We were so excited to learn about this place because Summit County does not offer curbside pick-up of recyclables unless you go through a private (and expensive) company. Since we have been building a house for the past year, you can imagine the wood, metal and cardboard waste and scraps - and okay, maybe juuust a few beer cans and Gatorade bottles - we've accumulated. This has become a weekly stop on our way home as we bring a trailer full of recyclables here rather than let them go to a landfill. There are huge roll-offs clearly labeled for different materials and with big steps so you can more easily get higher to toss in your stuff (if you're carrying large things, this is a huge help). They even take things like barbecues, space heaters and the like. I will admit that we've even found something to take home with us from one of the bins - a metal shelving unit that now sits in our garage. If that isn't recycling, I don't know what is. FYI, one thing they don't take is trash. But you can figure that out by reading the signs posted everywhere. The area is kept pretty clean and the bins are emptied frequently meaning we've never had an issue with lack of space for leaving our huge quantities of items. It's also located right across the street from the Habitat for Humanity Restore if you want to keep your green theme going. If you are up in the mountains for outdoor pursuits, there is no excuse not to take your beer cans here on the way home, or to their other locations in Dillon and Frisco! It will only take a couple of minutes. You don't have to interact with any staff, just pull in, drop off and be on your nature-loving, tree-hugging way. From their website: "All recyclables recycled at the drop-off centers end up at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at the Summit County Resource Allocation Park (SCRAP) in Keystone, where they are sorted, bailed, and shipped all over the United States to be made into new products." We had several pieces of tech accessories to dispose of, outdated and mostly not working either. They were taking up space we needed to clear. We took them out to this facility, near several other facilities they operate. Good website with lots of directions and maps and fee scale. It was easy to find, followed directions out there and turned out to be easier than expected, early on a weekday. There is a fee for entering but only $3.00 and it is added to your bill if you have to pay any fees for what you bring in. We took several pieces for which there was a fee but it is very reasonable at $0.59 per pound and they do not weigh any of the accessory cables. Our pile of an old printer, a flat bed scanner and a wireless router came to only 24 pounds. We will be back another time with a few things that need their hard drives erased beforehand and I believe most of these devices are free to recycle. I will also use the Hazardous Household Recycle location again which I have used more frequently in the past for old paints and yard and household chemicals that are outdated, etc. That location is a block north of this one. It's nice to have a local community facility that will responsibly dispose of these objects. They also provide an option for bulk items, like cardboard, block rigid foam, scrap metal etc. A lot of those are free also. I suspect they are pretty busy on Saturdays and they are not open on Sundays. Better than sending this stuff to a landfill and will accommodate things than cannot go out in curbside residential recycling. We have done the curbside for decades, as long as it has existed in Boulder.

I've actually had the pleasure to be on the "green team" at Hanuman Yoga Festival for a couple of years as a volunteer. They educated us in a helpful and encouraging way so we could assist event attendees in properly compost, recycle, and discard with care. Contained within it's substantial walls is CHaRM (Center for Hard-to -recycle materials). Here you can properly hand off anything from a fax machine, to paint, to a yoga mat! The cost is often determined by weight so you can feel good letting go of those challenging items without breaking the bank or feeling bad putting it in the regular garbage. Every interaction I have had at their facility or volunteering under their guidance has been a pleasure. I look forward to doing some spring cleaning and visiting Eco-Cycle with items that aren't quite fit for donation.

this place is scammy as hell…read more.. i accidentally booked an appointment online looking for a simple quote. one king size mattress pickup. no problem, i called them and asked if i could get a quote for the service i just booked. she quotes me $149. not a great price but i guess it could be worse (spoiler, it DOES get worse). i mention the $20 discount that i receive for booking online. she tells me that i have to mention it to the driver when they get here. no problem. so i should be paying $129.00 day of, right? wrong. the driver shows up today and immediately says "so i have to charge you more money." of course you do. he tells me that even though i listed the pick up as "one king sized mattress" and that is what the quote is for he would still have to charge me a $30 mattress fee for him and his partner to remove it... so what was the first quote for in the first place? for you to just LOOK at my mattress? my quote is now $179 with their convenient little fee. he tells me that the call center that i spoke with in regards to my quote doesn't have the correct pricing or information, which sounds a lot like something YOU AS A COMPANY need to fix, not expect your customers to pay for in extra hidden scummy fees. he did honor my $20 off booking online coupon and he did remove the singular mattress that i asked for, which is why you get two stars. but your company is a scam and will do anything to pinch a buck out of unsuspecting customers. do better. disgusting customer care.

First, they (Devon Yager and his colleague) arrived late and in a 10ft uhaul, telling me their truck broke down, that they'll have to make several trips, but told me not to worry because they would give me a discount, knowing the extra trips would take extra time. I absolutely understood and was very patient. However, what should have taken only about 3 hours, took almost 7. They were supposed to arrive at 5, and be gone by 8. They were in my home until after midnight. The apartments were only half mile apart and it was only a 10ft truck, yet they were gone at least an hour every time they went back for more. They broke several items, and lost vital parts to other items, leaving me to have to replace said items. They disassembled several pieces of furniture for the move. I had to put several pieces back together on my own. When they put my bed back together, it was incredibly wobbly and clearly unstable. When I asked them to fix it, they said it's fine (I am a woman by myself, maybe they would have been more reasonable if a man had asked). When I asked again, they said they don't have the right bit for it. When I insisted again, because it was never wobbly before they took it apart, Devon hugged and puffed and loudly said nasty things about me in the backroom thinking I couldn't hear him, but eventually got it back to where it once was (I guess they finally found the right drill bit?) The colleague complained many times about my dog being there, my dog sitter was only scheduled until 9pm, stayed until 1030pm, but by that time, they still had not brought over his kennel, though I asked several times already. I had to ask Devon 4 separate times if they'd gotten the boxes out of all the closets, and was told yes by Devon Yager every time, yet I never saw boxes come off the truck. Finally, at 11pm he goes back to check and finally finds them and spends another hour unloading boxes. Taking the time to complain about how late it was and how far of a drive they have to get back home. They did not take any care as to where they put the boxes and left absolutely no walkway or path to get through. They just made stacks upon stacks wherever they stood, creating a major obstruction for myself and my animals in the middle of the night, not even considering how massive a safety hazard they created had something happened before I got a chance to move them (which, of course, I had to do at 1am). As they were leaving, well past midnight, after being there almost 7 hours, Devon Yager quoted a price to me and told me he was doing me a favor by not charging the extra hours. When I brought up the above mentioned issues and asked about the discount he promised, he became confrontational (mind you, I'm a woman alone with these 2 men I do not know), when I told him I'd settle it with management in the morning when it's not the middle of the night, he told me he is the manager and began to verbally assault me as I stood alone in my new apartment, and called me a piece of sh!t as he stormed out so loudly that my new neighbors came to check on me at almost 1am on the first day I lived here. When I went to my old apartment today, I found many things that weren't brought over and even quite a bit of their trash that they left behind for me to clean up. This company is phenomenally unprofessional. They made me feel incredibly unsafe in my own home. I hope that everyone reading this takes this as a warning as to not allow this company to treat you the way they treated me.

So we manually turned the pump on and off as needed. We also put a call to the plumber. The gentleman who cam out was very professional and wore a mask. We asked about rough pricing for a new pump. He told us the numbers but said not to rush in to things as he has not checked everything out. We told him what was going on and then left him to do what was needed. He called us back down about 15 minutes later... we were ready for the worst. He took a moment to show that he could turn on the pump AND it would not run and run! Magic! No, all the bypasses were open and the pump could not generate enough pressure to shut off. He should use the 5 cut off valves and the explained the flow of water according to what was open and what was shut. In other words, it was human error and not mechanical failure. So while we were ready to sign a check he was not ready to take one. We ended up paying for the hour of the lesson. Awesome running in to a professional that educates a customer instead of taking advantage of them . I am 100% sure I know who I will call in the future.
