Remember, when you hear something more than once it's likely to be true... MAKE THEM PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!! Seriously, don't leave ANYTHING off the contractno matter how small or trivial it may seem! We had the same experience the other reviewer... They didn't start our siding project on time (2 months late) without any contact from the company and we had to make several calls to get them out to start. When they did start it was hit-and-miss when the workers came out to do the work. The installers were nice enough but they weren't always sent by the company to work on our project so it drug on and on for a couple of months when it was only supposed to be two weeks to do the installation of all the siding on the house and the garage. They tried to charge us $500 for prep work for the stone work that we were having done on the front of the house and I observed that their prep work was the exact same thing as tearing off the old siding so they can install new siding, there was no additional prep work involved. I made them take the $500 charge off the bill. Their salesman was a fast talker / snake oil salesman and he thought he had an answer for every one of my objections except he couldn't rebut them because I used to be a contractor and I called him on all of his BS. It was almost Winter by the time they got the project completed. I hired two of the workers/brothers to rebuild my deck through their deck building company, by the time everything was done it was too late to finish up the painting and the two brothers promise to come back in the spring and finish it up. When I contacted them in the spring to make arrangements for them to come finish the painting and some adjustments on the deck railing I was told by them that they were instructed by Superior Exteriors not to contact or do business with any of the customers that come in contact with so I wasn't able to get them out to finish the painting and I had to someone else to make the adjustments to the deck railing. I had to make numerous phone calls to the company to get someone to come out and complete the painting and the project had already been paid for in full. The workmanship is good but the manner in which this company does business is questionable and their do not uphold what they promise or meet start dates or completion deadlines. We also placed an order to replace all of our windows and the window maker came out and took exact measurements so the windows were supposed to fit precisely within the frame, but what was delivered and installed where standard size windows in which additional work to the windows had to be done to make them fit properly. The window installer finish the windows out with quarter round trim instead of normal window trim and it was unfinished leaving that task for us to complete when it was our understanding that everything would be completed in a finished fashion. I complained about the trim and the windows to the company but they wouldn't do anything about it. I would NOT do business with this company again because of the manner in which we were misled on numerous things!!! I strongly caution you about doing any business with this company... I would not do business with Superior Exteriors again. In November of 2020, one of their employees (who was preparing an estimate for a new deck) informed me that a section of siding Superior had installed was "bubbling" and would require a fair amount of work to repair. He also was adamant that the company would stand behind the job and fix the problem. I have spent a year calling Superior several times a month, but they have yet to return a single one of my calls. I have literally reached out dozens of time, and gotten not a whisper back. Contractor called to cancel his bid three minutes before the first appointment. After waiting 15 minutes past the rescheduled appointment's start time, we called and were told "oh, he should be on his way, I'll call him." After another 15 minutes of fruitless waiting, we went back to work. It's been 1.5 hours since the appointment now / 1 hour since we checked in, and we haven't heard anything. I have very mixed feelings about Superior Exteriors. At the beginning of May we agreed to terms for replacing five windows, replacing siding that was damaged, installing shake siding on the front of our upper level and new gutters, plus painting the full house, trim, and doors. Things started well - our siding and painting was all finished by the end of June and our window order had been placed. Aside from measurements I didn't see the salesman taking notes on what we wanted, but he was friendly and seemed to remember when I double checked prior to him leaving. Getting the new gutters on took us calling a few times, plus promises of the guy coming out on a few different dates and not showing. This all happened during the rains that caused the bad flooding this summer and thankfully, as far as we can tell, our foundation wasn't damaged from the water falling straight down. While we were frustrated, we gave them some grace because the guy's wife apparently just had a baby. Then weeks went by with no contact on the company's end, and when we reached out again shortly after the windows were supposed to be in we were told they were never ordered. Then a few more weeks and we reached out again and the windows had been in but for some reason no one called to schedule. Turns out they ordered the wrong windows for three of the five (they were supposed to have grids and didn't) but installed anyway in September. We were so fed up that we decided to keep two of the wrong ones but wanted one changed. Plus the trim they installed was unfinished - not nailed in in some spots, no nail holes filled. When we called to talk about correcting the errors we found out that the person who we were working with was fired. The new person we worked with ordered our new window and was apologetic. Now a month later we are finally done with this fiasco, with sort of the right windows installed with the trim in a condition to be painted (as stated in the contract, we're responsible for painting inside trim). No one would give us a new price of the wrong windows even though we asked multiple times. In the end, they took a whopping $250 off an invoice of over $7k for the windows. If we had known it was going to be such a small savings, we would have had them install correct windows with grids in all three front windows. And now we know to demand an estimated change in costs should, God forbid, something like this happen in the future. Here's why I have mixed feelings: The actual workers were super friendly and the man who headed up the window installation made sure that they were all installed properly and double checked others' work. The siding and painting job was excellent. Central office - meh. I'm disappointed that no one ever contacted us to let us know we would have a new point person. I'm upset that this project has taken significantly longer than the initial quote - what was supposed to be finished by the end of July didn't get finished until a week into October. What would they have done if we hadn't taken the initiative to contact them??? If we would have done just the siding, I would greatly recommend this company. However, I feel burned by the window situation and I would never want someone I know to deal with babysitting a service company. They have such great reviews, and we did not experience the service that led to those positive reviews. We had plans to return to Superior Exteriors to replace our back doors, but those plans have changed. Overall, I would not recommend working with this company. Superior Exteriors is superb at SELLING you their services...but don't plan on getting prompt response from them if you have any problems with their workmanship. I have been communicating with one of the owners for well over a year - I have text messages dating back to last summer 2015 about the trim on the steps and fascia around the perimeter of the entire deck. The trim appears to be warping and pulling away from the stairs and deck floor. We are also very dissatisfied with the design of the stairs as they do not drain properly. Superior Exteriors originally tried to blame the fascia problems on product defects but (even if that is true - which I am not sure it is) they have done a poor job in advocating for us and correcting the problem. The owner has acknowledged that our deck needs attention but, for whatever reason, our project just never seems to rank high enough on their list of priorities as I continue to ask for them to address and correct the problems and I (continually) get put off. Mine was a $25,000 project - wish I would have hired a company who cares. :( read more
