This house was built in 1963 and still had the original aluminum grid, single pane, single hung windows. We decided that we might as well replace them all, mostly for gains in energy efficiency, but we knew that they would also keep out a lot of external noise. In our case, the company owner (Dale) came out to look and our house and prepare his bid. He is a real salesman, highly experienced in how to close the deal and leave with the order. In addition, he is very knowledgeable and educated us about alternatives. He suggested that we keep grids in the front of the house, but we decided to go with no grids. He also suggested that we put slider windows in the bedrooms, the breakfast area, and the den and we really liked that idea. Dale told us (in the spring of 2021) that it would take sixteen weeks between ordering the windows and their arrival, and that estimate was pretty much on target. He gets his windows from a manufacturer in the Fort Worth area called NT. His bid came in between the other two that we received. We paid half up front, and half upon completion. There were some differences in warranties between the 3 companies. I would recommend that everyone should get more than one bid - especially if you are the kind of person who likes to be very well-informed before making a commitment of this size, and for a project that is once in a lifetime for most people. After we signed the contract, someone came out a couple of days later to make precise measurements of each window opening. After the windows finally came in, Superior called to schedule the installation. I found it interesting that only the aluminum grids from the old windows are recyclable, and so they quite literally knocked out the old windows - truly a demolition. Anyway, the two man crew (Homer and Carlos) were able to install all 19 new windows in one long day. I have to say that the crew was great - pleasant, courteous, and very patient with our many questions. I would trust Homer to do anything in my home. Since the install we have been very pleased with the look and the function. We use the sliders all the time. And most of the outside noise stays outside now. We still have to get a painter to touch up around the windows, inside and out. That is not a complaint, just a side effect of the process that you should expect. Their salesman tried to sell me more then I wanted to replace even though i only wanted to replace 3 windows, he tried to talk me into replacing ALL my windows and 2 doors at a grand price OF $36,OOO!! Did not get past the estimate stage, they refused to come to the house because my wife would not be there??? Because? I as a home owner can not make a decision about an upgrade without their people talking to her. She is fully on board but does not want to be bothered with it. Dale, the owner, came out on a Friday at 5pm to give me an estimate and information to replace my old builder grade aluminum single pane windows. He took the time to answer all my questions. This was one of 4 estimates I received. Superior Window Company was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. My 28 windows were ready in about a month. The guys completed the installation in 2 days. The guys were courteous and willing to answer my questions. I walked around and inspected the windows closely after the installers left. A plastic piece that covered the top of the track was missing. I called the office. They sent someone out as soon as possible to handle it. I never noticed windows or realized how big a difference windows could make. I took Dale's advice (for resale and aesthetics) and got grids on the front of my brick house. The windows in the back of my house do not have grids and it makes a huge difference. The view is beautiful without the grids. I had not planned on getting new window treatments. But now the view is so pretty that I will change out some of the old wood blinds for top down roman shades to enjoy as much of the view as possible. After attending the Katy Home and Garden show in January 2015, as new homeowners, we scheduled to meet with Superior Window and another window company. We met with the other company 1st, almost went with them, until we had Superior come out. What a good thing we waited! Installed Windows on (08/17) Damaged Brick around one window. Gaps in caulking around 4 windows. One window with no caulking at all on inside/bottom. Damaged drywall 10'high/above door during install of large window. Damaged drywall around 2nd window. Damaged wood trim around window, claimed it was rotten. Installed 2 small windows on sides of front with numerous scratches. Installed large window above front door with numerous small scratches and one large 6" scratch. Didn't clean large window or small windows lots of finger prints. Left Glass all over driveway. Left dents/notches in Vinyl portion of window tracts on 5 windows. Owner arrives to inspect windows (07/21) Owner refers to the installers as their best crew. Owner acknowledged scratched windows. Owner acknowledged broken wood, confirmed it wasn't rotten. Owner acknowledged poor cleaning job. Owner acknowledged dents window tracts, said they would fix. Owner acknowledged other small issues like missing caulking, broken bricks. Owner changes story about installers, now claims they are close to being fired. Installers arrive on (07/22) Fixes all caulking issues. Replaced broken wood trim but didn't paint (2nd story window). Fixes broken bricks. Refuses to fix damaged drywall around both windows. Informs us that we will need to sand and repaint ourselves. Claim they cannot fix the dents/notches in Vinyl window tracts. Can't fix scratches. Cleans windows. Manufacturer arrives to inspect Windows (08/04) Agrees to replace 3 windows two side door windows, one large window above door Manufacturer gets new windows but large window is defective (08/13) Notifies us 1 day ahead of scheduled install date. Wants to replace small windows only now and reschedule larger window. We refuse, say that all windows need to be replaced at same time to avoid taking off multiple days of work. Manufacturer arrives to replace windows (8/26) Replaces two small windows. Is unable or not prepared to replace large window above door. Doesn't offer a reschedule date to fix window. The window above our door currently has numerous scratches all along the sides and one very large scratch in the middle. We still have damage to the drywall around two windows. One of the windows/damage is above door so it very high above the ground. We had to climb on the roof ourselves to paint the exterior trim that was broken during the install. Five of our windows still have a notch/dent in the Vinyl track on the inside. read more

Called and requested to talk to someone about window replacement. Lady said she could help. Immediately stated requirement for Windstorm windows. Woman said they did and proceeded to collect personal information. Then she asked how many windows and I stated four. At that point she said they have a five window minimum. I told her all I had was four and she proceeded to tell me about a deal for more than four. Again I said, only four, and she still pushed a sale for more. I told her she should be upfront about the minimum before collecting personal information and politely said good bye. I would consider this a bad customer experience. If I ever want to replace windows in the future, I would not call this company again. Lesson Learned, ask about minimum on next requests. I can not attest to quality of service and price. read more
