I called Apex Auto Glass to describe my issues and they confirmed they did tint homes and made me an appt for an estimate, and worked with my crazy schedule without an issue! I was send confirmation and reminders leading up to the appt which was very helpful. I was also given a window for arrival time that was convenient and reasonable. Anthony called to say he would be arriving in 45 minutes and he was actually early!! (Love this so much) Prior to his arrival I had tried to peel off some of the film and removed TWO LAYERS OF TINT‍ and there was still more layers of tint completely covering the windows. Anthony assured me that removing the tint would be no problem. He was SO KNOWLEDGEABLE and helpful with the situation. We had VERY old auto tint on the windows. He walked me through my options after examining and measuring each window. I was worried and unsure, and so he left me with the two samples he saw working best for my situation-this way hubby could also weigh in when he was home. Anthony was polite, professional, and super nice!! We made the appt right there for removal and installation. As soon as Anthony arrived back to the office he mailed me the estimate, which was extremely reasonable!! Right before the appt I had some trepidation about my choices, and I called the office. Anthony called me right back and talked to me about what results I wanted and how these would work out for me. I am now feeling awesome about the job. Yay! Anthony and Angel arrived right on time, and got right to work. In a nutshell they rocked it!! The windows actually had TWO more layers of window tint that was very old and required a LOT of scraping and patience. Hubby and I were outside working and you can tell that these two enjoyed working together. They're so nice to each other and they made really quick work of the removal and I can tell you it looked like a nightmare to get off. But not a cranky comment from Anthony and Angel!! These guys were amazing!! We learned Angel is the automotive tint expert and if I ever need my car tinted he is definitely my guy!! With Anthonys expertise and experience we were in SUCH GOOD HANDS!! The guys finished and cleaned up absolute every teeny piece of the crummy old tint. I was super impressed!! And it already felt cooler inside the house!! Previously with hot weather we would have the window blinds shut, heavy curtains closed, and the ac cranked. I can confidently say that with hot weather we don't have to close the house up like a tomb. We DON'T EVEN HAVE TO CLOSE THE BLINDS!! The difference is mind blowing!! We are already planning on doing this tint on windows in some other rooms. If you are looking for stellar service, professional work, and knowledgeable technicians, then look no further than Apex. I was a pain in the bootie cuz I didn't know what I needed and Apex came through with everything I needed for this job and we could NOT be happier with the finished work. 10/5 for Apex, and especially Anthony, and Angel!! Stars: - Overall: 4 - Scheduling: 5 - Location: 3 (for residents of Nipomo) - Cost: 3? - Front Office Guy: 5 - Job Well Done: 5 - Home Delivery: 0? It was bound to happen. Driving around on roads with potholes causes lots of debris and, eventually, stuff gets thrown against your windshield. My wife's car, a 2019 Kia Soul, had a crack which started about halfway across and just kept growing. So after seeing hundreds of TV commercials for Safelite, we called and made an appointment. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Scheduling was simple. My wife did it online and Safelite confirmed twice before the day and time. - The price quoted online was $985 (with new wiper blades). This was without insurance (our deductible is $1,000) and no other price to compare. We figured Safelite would be about the same as comparable places. - Safelite is just north of the airport in Santa Maria so if that's your city it's quite convenient. - Her appointment was 930 AM on the first Saturday in January. It was busy, but the guy up front said it would be done by 4 PM. He called us at 315 PM. - The windshield looked fine and they cleaned the other windows in her car. - The "reception guy" was very friendly and helpful while handling other customers. Cons: - Who knows if the replacement cost of $985 was reasonable? We didn't want to shop around. - The Safelite office was 15 miles each way - twice - from our house in Nipomo. That's not too good, but the next closest Safelite places are Bakersfield and Ventura. - From all those TV commercials, you'd expect a Safelite truck to pull into the driveway of your house. I don't believe such a service is available from the one in Santa Maria.

1/5 -- Complete No-Show. Zero Accountability…read more I scheduled an appointment with Safelite in Santa Maria, CA and took time out of my day to be available -- and they simply never showed up. No call. No text. No attempt to reschedule or even acknowledge that they had failed to meet a basic professional obligation. This isn't a minor inconvenience. This is a fundamental breakdown in customer service. When a company books your time, the bare minimum expectation is that they show up -- or at the very least, pick up the phone and let you know they won't be. Safelite couldn't manage either. I had to find out on my own that my appointment had evaporated into thin air. No apology. No explanation. No accountability whatsoever. If your time has any value to you, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. There are independent auto glass shops in the Santa Maria area that actually respect their customers. Safelite's size apparently hasn't translated into reliability or basic courtesy -- just the confidence that they can waste your entire day without consequence. Save yourself the frustration. Go somewhere that actually shows up.

I brought my BMW 540i in to have my windshield fully replaced, and I must say, they did a great job. The replacement was great quality, they calibrated my rain sensing wipers and front collision warning system. Unfortunately, this is where things started to go wrong. I picked up my car and drove it home normally, only to realize a few days later that there were huge curved scratches following the pattern of the wiper blades. Technically, they did not cause this, but I spoke to another windshield technician who informed me that when you have a cracked windshield, it is strongly recommended that you also replace your wiper blades. The reason being, they can pick up shards of glass from your cracked windshield, and as soon as the wipers turn on, they will permanently ruin your new windshield. I just think that as a company who primarily does glass work, they should be able to inform you or at least recommend to get new wiper blades when they see a cracked windshield. Unfortunately, this cannot be repaired and the only option is to buy a new $800 windshield. I have had other work done by them, and it is usually a good quality as well as good customer service. Let this be a warning to anyone replacing a cracked windshield before they ruin their new one.

That said, the initial installation of my $1,000 bed cover felt rushed given the hourly labor cost. The fitment wasn't quite right at first and one side of the seal was pinched. I also noticed an impact was used on the rails, which are known to be sensitive to over-torque and can crack easily. While the pinched seal was corrected, I would have preferred more care taken from the start. I don't think they do bad work, but the shop's pace is faster than I personally prefer. For future work, I'd likely look for a shop that prioritizes a bit more attention to detail.

I got a partial hood lining on the top and it is very unnoticeable which is sweet. Obviously you can see it with the right lighting and angle. As for the front clip you literally cannot even tell.
