I requested an estimate to replace a Hot water stop under my sink due to leaking. When Tristan came I couldn't get an upfront price for just the repair. He went under my house and came back with a somber look and request that he call his manager to come look and then work up the estimate. (This was after noticing and commenting on my high end car under a cover in my driveway). Jaxson came and they proceeded to give me an estimate of $38,000. to replace ALL of my water lines and sewer lines, adding a water softener and some kind of WiFi enabled monitor. I finally got an estimate to just repair the one water stop and it was $1800! I paid the $45 trip fee and called Dilling. They replaced BOTH of the stops under the sink for a total of $450. read more

During that process, I came across a YouTube video showing the owner, Tim, cussing and carrying on in a neighborhood like a child having a temper tantrum. Our home still had the original hot water heater and it's getting to be close to 25 years old. Time for a replacement and I want to go tankless. Mrs. K. did the shopping around and called three plumbers for estimates. Superior responded, provided a written quote (not an estimate, a quote!) and also offered to do some kitchen sink repair that we needed. They were not the cheapest but they had the best reviews here and on other sites. The technicians who arrived on time and practiced the appropriate COVID protocols with masks on the entire time. They took care of cutting out our old water heater (bye, friend!), running all the new pipes and hooking up our new tankless heater outside the house. It took them all day and afterwards, we've got limitless hot water! There was one problem and when we called the technician, he was immediately back to us to repair it. They had neglected to reconnect the gas pipe to our gas fireplace. A small oopsie and it was resolved relatively quickly with a sincere apology for the trouble, The new unit looks great and it works great. I am extremely pleased and posting this five star review. A representative came out wouldn't step foot inside our home Didn't do anything but glance at our septic tank and says yes it needs pumping.Never touched anything but he possibly didn't want to get dirt on his uniform or something????Charged is $49.50 for advice that wasn't even the main issue or problem.I honestly wouldn't call losing that much money or bad advice *Superior* but hey I guess at the end of the day gas would actually be that expensive soo there it is!We won't use them again but they could be a more Superior pluming and drain specialist to another customer but not us 5***** stars down on this company and their bad advice.To expensive read more

Very nice people and do a great job but be careful of pricing. $772 plus tax and CC fee to change a $60 faucet in less than an hour. I thought they were replacing the sink for that price. My misunderstanding. I called to clarify and was told that's their price to replace a faucet. However, they did try to give ma a $100 credit but I didn't take it. Its their business. They can price things however they choose. This was possibly a $250-$300 job at most. Be careful. read more

I have filed a review of Superior Plumbing and drains, LLC of Monroe, NC and received their replies. They would have you believe their reply is the final answer. IT IS NOT. Their replies are deceitful; they either totally ignore some of the complaint, provide half truths in reply or absolute falsehoods. If you want undisputable proof of how this company operates do a google search of "youtube video Superior Plumbing and Drains". This 8+ minute video, filmed by the homeowner, shows Mr Timothy Herms, owner of Superior Drains, threatening and cursing Union County Water employees, multiple supervisors and the homeowner himself. He goes on an absolute tiraid. He had charged the homeowner $6000.00 to replace a sewer line which the county would of done for free as it was their responsibility. Even his own employees allude to the fact they had called him and tried to tell him but he told them to continue the work. They also stated that he had done the same thing to other union county homeowners. Insult to injury: when Union County Water inspected what he had done they found the line was installed with reverse flow - which would allow sewage to flow back into the house. This is shown in a follow on video. And the end result - the homeowner bill was reduced to zero dollars. I have filed action in small claims court. And if I proceed with criminal charges all of this information is admissible in criminal court. read more

I called Superior Plumbing again today after having a positive experience with them years ago. Not only did they get me on the schedule the same day, but they came out within a few hours. Stan arrived and assessed the situation with the water leaking in our yard. He determined it was not a plumbing issue, but an irrigation issue. He was knowledgeable and helpful and didn't even charge me for a service call. Once again, I am impressed with the customer service of this company. I hate to write negative reviews but I'm still shocked that the owner I just spoke with by phone was so condescending, arrogant, and downright rude to a potential new customer. This review is from our experience receiving an on-site quote from this company and follow up phone conversation, not any work as we will not be hiring them. We discovered plumbing issues in our recently purchased home and called a few plumbers to come out for quotes, including Superior. The ladies who answer the phone are sweet as can be. The technician provided 3 quotes to break out the work, each of which was 2x higher than the next closest estimate I received. Immediately after they left city workers arrived to mark our lawn for gas/power lines, without our consent or acknowledgement. I called and they apologized that they had a mixup and called in the wrong address to be marked. To remedy the error and as a sign of good faith for future business I asked for our $45 consultation check to be destroyed and not cashed and I was told it would be destroyed. A gentleman came on the phone and asked what was going on so I tried to explain but to no avail. I have zero tolerance for any business whose owner or employee raises their voice to me and speaks over me when I'm trying to voice my concern, and trying to sort out the mixup. It's a shame because the two technicians who arrived were very courteous and polite, though they pushed hard for the highest quote that another plumber said was unnecessary work at this time. (Later confirmed he was the owner.) This single experience unfortunately lost this company our business and likely the business of our network. read more

GREAT, HONEST, HARDWORKING, SUPERIOR! Over the past 3 years we have had issues with our main sewer line and worked to treat the roots. Unfortunately this year (2018) the main line hit the wall and was time to replace! Not to mention it completely clogged. I got about 8 quotes.. I was amazing that some of the companies wanted just a text and picture of the area and they would come back with a high $$ quote... I asked how they arrived at that.. these companies said "oh we use google maps and your picture" to quote. Not the team from Superior Plumbing. Mike with SP came out Day one, we discussed the real issues and formulated a good plan to fix it. They wrote me a quote on the spot which was not only completely fair but would solve the main drain line completely by installing a new one. Keep in mind, I have a family and let me say with a main line sewer line.. time is ticking... the household can't flush, no laundry, dishes, showers.. so you want to go quickly on projects like this but also get a fair price. That was definitely the case with Superior. They were able to come out next day and start... installed brand new sewer line with extra clean outs and solved other issues as well, found additional cracks with the end of the sewer line and repaired on the spot. Overall an AMAZING INSTALL JOB and completely fixed the sewer line! Overall SUPER FRIENDLY TEAM, FAIR PRICES, GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP (they know their trade) and SUPER NICE (Southern Hospitality) which is what I like the most. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A trusted friend recommended I call Superior Plumbing and Drains LLC-Monroe about a leak in my home's waterline. I spoke to Christa who was obviously quite busy, but also patient and understanding as she assured me someone would be there tomorrow. The next morning Derek came and thoroughly assessed the situation outside with the leaking waterline and inside with other problems he saw to which he also attended. Derek's kind and trustworthy manner immediately made me less anxious about the situation, as he sensibly explained everything he thought should be done and why. He is very conscientious about his work. Then he called the office for the cost of the work that would be done. The next day Derek laid the new PEX waterline, accompanied by Jim who brought the trencher to dig the ditch in my front yard, tearing through the thick remaining roots of the maple tree I recently had cut down and its stump ground. Both men are very knowledgeable and exacting. I'm happy to say that when they finished the water worked properly. The next day Zach came and filled the ditch, put down seed, and covered the area with straw. We have had to call Superior Plumbing and Drains twice in the past year. About a year ago they put in a new sewer pipe for us and this time installed a new water line and water heater. Both times they have been extremely helpful and very quick to get on the job. We got estimates from other companies and both times SPD was the best value. Both time they provided us with a ton of information about the issue and explained exactly what needed to be done to correct it. The consultation Tim provided the first time around to help us work with the home insurance company was invaluable, and helped us save a ton of money. Justin was the tech who helped us out this time. He gave us a great price to do both the water main and the water heater. They stayed and worked past sunset and didn't leave until the job was done so that we could have water at our house.
