I already had experience driving so I came to this driving school just to prepare for the drivers test and refresh my mind a little bit. But, the five hour class instructor was so friendly and explained everything in an interesting way. And Adolfo the driving instructor helped calm my nerves about the driver's test and was very informative when teaching me to park and explaining the rules of the test. Everything was super easy: rescheduling lessons, getting in touch with them, and prices were reasonable! Overall highly recommend this driving school. Don't waste your money, very unprofessional. First time I called, the weekday girl "was" nice when I was asking about their bundles. Second time I called to know when I can come in and how the schedule looks like, the weekend lady was annoying. She asks you what days you are free and you say which ones, she can't understand then you have to specify, but then if it's full she just says "oh we have nothing available for that day" and then offers NO suggestion whatsoever. You have to carry the conversation. Will get you frustrated, trust me. Bad customer service. It gets worse with this weekend lady, I come in and pay, they don't take card and I had only some cash so she said it's okay just bring the rest of the cash on the first day of the class. We agreed. Then, she says ok let's schedule your classes. She does the same exact thing she does on the phone: asks what days you are free, you say every monday, then she asks what days again! So you have to say the date for the upcoming monday if you want to do that! Then if it's unavailable she just says oh it's booked. Then awkward silence. So you have to carry the conversation with them, def do not give a shit about you. Fast forward, we spent at least 45 minutes scheduling my classes AND I WAS STANDING THE WHOLE TIME!! I was not offered no seat no water, nothing. So that was a whole red flag. But you know what, I was like ok it's whatever let me just get it over with. Fast forward, I take my first class. Guy was nice. But at the end of the class, he just gets out the car and does NOT tell me we have ended. No "see you next time ok?" Or "ok, our session is done" he just goes on to say hi to other coworkers with no regard of his customer. Then, after first class, a week later: I wake up to email notifications saying my classes got cancelled. NOBODY CALLED ME TO INFORM WHY THEY WERE DOING WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND MY TIME STANDING FOR 45 MINUTES DEALING WITH THE WEEKEND LADY WHO WAS VERY FRUSTRATING WAS WASTED. I call right away, first time the phone got picked up somebody laughed and dropped the call. Then, second time I called, it was the weekday girl that picked up and I did not have to explain what my situation was she knew who I was but did not explain anything at all. Then, I decided I was done. Fucking ridiculous. Very unprofessional. I come in, weekday girl was there. No thorough explanation. You have to know what questions to ask or you're losing information. Came in today and brought one of the package deals. First step is to have the 5 hour certificate course; the man teaching the class was great and really did care about safe driving. Unlike other places, he spoke to us and made the class participate, which was great. Do you realize what happens when a business spends less on rent? It passes the savings to the customer. I loved taking lessons with Adolfo, you need to work with him as he's working with you. I passed my test on my first try, the pre-test practices definitely help. If you're upset about anything with this place, it's because you're upset you didn't pass your exam. Wow.. Disregard the bad reviews! I worked with so many instructors here due to my crazy schedule, and each of them are very insightful and experienced in different ways. My best friend had Adolfo and she said he's super patient and offers many techniques to see which one you're more comfortable with. I took most of my classes with Oublal and he's awesome! I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Superior Driving School, but more specifically with my instructor Adolfo. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and knew exactly how to help me pass the road test. I had taken 10 lessons with a competing school in Queens a year prior and went into my first exam barely knowing how to parallel park and (not surprisingly) did not pass. I was discouraged and let significant time pass before picking up driving again. I'm so glad I moved to this school as Adolfo helped me regain my confidence, always made sure he was the instructor that was scheduled on my planned lesson dates, and took me out one on one to the road test so I could practice beforehand. I do not write reviews but I hope that my experience at this place help everyone including how this facility is been managed. I had my first driving lesson and road test already scheduled and a day before I received a call cancelling my lesson because the instructor was sick. At that point, I could not make it to my road test without a lesson and I will lose a day of work . Somehow I understood that it was an emergency and it happens especially now. After I failed my road test, I immediately made another road test appointment with the front desk receptionist for the next month (since appointments are far out). I received two text messages one to confirm my road test date, which I replied and then the other one was sent one or two weeks after, which said the road test date and to come in to the office to make the payment. Therefore, I went to the office and to my surprise the receptionist did not find my appointment and she said that it was a mistake from the other two receptionists and she will find out what happened and will email the DMV as well. I am very upset because I will be losing a day of work and probably wait 5 more weeks until the next appointment. They must do something about it and accommodate me for the day I scheduled. Having no prior experiencing with driving what so ever, I really took my time to research what school was best for me and that's when I came across this school. I looked at their prices and they seemed reasonable. I proceeded to go into the office and book the 11 class package which are 45 minutes each. In the beginning, I was specific and said I wanted no more than 2 different instructors. I also specifically requested Adolfo due to his positive reviews on here. At first, I did take my classes with Adolfo. However, after my third class his schedule didn't seem to work with mine or he was always fully book. It's also important to note that you don't book your classes with the instructors, you have to call the office book it directly with one of the receptionist. Unfortunately, this is how issues began... The only reason I'm giving this school 4 stars out of 5 is because of their receptionist, Janet. She's a nice lady, however, she makes WAY too many mistakes! There were so many mistakes made with my classes that I honestly lost count. I remember speaking to her on the phone once trying to schedule my classes and I SPECIFICALLY remember confirming a specific day with her and us agreeing on it. However, when the day came along I waited outside and no one showed up. I decided to call and of course, Janet answered. I told her the problem and she began to act like we never agreed on that day. Even though I remember and jotted that day down on my calendar. After me getting upset and going back and forth with her, she did end up apologizing, but continued to make mistakes... There was also an occasion where she made a mistake with my address and I ended up waiting outside for over 25 minutes for my instructor to arrive... Can you guys see how stressful this was? If you're booking your classes I would definitely recommend speaking to one of the other young ladies available... Their communication skills exceed far more. Also, I had a total of 5 different instructors throughout my experience here. I took classes with Adolfo, Edgar, Ken, George and Victor. It's important to note that I also paid for 2 extra classes voluntarily because I felt like I needed more practice).One good thing about this was that I was able to learn many things from each one. BUT, I didn't like how I was constantly driving different cars and being told different things... however, I would like to address how WONDERFUL VICTOR & EDGAR were! I only took 2 classes with each one, but I immediately felt their vibe and noticed how knowledgeable and awesome they were! They made me feel comfortable and didn't reprimand me for my mistakes, but instead gave me advice on how to fix them. If you've going to take classes here I would DEFINITELY recommend them both! They're sweethearts! Now, moving onto the day of my test. Adolfo drove me and another young lady the the location. He also allowed me to practice for 5 minutes prior to arriving to the location which was awesome! I took my test in the Whitestone location. At first, I was worried because the streets are narrow, but now I completely think it was the best choice for me. It's a calm residential area and I believe that's what helped me PASS! I was so happy I passed! It's definitely a big accomplish for me. All in all, I would recommend this school. The receptionist was very friendly and was managing multiple phone lines while trying to assist me with any inquiries all by herself. The office is not that big but it's still clean and fresh. They had 3 packages averaging prices from 270, 450, 550. Each package comes with more or less lessons depending on the price, 5-hour pre lisencing class and road test/car rental. I had my 5 hour class the day of my registration, in a group of 8 other students we were educated by Abdul who was very educational, informative, and definitely passionate about safe and defensive driving. I took driving lessons and rented a car for my exam. I passed and am really grateful to my instructors for everything they taught me. Edgar and Adolfo were my instructors and they helped me out a lot. Edgar even gave me a mock road test right before the exam even though I didn't have a lesson slotted for the time before the exam. Firstly, Adolfo is THE best. He was so patient with me and made sure to point out all of the areas where I needed work on with my driving. During my lessons Adolfo had toy cars to visually instruct me on how to parallel park, do a 3 point turn, etc., and it really helped. I took my road test today and PASSED! Edgar was awesome. I took the test once 7 years ago and just didn't bother scheduling it again. After driving all these years I needed to brush up my skills for better test taking. Edgar was perfect. He was patient, explained things in a way that sticks in your head, and was very pleasant. I'll be referring my siblings to him as well when it's time for them to take the test. I just passed my road test today and I owe that to this school. I'm a 32 year old guy who never had any experience driving. Superior gave me the confidence I needed to pass that road test. I took the Beginner's Class since I didn't have any experience behind the wheel, and in those classes, I had 3 different instructors. First of all, I want to give thanks to Ublal, who was really patient to me. I'd say, he's the main guy for me coz I learned most of my driving skills from him. He loves to talk about almost everything, so driving wasn't boring. I'd say he's very professional, and a very nice guy. Secondly, thanks to Oscar, I only had a couple of driving lesson with him, but this guy is so calm and he mixes humor while teaching me. This guy is so professional. And last but not least, Adolfo, the owner. A person who's very mild-mannered. This guy is so professional and treats all people with respect. I could just tell by his demeanor when he drove me to the road test site and after passing my road test. He's very nice. I cannot think of any negative in this school. They took care of me, driving-wise, as if they're your brother. The school was recommended by a friend that took her lessons a year ago and passed her driving test on her first try. I have driven for about a year with my permit, but I needed a brush up with my parallel parking and I needed to take the 5 hour class. Superior Driving was near where I live and I knew people who took lessons here, so I signed up for a 5 hour class at first. I thought it would just consist of videos and be very boring since I had a 5pm to 10pm class, but it totally was not. The class was interactive, and the instructor was very, very funny! He added stories to the class, and it didn't feel like 5 hours at all. So, to the actual driving lessons. The instructor would pick me up right in front of my house at the exact time. They were really patient and funny! They taught me short cuts for the test and were extremely helpful. Also, they would call my phone to remind me about my driving test and if I would have a different instructor for my lesson for the next day. I had 4 driving lessons and I passed the road test on my first try! Also, I found their prices to be cheaper than the driving schools in the area. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Superior Driving School was a really great place to learn to drive. I went to the 5 hour pre licensing course in late February, it was helpful in reiterating following the rules, that you always to need to beware of those around you, and no driving while impaired. I had the beginner lesson package and started lessons on March 7, however they were stopped due to Covid after March 15. I started them up again in July 21, and continued until August 20, 2020. I took my first road test on August 20 in Astoria Park and passed. The ladies at the front desk were always understanding and kind when scheduling my upcoming driving lessons. I really recommend driving with Adolfo or Oublal. I changed from one to the other due to my inability to keep the original schedule of lessons and switched to a different day with a new instructor. Oublal is really attentive to your mistakes and makes sure to remind you of what you are doing incorrectly, until it becomes a habit and you learn to correct yourself. This is really helpful because over time I started pointing out my own mistakes and making sure I didn't do them again. Adolfo was more laid back but when I made a mistake during our lessons we would repeat the same turn, parallel parking or other technique until I got it down well, over and over. I'm really glad I got to work with both of them because their different teaching styles were beneficial in different ways, and both made me feel comfortable driving around different neighborhoods and entering highways. I also recommend booking double lessons if you can, one right after the next, because one lesson goes by really quickly and it feels like you didn't do much, that's just my personal opinion though. read more

This place was horrible. I showed up at the defensive driving class and the class was cancelled because something happened to the instructor. In the meantime, I heard the receptionist said on the phone that the instructor will show if one more person comes. So they just cancelled the class because not enough people were there. This business was misleading because they told me over the phone that classes are held Tuesday and Wednesday evening but in reality that only happens when they have enough people. I was really annoyed with them because I arrange for someone to baby sit my daughter thinking I was going to take this class. I will not go back to them. read more

I had to keep calling (often going straight to voice mail) and taking trips every few days to finally get a response of a test in Astoria for another two weeks away. I told them if they are able to find an appointment at Kissena or Cunningham park, let me know and switch it for me. Yesterday, I went to my scheduled test in Astoria (missed a full day of classes and work) to find out they cancelled it and scheduled to one three weeks away in Kissena without notifying me. I have tried to reach out to Superior and have not heard a response. Instructors are decent, receptionists need work on. Very unprofessional. read more
