) I understand you have walk ins waiting, but first time customer should not get rush treatment. I got the worst haircut of my life yesterday by Jessica. I explained that I just dyed my hair, showed her a picture of what I got before then she buzzed the whole backside of my head. This cut makes no sense at all. During the haircut she kept dropping the one side of the scissors on my head and the comb. It looked and felt like she had no idea what she was doing with the scissors. When I told her that she cut my hair too short in the back she got mad at me, didn't apologize, and said that's the only length buzzer they have. She didn't dry my hair or even blow off the hairs after. The parts the didn't shave off are choppy and look terrible. I left feeling disrespected and horrified by this haircut. read more

Eva chopped off all of my daughter's hair. She told her before the hair cut that she only wanted 1/2 inches off, because she needed to be able to fit all her hair in a ponytail. Now it is very uneven and half of it fits in a ponytail. What is she supposed to do now when she plays sports? A 2 year old could do better than this. I would give it -15 if I could. read more

I just went here for the worst haircut of my life. I knew from when I walked in that I should have left. After having a positive experience at Supercuts before, this one was closer than where are usually go so I decided to try it. I asked for a bangs trim just out of my eyes, but instead with dull scissors that she was trying to sharpen on a rock (not sure if that is normal but probably not while cutting the clients hair) I lost about an inch of hair and it is very uneven. Not sure what can be done about this but I wouldn't go to this location again. read more

I was skeptical to get my hair cut here, I assumed the chain name would mean they wouldn't do the best job. I decided to go after reading some yelp reviews. I came in 15 minutes before they closed on a Sunday (they close at 5) and they still took me for a cut. Everyone in the salon was very nice and polite. I didn't wait long at all for a cut and there were quite a few people in there already. I forgot to ask my stylist's name, but she did a great job. She did everything I asked, I wanted to cut off 6 inches and keep it layered. She didn't do anything extra, and gave me honest styling advice when I asked for it. I'm newer to the area and in desperate need of a hair cut. I looked at local groupons in the area trying to "find" a stylist. Nothing seemed intriguing. I saw a commercial for Super Cuts and I started to look into it. After a little bit of website research and checking out the other Yelp reviews, I thought why not. I visited the Scarsdale location on the morning of New Years Eve. I was expecting it to be busy that day so I went in early. When I arrived there was one person in the chair (Irene was cutting her hair) and there were two other stylists available to see me. Irene asked who would like to cut Anne's hair and the petite, enthusiastic stylist April said she would. I opted for wash, cut and blow dry. I have attachment issues with my hair. Getting a hair cut is worse then going to the dentist for me. April was very good at listening and suggested a long layered look with some sweeping bangs. April is calm and was able to give me exactly what I needed. I've paid over $100 in the past for a cut ---never again. With a hair cut, product purchase and a nice tip I spent less than $55. I am a first time customer and I must say I was very satisfied with my haircut. My stylist was Mahogany (my apologies if I spelled her name wrong). She was very gentle throughout the whole process of wash, haircut, and blow dry. She listened to my requests especially when I said that I wanted no more than an inch cut (i just wanted to get rid of my dead ends). I always go in thinking that the stylist will cut more than what I want but this was not the case. My hair was still at a good length even after a cut. I asked for layers. And she gave me layers. She wasn't trying to be fancy with it or anything. She simply gave me what I wanted. In conclusion, i was a bit skeptical about "supercuts" hair salons but i was happy i gave it a chance. I saw Eva yesterday, 2/27. I had a previous bad experience in a salon near my home a few weeks ago; I was not able to get to Supercuts at that time to see Eva. She greeted me as usual, friendly, professional and concerned about the wreck my hair had become. She colored it and even with the bad hair cut she made it look great. Eva has been my stylist for five years. She is always professional and has a phenomenal memory. She greets each of her clients as a friend and remembers their family, situations and even their pets. So I work with individuals who have learning disabilities as well as physical one. They are high on the spectrum. My client needed a hair trim so I called my salon and was going to take her there but she saw the Supercuts location that she always goes to so she asked we go there. Cool no problem. We walk in and the place is basically empty. Now mind you it is 5:00 p.m. on the dot. There's a woman and her child walking out there's another client doing hair color or something. So the lady asks how she can help and looks up her name. Fine cool. I tell her she needs her hair washed and trimmed up, with splint ends as well. While she's washing her hair I welcome to the back and I tell her, excuse me can you also do a deep conditioning on her hair because her hair is dried and she doesn't have much of a routine at home. She tells me yes okay no problem. I walk away and sit down and my client and the lady are walking behind me and she getting in the cutting chair. So I'm just watching like hold on what kind of hair wash was that? So I asked my client how many washes did she do? She said two!!! Two. Basically one shampoo and regular conditioning. So now that she cutting her hair. I ask the women excuse me but what happened to the conditioner. Oh yeah I did it. Ma'am I asked for a deep conditioner in her hair. She says well that's 15 minutes, yes I know that, that's why I asked for it. I told you her hair is dry and she doesn't do anything with it at home. She says oh well we do t even have the conditioner for that treatment type but I can do it with regular conditioner. Ahhh no, no thank you. You can forget it. So now she's asking my client is your hair dry to you need or want extra conditioner. Ma'am I asked you for her because she doesn't fully understand what caring for her hair means. Can I tell you that the receipt in my pocket reads that we checked out at 5:16!!! You tell me what woman ever going to the salon and is in and out in less then 20 minutes. Ladies! Please tell me where they do that. Like what kind of hair washing was that. I am so beyond upset. Because just because Individuals aren't what we consider mainstream does not mean that they can get the full experience that all of us like, want, and deserve when we are paying for services. This place is the worst. Can I give 0 star? We had a horrible time the first time around but decided to give them a second chance. Second time was just as bad. We made reservations online but the employees still decided to take other people who arrived later before us so we ended up waiting forever. One time my son was already in the chair and ready to start and they made him get off in order to take someone else who just walked in. Seriously? How can anyone stay in business this way?
