Updated 29AUG2024 in response to administration reply:…read more Once again, they responded with excuses. Every school faces challenges, but what matters is finding solutions and communicating effectively--two things this school fails to do. I advise any parent considering enrolling their children here to be cautious. You'll encounter excuses and empty promises, as the owners seem to care only about money. Ask yourself, "Why are google reviews disabled?" My daughter attended this school for three years, but last year was the most disappointing. This is not a genuine Montessori environment. The owners appear to prioritize profit over providing quality instruction, valuable extracurricular activities, and clear, organized communication. In our experience, they often say one thing and do another, so it's crucial to hold them accountable for their promises. At the start of last year, they hired a new teacher without informing us. This teacher failed to properly notify me when my daughter was sick during class, claiming a birthday party in the classroom was the reason. I ended up moving her to a different class, but near the end of the year, the main teacher in that class was let go, and an assistant either left for vacation or quit entirely. For a full day, a classroom of 23 kids was left under the supervision of just one assistant, and communication about this situation was delayed. Based on our experience, I do not recommend enrolling children in this school for grades 1-3.

You want to steal money from hard working parents and provide nothing. Ill be making a change immediately and spreading the word as far as I can that nobody who cares about their child being seen and helped should go to this school. I am very particular about the daycares and preschools I send my kids to and I can say wholeheartedly that I love this preschool! The building was brand new when we started and they have done a great job at maintaining it. The teacher did fluctuate a lot at first, but I think that was mainly growing pains as they opened and adjusted. My son's teachers have been amazing, namely Ms. Rebecca, Ms. Dominique and Ms. Kaitlin. They love my kid, know how to discipline and redirect bad behavior, they provide a positive and optimistic environment and they are genuinely good people. I also think the school Director, Stacey is great! She is on top of it and I respect her for that! I am impressed with the new safety parameters that they are putting in place and am sure other parents will appreciate this too. Our kids can never be too safe. The only negative thing I can say about CA is that they follow the public school calendar for closure and that's a bit inconvenient when you are paying the same thing each month, but March, November and December they are closed for an entire month each week. They do have camp on some of those days, but that's an additional expense.

My daughter is learning and socializing as you would expect in a day care which is a great thing. The room is clean and it seems the children wash their hands often, another great thing. For whom I've interacted with, staff wise, have always had a smile and/or have a pleasant greeting as I've walked through the building. There is a lunch lady that always high fives my daughter when we walk by her in the halls. The director has always been friendly while being professional. She is straight forward and quick with answers and help. They also use WatchMeGrow to be able to check on your little one with the cameras in the building and they use Tadpoles to communicate daily reports and send pictures of the students performing their curriculum. The building itself is brand new and feels that way. Clean and well maintained. The temperature in the building is always cool but not cold. Overall, for the service, it meets all what they say and what I think should be happening for my daughter and would recommend the school. We have the free half day program so I won't talk about service for the asking price. From my experience with my older daughter and searching around the prices are close or the same as any other day care I have search in the area. The last thing that I experience with and/or want to mention is getting in and out of the parking lot. Give yourself and extra 5-10 mins till you experience the traffic. This is not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination, this is a warning if you don't travel that area, often the traffic can stop you for quite a bit.

The negative things about the school: There is too much television, little academic preparation, and the teachers working with the 3- and 4-year-old children seem unprepared. There is also a lot of gossip among the teachers and a high turnover rate among teachers and assistants..

We got very lucky and were offered a spot when we called to inquire about space because many parents weren't sending their kids back due to COVID. Our daughter had a rough first couple of weeks transitioning but the staff at AE did such a great job supporting her. Even the director at the time, Jamie, would greet her everyday and talk with her. She got comfortable quickly after those first couple of weeks and she's been thriving ever since! They do parent teacher conferences every 6mos and let you know how your child is doing and what areas they could work in at home (counting, tracing letters, etc). They also provide great feedback and insight on how to work on behaviors or transitions (potty training for example) at home! We love AE and all of the teachers our daughter has been fortunate to have. We recently put our son in school there (he just turned 6mos) and it's been a great experience as well!

However, when she turned 3.5 years and moved to pre-k, the director called us with concerns about her having trouble opening the faucet and running out of the classroom. We were surprised by this, as we knew our daughter was very trainable and could improve her behavior with proper guidance. We requested the director to give us two weeks to keep our daughter at home and work on the reported behavior. We assured her that if the behavior persisted, we would remove her as suggested. Unfortunately, the director refused and insisted her decision was final, effectively expelling our 3.5-year-old daughter from the school. Determined to help our daughter, we worked with her for two weeks at home on the reported behavior and then enrolled her in another school of similar ranking and status. We informed the new teachers about the situation, and they were supportive. Our daughter is now flourishing at the new school, and her teachers report that she is the best in her class and academically gifted. It is wonderful to see her thriving. Ladybird Academy Lake Nona serves as a reminder that not everyone is suited to be an educator. Although they have some good teachers, the director's inability to see the potential in a young child and address manageable behavior issues was disappointing. We don't blame the director entirely, as being an educator or school director is not for everyone. This school may also exemplify the challenges of a broken academic system where schools operate more like business centers, potentially overlooking the capabilities and growth opportunities for young children.

For over a year they've done an amazing job communicating with us, sending photos, and providing our daughter with really great care. Today (6/2/21) though was a bit of a different experience. ENFORE YOUR RULES. So a while ago while I was waiting for them to get my daughter after work, I overheard a parent expressing his concern about the rule of wearing masks outside while waiting. Soon after that exchange, I noticed a sign went up saying that in order to wait on the portico (outside waiting area), one must wear a mask. Fast forward to today, where I saw three women NOT wearing masks. Personally, I don't care because I'm vaccinated, but when masks are mandated, I wear mine. When they brought my daughter out, I pointed out the sign and the women not wearing masks. The other women were still waiting to get their kids after I got mine; they COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING, but they didn't. It's simple: If you have a rule, ENFORCE IT. They had an opportunity, but did not take it. If you care so much about COVID precautions, then ENFORCE the rules! They did not. Let me just reiterate; 5 stars for the communication and care of our daughter, but this experience left me fairly upset and confused. Why did you not say anything to those women when you had the chance?

While we had a positive view of the teaching staff, the front office and administration operate with a "profit-over-students" mentality that is deeply unprofessional. Following our withdrawal, the school has intentionally withheld my son's academic progress reports and evaluations to use as collateral for a billing dispute. They are attempting to charge for tuition during a month in which my child did not attend a single day and are using his records to hold his future education hostage. Beyond the billing issues, I find the Parent Handbook rules to be overreaching and abusive. Most alarmingly, the handbook explicitly states that they can change any rule at any time without notice, leaving families with zero stability or protection. This level of obstruction has forced us to involve the Florida Department of Education and Step Up For Students compliance offices. If you want a school that values its families and acts with integrity during difficult transitions, look elsewhere. This is not a supportive or transparent educational environment.
