We've had them as our supplier here in Allenspark for decades and have only the most positive things to say about them. Regarding other people's complaints, you have to remember that when you are in the mountains, things don't always happen as fast as you might have been used to elsewhere. Running an efficient and cost-effective business sometimes may mean putting orders together in a batch to save on trips. Horrible business. We were switching service due to a MUCH better price. All paid up and their tank had 40% left. We told the not to come until we called. The mud jar drove by and saw we were in the switching process. Decided to sneak on the property and take the tank, which was paid for through the lease agreement and all the propane we have paid for. The really get butt hurt when things don't go their way. Never do business with these people. The women on the phone has Beamer acquired any people skills. Good luck. read more

Would never recommend. Waited over 2 and half weeks never showed. And when I called they said wait would be another week and I even saw them pass my house twice. I even spoke to Amy who was rude. I went with Ferrell gas who will be at my house in a weeks time. Will never use hygiene ever again use Ferrell they are the best!! read more

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! We contacted Hygiene Propane as a new customer to have our tank filled in the month of December. This was a "routine" service and we were put "in line" for our propane delivery "when the driver can get around to it." Mind you, this was a very loosey goosy, non-commital, sometime in the next couple weeks sort of line. Apparently, this is the way they do business... "we'll get around to it some time in the next couple weeks but you need to give us your credit card and just, well, wait around. Though this is not even remotely acceptable as a business practice, but, we wait. THEN... the temps dropped to -24 degrees and our heater was working overtime to keep us warm. Still, we're in line for a loosey goosey delivery. Temps are dangerously cold. This is serious! I called several times to confirm our place in line. Got the same response... whatever... blah, blah, blah... We've got you card on file... Sitting here typing this, it's -20 degrees outside and our propane tank just ran out. Since we already handled all the logistics and "paperwork", I called to request an emergency delivery... I called, knowing we'd done everything we could to ensure we had a full propane tank when we needed it most. I called a week prior, scheduled a delivery and gave my credit card with (hopefully) enough advance notice that we would get filled before we ran empty. Unfortunately, we didn't make it. We went empty... We're out. The response I received was the most condescending, rude, non-empathetic, hateful, dangerous and downright awful conversation I have ever had with any company I have ever spoken with - ever! Not only did we not receive propane, but we were told we will not be receiving ANY propane, period. We will not be receiving a delivery - "it takes too much time." We will not be receiving a delivery - "now that you're empty, we need to do too much work." We will not be receiving a delivery - "the driver as just going to do you a favor." We will not be receiving a delivery - "just turn on a space heater." We will not be receiving a delivery - period. According to Hygiene Propane, we could pretty much just die. No skin of their noses. So wait... wait just a second. I've done everything I could do. You've got my card on file. Considering the dangerous, life-threatening circumstances, can I please get an emergency delivery...? PLEASE. Their response... "Nope!" Looks like you're gonna die. So, please do not ever do business with Hygiene Propane, EVER! Any company that would treat a customer like this should be put out of business. FOREVER! read more

I'll preface by saying that it was entirely our responsibility to make sure that payment was easy for the servicer to find. With that out of the way, this markedly the worst customer service I have received in a very long time. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Upon arrival their attendant could not find our payment, so they left which is totally reasonable. What's not reasonable is black listing someone for an error on the part of your staff and then proceeding to insult a willing consumer of your services over the phone. We were trying for the best possible outcome for both our needs and your business and what we got was a hostile and ineffective phone attendant. Unabashed rudeness doesn't deserve anyone's money. This is the first review I have ever left below a 5 star review. Up until recently, I have had nothing but positive experiences with the service provided by Hygiene Propane Services. I have them deliver to me on their route on a regular basis. That being said, my client service experience on the phone, particularly with Tangie, was really negative. In my last interaction, she was unpleasant, nearly yelling at me in arguing her point when there was no argument to be had. So disappointed. If I ever get her on the phone again, I will ask to speak with someone else. Poor client care. read more

When setting up my new propane service last fall, Tangie (the person who answers the phone at their office) was pleasant and helpful. Since the installation of the tank, I have had some concerns about the service and problems with the install. When I went to turn on the flow of gas at the tank, I immediately heard and smelled propane leaking from the valve. I had my gas sniffer with me (a tool I used often during my time as a firefighter) and found that both the the tank valve and supplied regulator had significant leaks. I called Tangie and reported it. She alerted the "driver" who came by day before yesterday and confirmed (according to Tangie) that the valve on the tank was defective and that supply line into the regulator, which they installed, had been cross-threaded. She said the driver couldn't replace the valve until the tank was empty but that the other leaks were repaired. Okay, whatever- as long as it's not wasting gas, we can wait on that, and I confirmed that the leaks were corrected. Yesterday, when I turned on the supply line at the house, again, I could hear and smell gas leaking somewhere. I got my sniffer out again and checked all the connections and discovered that it was the brand-new regulator I just bought from them. NOTE: There is one regulator at the tank and another, step-down regulator at the point of entry to the building. The leak was definitely coming from the new regulator. So, I called Tangie again this morning and told her I was having misgivings about Hygiene Gas, because the second regulator was leaking. Well, she started raising her voice and getting strident with me, saying it was my fault, and that the problems were with the regulators I bought and whoever installed them. I bought the regulators from Hygiene and they are the ones who installed the regulator on the tank incorrectly! As for the regulator at the house: I had a plumber install it, and all he did was connect the supply line to the regulator. I was there, so I know. Now I tried to clarify the situation to Tangie, who then raised her voice, talking over me, completely uninterested in hearing anything I had to say. I unfortunately, responded to her in kind, raising my voice, pointing out that I am her customer, trying to address some problems with an install, and where does she get off yelling at ME? It was Hygiene personnel that set the tank, attached the regulator and ran the supply lines. Tangie either does not understand what services her drivers/installers perform, or she doesn't give a s^&* about customers who have already paid their bill for a tank and its installation. I am done with her and, unfortunately, Hygiene Gas. I will use up the gas I bought from them and get a tank from someone else to replace their empty unit when the time comes. I wish I could say: "Great customer service, Tangie!" but I cannot. Be warned. read more

I've used this company for more than 30 years. Before that I used the Graves company in Estes Park, and I worked for Barney Graves installing furnaces when I was a kid. But he retired, the company changed hands and I looked for a new company. I have always found the HPS customer service cheerful, helpful and reliable. Good customer service is a two way street. I need to be careful to provide easy access and pay my bill quickly. In return Mike tries to provide propane quickly, but I understand that weather can be a factor and I'm not their only customer. read more

I was one of the first customers when the original owner, Larry, started the business. For many years, I was by some accounts the biggest propane user in our subdivision. Larry would chain up just to make our delivery, and bring treats for our dog. Our propane consumption went down significantly for a number of reasons. After 20 years of paying tank rent, the new owners informed us that we did not use enough and they were coming to get the tank. There was an offer to sell us the tank, but for over half the cost of a new one. We purchased a different used tank, at a much much better price, and told Hygiene to come get theirs, which they would now have to recertify in order to install elsewhere. Their tank was sitting in our yard for months before they came to get it. All in all, it did not seem like they wanted our business, after so many years of being a good customer. Larry would be sad to know how it ended. read more

Love these guys at Hygiene. Polite and easy to deal with on the phone. I'm in Gilpin County and I find there price per gallon is always one of the best around, plus cheaper if you pay on delivery or within 7 days. They will fit you in within a week of telephoning (I'm using the Black Hawk/Hwy 46 Depot) and I'm not a very regular customer, plus I'm hard to access as I'm at the end of a 3 mile steep dirt road. They will also fill your bottles for your grill at the same time for a fraction of the Blue Rhino price! Recommend. read more

We live in the mountains and converted from heat oil to propane 4 years ago. We've used Hygiene Propane since the conversion. I have nothing to add to the good reviews. I've never had an issue with the woman who answers the phone, and service has bee dependable. Prices are competitive. Highly recommend. read more

Hygiene Propane has great prices but terrible service. I usually have to wait 2 weeks for a delivery and even then they can not guarantee it will come on time. The front office does not seem to be able to talk to their drivers and they certainly do not care if they keep me as a customer! read more

The woman who answers the phone is the absolute worst. She makes everything extra difficult when scheduling is already tuff due to the lack of cell reception on the peak to peak. Driver is great and pricing is great but she makes all that not worth it. How she has a job there is a mystery she is terrible. She makes life so hard. read more

I'm not sure how this company is still in business. They decided to park in my driveway in front of my "No Parking" sign and pull a few bins out of nuts and bolts and spread them all over the ground. I walked out and asked if they were ok and what they were doing. I was instantly met with hostility and "Why are you bitching?" I was genuinely concerned at first that they were broken down. Turns out they weren't, but they were preparing for a job down the street.. in my driveway. I went back and got my phone. The other guy that was there got in my face and tried to take my phone away. When he wasn't successful, he stood not even an inch from me with his back to me until I finally left.. from my own driveway. It's pretty disappointing that instead of coming through my open gate to let me know they were there, that they instead chose mean comments and rudeness. Customer service is not how it used to be and it's pretty sad. So hey, if you want to give me your home address, I'll be glad to come over to your house, park in your driveway and spread bolts everywhere and ask you why you are bitching when you come out and ask me a question. Since that's what you did to me. Just because I have a big driveway does not mean that you can use it for whatever you want. read more

We have used Hygiene in Allenspark and now in Pinewood Springs. Mike was the best in Allenspark and as a result when we bought a house in Pinewood we chose to stay with this company. The HOA has "special" prices from another company and it turns out we pay less and get better service from Hygiene..thanks Mike!! Actually, I would rate this company zero. Horrible customer relations, unreliable service, rude/uncaring delivery driver. Long time customer had been set up on monthly delivery service for several years. Service was abruptly ended in the middle of the winter without notification to customer. Propane tank at seasonally used vacation home ran out of gas. This went undiscovered for some time due to Hygiene Propane/Peak to Peak Propane's failure to notify customer that they no longer wished to provide service to the address. Delivery was refused to loyal customer with empty propane tank in freezing temperatures due to small owned tank and private road access (in town, open and maintained). The driver claimed they had not been paid, then office agent admitted that payments had been regularly made for years, that there was no balance due, and that the previous bill was paid over a month prior to refused delivery. Simply boiled down to the fact that the driver is lazy and did not want to service a small tank with private road access and that Customer Service agent (who did nothing to resolve the issue despite weather conditions) has no empathy or appreciation of loyal customers. This company's uncaring, unreliable, apathetic treatment of loyal customers is appalling. Cannot recommend more strongly against doing any business with them if you value good service, trust and reliability. read more
