I'm surprised there are not many reviews for his company! Welp people who are looking for this are in luck! My husband and I are the test subjects haha seriously in Calvert County there were little choices for a Pellet Stove company and the ones we did see had the worst reviews. We took our chance with this company and hit the jackpot! Customer Service is 100% amazing! Very professional and they know what they are doing! We chose the Rolls Royce of Pellet stoves for our family room and it looks great! They had to work around the stone on our fireplace and unless you are really anal about how you want things it looks great to us. Although the employees did make sure to ask questions and show me continuously what they were doing and if it was okay. They put drop cloths everywhere so my carpet stayed clean and if you check out my pictures they put a little tent up around the area so dust and debris stayed inside. It was not a speed thru job, they were thorough and did everything properly in a timely manner: they were great with my husband and I taking a lot of pictures too. They took out our Gas fireplace that was put in by the builders and replaced it with the pellet stove. They went through the instructions to let us know how it works too. Pretty easy. We spent close to $9,000 and it is an amazing investment. My animals will always be warm for those few cold months and we will definitely save on our electric bills too We had visited a few times before making our final decision and they never rushed us and allowed us to ask the million and one questions we had. Not sure about others experience but we can be a little extra with our questions that would be annoying to some but they really enjoy what they are doing because they didn't get irritated or annoyed. These people are very competent and their price is fair. They cleaned and will repair my pellet stove, which was worked on previously by another company, Magic Broom. The Superior workers were punctual and showed me everything they were doing at the time. Magic Broom had told me the part was rare and that they would have to look for it. I feel compelled to write this review in hopes that something changes and Lowes offer customers another option to purchase a new garage door. I was told AFTER I supplied Lowes with the measurements for my standard garage door that I had to pay for SUPERIOR FIREPLACE & GARAGE DOOR INC. to come out and give me a survey. Here is where my problems begin, not only did they take 6-7 days to schedule a simple site survey for measurements, they NEVER seem to have hours during any day(s) other than Friday! And the time is always between 10am-2pm essentially a morning shot waiting on a company that really doesn't care about their customers. I honestly think this really looks bad on Lowes more than Superior, because I wouldn't have called them if I didn't have an account with Lowes. I am sure to do ALL my shopping at Home Depot from this point on because Lowes doesn't seem to have any power over anything this company does or says, and I am LOWES customer not this crap of a company. read more

Our first experience with Superior was when they were subcontracted to replace a chimney cap. We were concerned about some other work our contractor had done on the chimney and Superior was very helpful and willing to check over the previous work and reassure us that it was all fine. We were so happy with their service that we have had them clean our chimney ever since. Most recently we bought a new hot tub from them. It was a big purchase, so we shopped around a lot. We went two several stores in Fredericksburg and no one had even close to the great show room that Superior has. They have lots of room and many different types of hot tubs and deck set ups to consider . They have a great "wet test" where they let you come in after hours and try out all their hot tubs in private. We had lots of questions and they were always very friendly and helpful. I purchased a pellet stove from a friend, and because we had an earthquake a few years ago my chimney might be compromised. I got an estimate to install a pellet stove that I paid $800 for from another company - $3,000! The folks at Superior Fireplace and Garage Doors worked with me to determine the most cost effective way to connect my pellet stove. When a part failed this winter, even though I didn't purchase my stove from them, the folks at Superior came out, ordered the part, and fixed it. I just had them do an annual cleaning and inspection, and, as usual, excellent customer service. I highly recommend them, both for products and for service. read more

Please be truthful when responding to a bad review. I was NEVER advised of a cancellation charge when making my appointment, which I kindly stated. I DID NOT yell at anyone on the phone at any time. And I DID hang up, on the "supervisor", after I was rudely advised I was being placed on the Do Not Service List, there was nothing more to discuss at that point. I hope the $5 cancellation charges you clearly can write off as a business expense are worth losing future business from myself and others. Have a good day. read more

My ratings for this business is as follow: A. Scheduling: 1 star - It took this business more than six months to attempt to complete orders. This time included ordering new products, parts, installation, etc., etc. The scheduling was incredibly slow and flawed to say the least. Interactions (over the telephone) with the scheduler (Ashley) were horrible. This individual is incompetent and should not be allowed (by owner) to interact with customers. At best she would do better on a loading dock or in a supply room. Attacking customers or potential customers is not good for any business and the defensive tones taken by Ashley clearly demonstrates a lack of experience on a professional level. B. Product: 4 stars - Quality, high end quality pellet stoves. Cannot speak to other products or services. C. Service: 2 stars - It took several visits and more than six months to resolve some of the problems with the products and installation. Ongoing communication problems between customer and Ashley, lack of communication between scheduler(s) and technicians, and unskilled workers were the main culprits. Company needs to invest in an aggressive, thorough training program for its technicians/installers. Seemingly Kurt is the only knowledgeable and skilled technician/installer on staff and he deserves a 5 star. If it were not for Kurt this rating would be a 1 star! Seemingly their product line is not for the budget challenged and is of high quality. However, the services do not compliment the high-end products offered to customers. Selling high end products means that a business should offer excellent service on a continual basis (lifetime of the product). Unfortunately, Superior Fireplace & Garage Door has failed miserably in the service end. This is not surprising as Southern Maryland has a plethora of these types of businesses due to the lack of competition and skilled laborers. In summary, my experience with Superior Fireplace & Garage Door was unnecessarily timely and problematic. Based upon the unpleasant facts mentioned above, I hired a new service provider out of Virginia to resolve outstanding issues. This company resolved all existing problems in a timely and professional manner. They also telephoned me after the job was completed to see if I was satisfied with the work. Although the cost was a little higher (because of travel distance), the overall cost plus time was less than that of Superior Fireplace & Garage Door. I honestly hope that the owner will consider these types of reviews and not as constructive criticism and not as personal attacks. These reviews present an opportunity for Superior Fireplace & Garage Door to improve its business. Also, reviews are a way for customers to ask businesses to tweak a few of its existing(undesirable) practices. Superior Fireplace & Garage Door Inc. does have a few good business traits -- quality products, fair prices and the technicians/installers have good intentions. Business is not about pleasing the customer. It's all about offering the customer quality service/product and professionalism (on a consistent basis). If this is accomplished, the customers will return again and again. They will also market (by word of mouth) the product and services. I also order garage doors through Lowes. Now I knew that there was a third party installer, and while the installation was OK. The biggest complaint is with the scheduling/office people. Very unprofessional. Always called outside the 48 hour window. Always blamed someone else, Lowes, Amarr, even us for not being able to return/schedule work timely. We had a problem with the opener two days after installation. They came out to try and fix it and couldn't. The installer explained that we had to call Lowes. We did. After waiting 2 months for a replacement opener, two weeks of which were waiting for superior to schedule the service, the scheduler (when informed it was a new opener not just a part) said to me: "They didn't pay us for that. Amarr only paid us to replace the part.I have to reschedule" When I mentioned that we followed their procedures. She got mad at me. Lowes called me back and said that the installer was not going to install the part and that they needed to find someone else.
