This house was built in 1963 and still had the original aluminum grid, single pane, single hung…read morewindows. We decided that we might as well replace them all, mostly for gains in energy efficiency, but we knew that they would also keep out a lot of external noise. In our case, the company owner (Dale) came out to look and our house and prepare his bid. He is a real salesman, highly experienced in how to close the deal and leave with the order. In addition, he is very knowledgeable and educated us about alternatives. He suggested that we keep grids in the front of the house, but we decided to go with no grids. He also suggested that we put slider windows in the bedrooms, the breakfast area, and the den and we really liked that idea. Dale told us (in the spring of 2021) that it would take sixteen weeks between ordering the windows and their arrival, and that estimate was pretty much on target. He gets his windows from a manufacturer in the Fort Worth area called NT. His bid came in between the other two that we received. We paid half up front, and half upon completion. There were some differences in warranties between the 3 companies. I would recommend that everyone should get more than one bid - especially if you are the kind of person who likes to be very well-informed before making a commitment of this size, and for a project that is once in a lifetime for most people. After we signed the contract, someone came out a couple of days later to make precise measurements of each window opening. After the windows finally came in, Superior called to schedule the installation. I found it interesting that only the aluminum grids from the old windows are recyclable, and so they quite literally knocked out the old windows - truly a demolition. Anyway, the two man crew (Homer and Carlos) were able to install all 19 new windows in one long day. I have to say that the crew was great - pleasant, courteous, and very patient with our many questions. I would trust Homer to do anything in my home. Since the install we have been very pleased with the look and the function. We use the sliders all the time. And most of the outside noise stays outside now. We still have to get a painter to touch up around the windows, inside and out. That is not a complaint, just a side effect of the process that you should expect. All in all, I give Superior an excellent recommendation - tell them Alfredo sent you!

I used them twice for different houses, so that alone is a testament of my good experience with this company. On my latest install, they were professional from start to finish, although not perfect in some areas (more on that later). I'll start with the issues, and then close with the positives. On our first house, I encountered some disappointing challenges during the execution/installation phase. Our garden was trampled on, one of the windows were installed on the wrong spot, and a light fixture was damaged and the crew tried (poorly) fixing it without notifying me (all caught on CCTV). With all that said though, the company stands by doing the right thing and resolved everything on a timely manner. How it was handled was much appreciated and influenced me to use them again and refer others. On our second house, almost everything went smoothly. All windows were replaced in just two days! Just encountered a minor hiccup when a wall was damaged and a worker claimed it was pre-existing. Luckily, I purposely took before-photos and was able to provide evidence that it was not pre-existing. In the end, it was fixed within satisfaction. As for the positives, I really have to give credit to Milton, the supervisor on the second house. He was very professional and accommodating. On one of the windows, he found water damage and pointed it out to me instead of trying to cover it up. The damage and source were all fixed. Seriously, he could have moved on and I would have never known! All the windows were installed to my satisfaction. Few minor quirks remained, but possibly due to the window manufacture (or so I was explained). Also appreciate how floors snd countertops are covered to prevent/reduce damage and dust. I recommend this company. Here are some tips before using them (or any other window company): - Take lots of photos of each window before the work starts. Ensure to get several close ups and different angles of the trim and corners, both inside and out. Ensure good lighting for a useful photo. - Check with your HOA to see if it's the window replacements are allowed. Some care about colors of trim and grid vs non-grid. - Expect the order to take several months to come in. Get your quote early if it's a house you plan on moving in.

So we confirmed the appointment the day before on 2/24/23, made arrangements to be available promptly at 8 am on Saturday. At 8:17 am on Saturday-Carlos/door refinisher texted me,saying the was running a little behind. Will let me know when he got closer. I responded-Ok we are waiting. At 9:18 I texted Carlos asking how far are you from our home, Carlos responded at 9:24 am saying he was 35 mins away coming from Sugarland. I live in Richmond ,TX which is Not 35 mins away. I called him at 9:25 am and asked him, why is he taking so long: His response was-that he stopped to do another job in Sugarland and it was his fault. That maybe he could make to our home at 10 am or a little after that! I told him to forget it, that we made arrangements to be available at 8 am. That it was BAD BUSINESS to do this to a customer, it says a lot about this company. That I did NOT want him to do anything. Then at 9:39 am he called me and said he talked to his boss and they would discount $50 off the price to redo my door. I advised him WE were not interested in doing any kind of business with him or the company. They are SO unprofessional! I would NOT recommend. I also called Crystal back the person who booked my appt, She didn't answer, I left a message explaining what happened, I NEVER got a call back. This company is UNRELIABLE, no customer service.

Chapter: 3 It is now mid-October of 2025, when I noticed the caulking that was applied in April of 2025, began to fail. On October 23, 2025, photographs were taken and sent via email to both the Owner and the Operations Manager for their assessment. There was no response from Castle Door regarding this matter. On October 28, 2025, I telephoned Castle Doors and spoke with the Operations Manager regarding the correspondence that was sent on October 23, 2025. I was informed that they didn't receive my correspondence on October 23, 2025. During our brief telephone conversation, the Operations Manager stated that he would need to research this and get back to me. Later that afternoon, I received a response from the Operations Manager informing me that this is a normal condition, that this was an aesthetic issue. I indicated that this is not normal and that his response was not acceptable. He agreed to research this further and get back to me. On October 31, 2025, I telephoned their Operation Manager for an update. Again, I was told this condition was normal. I informed him that the door assembly and trim in place prior to Castle Doors installation was painted black in 2016 and there no issues with either the caulking or paint. I sent an email to both the Owner and Operations Manager requesting that Castle Doors provide me with the product name and product number for the caulking and paint that was used. I received an email from the Owner indicating the paint is peeling off the caulking. He indicated they were willing to address this issue by using new black caulking, which will not be painted. I was also informed that anything painted black with full sun exposure was going to be problematic. On November 10, 2025, email correspondence was sent to the Owner of Castle Doors stating that as a professional, this should have been addressed prior to caulking and painting. It amazes me that this determination could be made by looking at photos and not performing a site visit. They indicated that they are willing to address this issue by using new black caulk, without paint. But did not provide the process of how this repair was to be made. In this email, I asked for the following items to be addressed: 1. Have a Sherwin-Williams representative perform a visit the site and examine the caulking and paint and provide a method of repair. 2. Provide both the product names and product numbers for the caulking and paint used. 3. Provide me with a current Certificate of Insurance from Castle Doors prior to any work being performed. On December 8, 2025, email correspondence was issued to the Owner of Castle Doors stating that it had been weeks since my last email requesting Castle Doors repair method for the caulking/paint issues that have occurred on our entry doors, as well as a current Certificate of Insurance from Castle Doors. I asked them to provide this documentation ASAP, so that this work could be scheduled and corrected. A response was provided by the Owner indicating that in his email dated October 31, 2025, requesting confirmation that we wanted Castle Door to proceed with new black caulking. "If you want Castle Doors to proceed, we will schedule this work when we can, making sure the weather is appropriate for caulking". Correspondence was resent asking that Castle Doors provide me with the documentation requested. Upon reviewing the repair method and your Certificate of Insurance, we would be able to schedule this repair using the black caulking. The Owner responded within four minutes of my request stating that "we did not require insurance documentation when Castle Doors installed these doors, so we will not provide that information now". If you choose to use this company, please be sure to get a current certificate of insurance. I asked the owner how he intended to remove what was currently in place and rectify it with new black caulking. Castle Doors response was "there's not much explanation to give". We will use hand tools to remove the existing caulking, and then apply the new, black caulking. I asked that Castle Doors schedule this work ASAP. On December 10, 2025, I received correspondence from Castle Doors stating that it would likely have to be after the first of the year, as we will need it to be a day with temperatures over 50 degrees. Chapter: 4 to follow.
