Took us 4 plus years to find Eric!! If you have a teenage boy, there is no other barber for them. Trust me! Eric is legit. If you speak Russian, that's a plus when scheduling. Terrible master! My husband grew a beard for a long time, was excited and happy and just wanted to shape his beard and make it more accurate. As a result, Master Artem simply trimmed his beard very short, although he was asked not to touch the length! My husband is terribly upset, because he has been growing a beard for so long.. Artem also made a terrible haircut, or rather did not make it at all! Just shaved off a little weight and everything else remained in the same form! I'm terribly disappointed! read more

I am a regular customer here, and I cannot say I've ever had a pleasant experience with the staff. The front desk employees are always very rude and make it clear that they do not want to be there. Some of the barbers are very friendly and take direction well; but I've had plenty bad experiences with rude barbers who will only do what they know, and make you feel dumb for telling them how you want your hair. I don't think I've ever walked out of this place being satisfied with how my hair turned out. Also, the prices continue to go up and are pretty unreasonable. read more

My only gripe is the online system i chose a cut and beard trim however when i got there it had me see 2 seperate stylists!!! Which is not proper time management especially during a busy friday!!. Been going to city masters now for about 6 months .. I use Lucine (Lucy) she's is the best she also cuts my 2 1/2 year old grandsons hair for the past year or so and he loves her. I grew up going to those "hole in the wall" barber shops, for my haircuts, opposed to more mainstream places, like Supercuts. I used to believe those run-down spots were the only places to get a dope fade from someone who had legit buzzer skills and held the buzzer with confidence. So, I would pay $20 and settle for poor service, loud music, old equipment, and an unsanitary environment. However, about three years ago, I needed a quick cut and discovered City Master Barbers and wasn't disappointed. The first thing you will notice is how clean and crisp the establishment was. Secondly, how every chair has its own personal tv with satellite! Generally, the entire shop is very modern with nice decor, a chill ambience, and up-to-date equipment. Next thing you'll notice are the female barbers...which, honestly, made me skeptical at first, but don't let that fool you. I've had bad experiences in the past trying to explain to previous female "hairdressers" at other places the difference between a tape up and a high fade. Nonetheless, these are female barbers and they seemed to know exactly how to buzz and cut any hair, everything from a comb over to a low fade to a skin fade and execute all styles with that woman's neat touch. They are also a couple guy barbers too in case thats just your preference. I've had my hair cut by almost all the barbers and never had an issue. All the barbers are legit. Besides haircuts, they also offer a wide range of additional services, from facials to waxing. In addition, this isn't just a barber shop for guys, its also a beauty salon for women. Overall, I feel like I get more value for a $15-20 haircut here than a majority of barber shops I've been to whether in jersey or the city. I'd highly recommend checking it out to anyone. read more

My son went to get his haircut and asked for a 2 on the sides and scissor the top and asked for them to blend it. I don't know where that translated to cut through the cowlick in the back of his head and leave one side an inch higher than the other with absolutely no blending. He came home upset and looking like Toadstool from Super Mario after a bar fight. He wound up having to have his hair buzzed all the way down to a 2 all around because it was so uneven it could not be fixed. Never again. read more

I'm either so last minute with appointments or there was an urgent situation like this one. I made an appointment for the next day for my 2 1/2 year old son who needed a shape up right away due to a mishap. We arrived 10 minutes before our appointment and was greeted and taken to the chair right away. Alena was a sweetheart with my toddler who was really shy and afraid and refused to sit him down alone, so I had to sit with him so that he would remain calm. No good! I saw a good review for Glen with a perfect fade. Relieved to finally see a barber that can do a good fade I made an appointment. I asked for a mid fade. I came home, my wife wanted to know if I was joining the army. The fade/cut was terrible. There was no fade and my head was completely shaved all around up to the top of my head. Then where the shaved head met the top of my head where there was hair, was not even, rather blotchy. DO NOT RECOMMEND...Disappointing. read more
