I highly recommend this school. The staff is super nice, all the instructors are great and they show they really care about their students. I tried the road test with a different school a few months ago, and I failed twice because they didn't teach me anything, so I was very nervous, frustrated and totally unprepared when I started my driving lessons here. Ivan was my instructor, he taught me all the things I needed to know to pass the test and helped me to regain my confidence. On the day of the test another instructor drove me to the site and while getting there he reviewed all the rules and gave some tips that were very useful when I was later tested. I passed the test on that day with no problem. I am so grateful to this school and to Ivan, thanks to them I got my driver licence. read more

I don t recomment I had a very bad experience making the worse mistake ever... Maybe some of the instructor are nice i don t know i can t talk in general...but one of them with the name eddie the wrong choice. I had a very bad experience .first of all the office always give you good information etc etc...but you will realize that you are paying a lot of money for nothing, they charge you 400 and somenthing for 11 classes 45 minutes...if you are begginer wrong mistake....don t pay that.. I had my 5th lesson with that person called eddie very ignorant person..coming late and rushing you while he is teaching ...and very bad educated...treating you like you already know how to drive perfectly..no manners...of course i told him..you know what he did? Disgusting situation he got mad saying that i dont know what i just did...he said that he is the owner of the company he asked to get off the car yealling traying to minimizing me...saying inappropriate words like he is not in the mood and has no time to deal with people like me bla bla bla .and also saying that he doesnt care if after that i complain about that beacuse he was the owner... I complaing to the office of course they appologize...the next day they confirmed they said that person had a very bad family day..Lol I am not suppose to know and care about it.the professional are they not me... So i don t recoment to people who want to learn driving paying a lot of money...to get your liscence you just have to pay your certificate 40 dollars..that s it... rent a car with somebody who has licence...go away and practice all day without pressure instead of paying 39 dollars per 45 minutes pluss you don t know what king of instructor would be. The Dmv want just the certifacate(5hours) your learnen permit.and the car for your test... You can learn and practice....don t let people treat you badly.and cheat you. I thought they follow a standard how to teach but they don t ..each of them have their own style. they just look like they want the time go fast to finish the class. Very bad..... I inquired with three schools before making my decision. My review on the receptionists is given in comparison to the experience I had at another school, which I wish I had chosen over this one. I chose this school because of the good reviews given to it. What a mistake!!! I found the receptionists to be unprofessional, unapologetic when they should have been and, most importantly, dis-informed about the services offered by the school. I dealt with four different people: two in person and two on the phone and my experience has been equally below standards of common courtesy and professionalism with all of them. I was less than impressed by the office when I went to it, but I only needed to take the five hour class and overlooked the lack of cleanness, stuffy air quality due to lack of proper ventilation and general poor appearances. I overlooked all of that because of the good reviews about the class, and how the instructor is able to make it pleasurable. I was wrong again. I have no term of comparison with another school because obviously I did not take the class twice. The class is held in half of the already small office space which is divided in two by a cubicle divider. There are no windows and there is no ventilation. You can smell the old stained carpet. If you suffer from allergies you do not want to spend fiver hours in this space. Once again, despite the previous reviews, I found the instructor to be patronizing, utterly boring, and I could do without his easy rhetoric on what this country has become in his eyes. I learned nothing from the class, the second part of which was literally spend reading pages a chapter of the driver's manual one has to study to take the written test--meaning one already had that knowledge. I could not wait to get out of that room, and from the look of the faces of other people around me I could tell I was not the only one sharing that sentiment. He was not engaging people most of whom, including myself, were not laughing at his jokes or answering his questions. Again, I cannot compare this class with one held at another school, but I can say that if--hypothetically speaking--I had to take this lesson again I would absolutely not go back to this school, nor would I recommend it to anybody. read more

I had a great experience here, took the 5 classes deal package which I found to be a lot cheaper than other places around the Queens area. I passed my road test first time, Adolfo was my instructor and he was extremely helpful in preparing me for the day of my exam. The location is small but I didn't really care about that since most of my time is spent practicing on my driving anyways. Staff was helpful in scheduling lessons and the times of the lessons were pretty flexible, a HUGE PLUS, since I attend school and work full-time. read more

Really great driving school. As far as service goes, you get a lot for what you pay for. The receptionists are great; they will work with you to schedule your appointments, and they call you the day before your lesson to remind you of your lesson. I bought the 16 classes + 5 hour + road test package. The five hour is probably one of the better five hour classes you can take. The instructor was incredibly insightful and entertaining throughout the class. This was my second time taking a five hour, and I was impressed that the instructor was able to fill most of the time speaking and engaging students. We didn't watch videos the entire time, which was very different (and better) than the five hour I took in Albany, NY. The driving lessons were great. Adolfo was my instructor and he went above and beyond my expectations. He was always on time, always in a great mood and maintained a positive attitude throughout the lesson. Before I started at Superior, I had less than one hour of driving experience. I was really pleased that I passed the road test my first try. Before I started taking classes, I was really nervous about things like parallel parking and doing broken U-turns, but Adolfo has everything down to a science. He made me try parallel parking my very first lesson and I nailed it because of his formula. Ignore the bad reviews. If you have reasonable expectations, and do your best during your lessons, you'll be incredibly happy with Superior Driving School. They really go the extra mile for you. read more

I don't understand the positive reviews for this school. I have so many complaints. First off the 5 hour class was absolutely painful. The instructor did not teach one useful thing. He spent the entire time impersonating shakira, telling us personal stories and talking about how cars make men aroused. This lasted for OVER 5 hours. Trying to schedule lessons was a nightmare. I work in a job where my schedule changes weekly, so I can't book lessons weeks in advance. I told them that upfront and didn't get any warning that it'd be near impossible to book lessons in that case. Initially I purchased an 11 pack. I got through 4 in 3 months. Their front desk reception is ABYSMAL. Every time I called to try to schedule a lesson they couldn't get it together. They would say hold on I'll call you right back. EVERY SINGLE TIME NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. They also scheduled my drivers test for me without asking me when I wanted to take it??? They scheduled it for the end of October ( about a month after I began lessons). I was moving out of my apartment at the end of October and would not want the stress of a driving test and more importantly I would have had nowhere near enough practice. I only found out they had scheduled it for me when the receptionist casually mentioned it when I went in for a lesson. I immediately asked them to change it to the end of December because I would like time to practice. They said okay. Next time I went in they tried confirming my lesson for November 22nd. I kid you not they tried booking me a road test on THANKSGIVING. After all of this nonsense I asked to switch my package to a 5 pack and to not book the road test with them. They confirmed that they would be switiching it for me and refunding me the difference. About a week later I got a call from the receptionist confirming my road test. Youve got to be kidding me. I never got my refund and never even took my 5th lesson. I'm still waiting on a call back. read more

I took the 5 hour pre-licensing course here one Saturday morning last September. The instructor was very thorough, entertaining and helpful. He gave us great examples that can be used in real life situations. I thought I was going to just sit there and watch a video, but this class was more than that. It was a full class, about maybe 12-15, but the instructor encouraged everyone to ask questions and participate during the discussions. He spoke very well and was very professional. He talked in both English and Spanish fluently. After the class, they emailed and conveniently scheduled me for a driving test. Unfortunately, I was unavailable on the date they scheduled me. I scheduled one myself. The fact that they proactively scheduled me for my test without me requesting them showed their professionalism and thoughtfulness. For experienced drivers who need the 5 hour pre-licensing course to get a driver's test, I highly recommend getting it from Superior Driving School. I had already had a non-american driver's license for decades when I chose this school over others because of the good reviews it got at the time. That means I did not need to take driving lessons to pass my test, which I passed. I asked Adolfo for one thing, and one thing only: to learn parallel parking. I told him immediately after meeting him that I had booked a 5 lesson package, but time and money were a non-issue, and if he felt I needed more lessons to learn parallel parking I would have gladly purchased more lessons. At the end of our first driving lesson Adolfo told me that I did not need to buy more lessons...but guess what???!!??? I now have two driver's licenses from two countries and I do not know how to do parallel parking. Adolfo had to teach me one thing. One!!! And he did not!!!. As for customer services, office response, the five hour required lesson and all that, I would rate the school at a stretched 3 stars, and regret deeply I did not choose the driving school I had originally chosen. read more

I have taken the road test TWICE before with a different school and failed, so my hopes weren't high for this third road test. I learned about Superior from friends who have also taken driving classes here, and I'm glad I signed up myself. I took 5 classes, which they pick you up/drop you off for, and finally passed my road test. My instructor Adolfo was the best-- he was patient with me and carefully explained what I had to do in order to pass. "NOT RECOMMENDED" I choosed this driving school after reading all the good reviews. This people charge way more than any other driving schools. They tell you first you gonna get picked up and drop off however, they lie. Always offering double lesson per day saying you can spend more time getting comfortable on the car. Then, on the day of test they change the car without informing you also the instructor changed in my case. On the day of my test, I got on the car and it took me 3 minute adjusting the seat. So I failed and was told to be more comfortable with the car. I was so disappointed they didn't refund me obviously all they said was "sorry for the inconvenience." read more

It takes some time for your instructor to know who you are, keeping the same instructor is a must. They all have different teaching styles and techniques, I was so lost when I had another instructor. Adolfo was my main instructor, I really learned from him. When it comes to making the appointments I had issues with the older lady, that's the only con I have, she was rude at times, making me explain why I needed to reschedule a road test three months from now, lady none of your business. On my third week they canceled 30 minutes prior to the class due to the car being fixed, a week later the same thing, I was honestly about to go and get my money back but on the following week they got their act together. Just that lady though, I tried to avoid making appts when she was in there or when she answered the phone. I passed on the first try, it took months since my school and work schedule are all over the place, but overall I'm very thankful for Adolfo and his experience. Adolfo, my instructor, was a wonderful teacher who really broke things down to a simplified level. He was honest and encouraging. I passed my roadtest the very first time & it's in large part because of how well he prepared me for it. Also, the receptionist is very nice and welcoming. Poor customer service. Called on a Friday to see when I could pick up a reissue of my 5hrclass certificate and was told to drop by anytime during office hours, I even have my name and date I took the class. I come on a sat late morning and was told by a receptionist if I had an appointment?? I told her exactly what was discussed on The phone with me. Said she couldn't get to the certificates because the file cabinet was in the classroom which was currently in session and I would need to wait. It's 11:30 and she said it would probably break at noon for 15 mins, the class didn't break til 1230. I would think the receptionists should be able to inform visitors of any delay or what time would be best to drop by . I then had to wait an extra 20 minutes for them to scramble to reissue the certificate. On top of wasting 1+ hrs of my life, still had to pay for the $15 reissued certificate. I felt there was No accountability for poor customer service and they did not even offer any credit or some way to make up for THEIR ERROR. Do not waste your time read more

The receptionist was very kind and helpful with setting up my appointment. The school is near the 7 and R trains and was about an hour and fifteen minutes away from my location in Brooklyn. I had a wonderful experience with Superior Driving. They were very welcoming when I came in, which I cannot say for other schools that I called and visited to ask for rates. It almost seemed like I was learning through my uncle and the receptionist was like my bossy aunt looking out for me. I'm a very visual person so Adolfo was very helpful with drawing pictures and using little toy cars to brake down lessons for me. He was also very constructive with his feedback and not at all judgmental. I thought I was a beginner but I ended up being an intermediate! I did feel that I needed one extra lesson to the 11 in my package. So I took it the day of my road test and passed on the first try! I suggest not going a week without a lesson-- practice makes perfect definitely applies here. As for price, they were pretty decent considering the other school's rates. Not so bad when you think of paying in installments. I also came in when they had a sale-- so look out for that if your budget is low. Overall highly recommend! Awesome driving school!! Before joining this school, I came from an experience where the instructors wouldn't let me take control of the car. At superior driving school my instructor Adolfo let me take control of the car on my very first lesson. Today, I'm a confident driver. Best thing about Adolfo is that before you go for your "real" road test, he takes your test too... and when he puts his "Examiner" cap on, it really feels like u r taking a "real" road test. He'll give the review where you did bad and where you can improve on. That sheet of paper on which he examines you is a great help. Apart, from their teaching skills, they were very flexible with my schedule. I work everyday from 10-7 and I took classes after their office hours. Thank you, Superior Driving School... I enrolled with Superior Driving School for my road test appointment and for 1 lesson prior to my test. The school I had been learning with before were booked for the day I scheduled my test. I had the privilege of meeting driving instructor Adolfo who is great at what he does. Despite only meeting him for that one lesson, he left a lasting impression on me. I am very fortunate and grateful to have had him on the day of my road test. He was kind, calm and very respectful of the methods I previously learned. He insisted on being at the road test site very early and I honestly believe that worked in my favor. I was the first person in line and that was a major plus as it did not allow any room for anticipation and anxiousness to grow. Great school! I learned with Mr. Adolfo. He was so patient (I was really nervous) and really smart about teaching you in a way that you will remember the "steps", especially for turns, parking and the broken u-turn. Yes, the office is very small but I dont know why that matters for a driving school???? The ladies in the office are very nice and they worked with me to accomodate my schedule. I came there from Manhattan and it only takes 12 minutes on the LIRR so it was much better than waiting for the 7 train on the weekend. I passed my test on the first try:) read more
