We haven't even purchased our pool yet but on Customer Service alone they get a 5 star! We were welcomed with a huge smile and great personality!! My son wandered outside and the lady helping us stopped talking to let us know, that's an added plus someone who cares about kids and not al about $$! We were very impressed with her knowledge and recommendations on the difference in pools. Again not trying to sell us the most expensive one but the best one for us! I strongly advise potential customers to proceed with extreme caution when dealing with Wise Pool & Spa. In June 2022, I signed a contract for a residential swimming pool project and paid a deposit. The agreement was contingent upon securing financing. Despite repeated efforts over more than three years, I was unable to obtain financing and formally canceled the contract on December 15, 2025. No construction work was ever performed. In addition, I personally paid for all permits, permit extensions, and design expenses related to the project. Despite providing documentation showing financing denial and making multiple good-faith requests, the company has refused to refund my full deposit. They have offered only a partial refund, even though the project never moved forward and no services were delivered corresponding to the funds being retained. I was transparent throughout the entire process regarding my financing status, yet that transparency has not been reciprocated since cancellation. Retaining a large deposit under these circumstances is deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, unfair to the consumer. As of March 2026, this matter remains unresolved, and I am pursuing formal complaints and legal options to recover my funds. Consumers should carefully review contract terms and fully understand refund policies before committing to any agreement with this company. Monique read more

I would like to express my displeasure with the Wise Pool & Spa company for pool opening service 5/19/2021. Upon arriving home to check out the pool, I noticed that it was extremely dirty inside. There was dirt on the steps and some miscellaneous debris inside the pool I noticed my pool vacuum was running along the inside of pool. This was very disturbing and I called the office of Wise Pool but they were closed for the evening so I made several attempts the following day until I finally got someone to take my call. That person identified himself as "Mike"... I shared with Mike why I was calling and I asked what service did he perform for $350 Mike replied - We remove the cover and "clean" and install stairs, railing, chemicals. I asked what did he clean and he said the pool cover! I replied that is not what I assumed I was paying for. The goal was to not have to go through the process of having to clean up the pool from the off season and drain the pool to the appropriate level, clean, remover dirt debris, add chemicals and repair or recommend repairs if my system doesn't meet all check points. Mike replied - We don't do that. It would take up too much time. I could see no more than 6 or 7 people a day and I'm way too busy. I shared with Mike that I had experience with pool service competitors that have opened multiple pools and their service programs include scrub the tiles, sides, steps, floor and vacuum pool in addition to adding chemicals and equipment check. Mike again stated that he doesn't do that because it takes up too much time and sorry for the misunderstanding. I told Mike had I known that I was paying for Wise Pool & spas (he) to remove my cover and add chemicals that I would had solicited a couple neighbors to help perform those few things. His comment to that was well what do you do for maintenance? I replied, I perform my weekly chemical checks & cleaning but that I did not want to open or close the pool and that's why I called on Wise pool & spa to perform it. Again, Mike's only reply was "sorry for the misunderstanding". There are a couple things I find wrong with my conversation with Mike of Wise Pool & spa and those are - 1. There was no attempt made to ensure my satisfaction from the clear lack of service performance that I had received for his rate of $350 for Pool Opening. Only "sorry for the misunderstanding" 2. I have mesh pool cover that is roughly 20' x 35' in dimension and I had taken my leaf blower and cleaned it off the evening prior to my scheduled appointment that they did not call to confirm as they promised. My spouse called that morning to check to see if they were still coming after multiple calls only to get their answering machine. Finally someone answered the sales line and verified our service was still scheduled. 3. Third, based on the dimension of my pool cover, I don't know where Mike could have "cleaned it" as he said he did because I don't have the lay down area around the pool decking to accommodate laying it out flat to clean but then again, I don't know what Mike's - Wise Pool & spa definition of "cleaning" is... There was no evidence that it was laid out in the yard so curious what cleaning occurred. In closing - we decided to use Wise Pool to open our pool this season because we had purchased a new pool vacuum and other products a few years ago from them and they relocated from their former location to less than 5 minutes from our home so we wanted to support them further but after the poor performance in field service and the difficulty reaching anyone by phone even when there are 3 to 4 employees cars parked daily when you pass by their office, we will move on and give our business to a local competitor. Called today for pricing and dates available the owner gave me a call back and he was so so rude and short with me, he made no attempt to talk in pool terms that I would understand and a new pool owner and it seemed like he didn't care about the "customer" It's a shame because I was trying to give business to someone's family but after the awful phone encounter I will just stick with Mcconnell pool. read more

The worst customer service I've ever had to deal with! They were wonderful when our pool was being built, but when the pool was completed and after the last payment it all completely changed. They never fully educated us on the equipment and when we had issues they acted like we were idiots. After we had problems I found out that a few people in our neighborhood had the same issues with them. read more

Terrible customer service! They talk down to you like you're supposed to be an expert on pools! They assume your issues over the phone without coming out to your house to see the actual problem! Liner was replaced in 2011 should still have a warranty..ha not the case with this company! So they say we have to pay $$$ to have it replaced before they can cover my pool for winter but are too lazy to come out to do the job because it should have been done in the spring according to them..pool wasn't opened until June! They don't read their worksheets when you open your pool we stated that the liner was clearly a mess air pockets everywhere water drained to almost the bottom step all they told us to do was fill it with water..well we've been filling our pool with water every week since it was opened! I've showed pictures to employees asked what can be done about our issues since we just bought the house last winter when the pool was covered had no idea what it would look like when it was time to open it..a mess that's what it looked like! It's been a nightmare ever since! All they care about is your money and getting your water tested and buying chemicals from them..too lazy to actually work and get to the bottom of your problems! I definitely don't recommend this company it's family owned and they all talk to you like your an idiot and that you should be a pool expert! Not my job title! That's what we pay them for! Outstanding service. Rochele spent a lot of time and effort to find replacement jets and parts for a 12 year old spa. She found the jets and when one of the parts sent from the manufacturer proved to be incorrect, she arranged for pickup and refund. They go above and beyond. My highest recommendation. read more

Very unsatisfactory experience with Wise Pool & Spa when I had my pool regrouted. Once you write the check you can forget any support from them. I had problems with streaking and Michael Wise automatically blamed the problems on pool chemistry even though he never bothered to come look at the pool after he got his check. There is an abundance of information available from the industry that indicates the grout mixture and application process may also cause this problem, but he just forwarded me a note from Wilcoxon Construction of Rockville, who actually did the grouting, which indicated it was a problem with pool chemistry. Neither Michael Wise or a Wilcoxon rep actually bothered to look at the pool. Also had problems with water from the C.L. Pitcher, the company Michael Wise coordinated with to fill the pool. A good amount of leaves and debris in the water caused spotting in several places in the pool. Wise Pool & Spa doesn't actually do any of the work - they just coordinate other contractors so save your time and money and deal directly with the pool and water companies. Very unsatisfactory experience with the Wise Pool & Spa store as well. Donna Wise is one of the most obnoxious people I've ever met. Unwilling to take the time to educate and help the customer. Only interested in selling chemicals - from there your on your own and i'ts your problem to deal with. Stick with the other pool supply companies who are willing to take the time and talk to you and help educate you about your pool and pool chemistry. read more
