My coworker recommended this barbershop when I mentioned that I was looking for a new barber. I got my haircut from Jose and he did a really good job. My hair grows in different directions so it can be tricky to cut. Jose did an amazing job and even after the hair growing out it didn't look shabby. Will continue getting my haircuts here from now on. There's a lot of street parking on both sides of the streets from the shop. Would recommend scheduling ahead of time before coming in. This store stays open pretty late so it's convenient for those who have busy day schedules. read more

Came in for a drop down fade with volume. I did a walk in with Nick, and he did not do a good job. Not to mention he even gave me 2 deep cuts on my neck! Was not very soft with the trimmers as it felt uncomfortable; I've never felt so much pain getting a fade from someone before. I came in as a walk-in. And sat in the middle of the room full of barbers and clients for 50 mins before I left. No barber said a word to me as I came in, and no one said a word to me the entire time I sat and waited patiently. The only reason I left was because someone who came way after me got greeted as they sat down, and a barber (maybe the owner) told him that they're all booked up for the day. I am of the "Afro-American persuasion" (shout out to James C.) and I've had my hair cut at this place for a few years now. I go because the guys are nice, the service is great, the price is right, the atmosphere is man-friendly (sports on tv, hip hop on radio, car magazines, etc). They are generally busy so it helps to call ahead and get an appointment with your favorite barber. Everyone who works there can do nice cuts, but my girl loves Jose's cuts a lot more for some reason. Cuts run about $20 bucks and if you like the service, don't be afraid to tip. read more

Not always easy to get parking. Not always easy to get an appointment. The place is riddled with Seahawks fans. That said I've been coming here for more than 2 years. I can't say enough good things about my barber Dominic. He's funny, friendly, and very knowledgeable in the local goings on. He's kinda like one of those ultra cool Seattle elder statesmen that are very rapidly disappearing from the area. From what I've have seen from the other barbers they do very good work as well. The guys are pretty funny, and the barbershop has a fun atmosphere with its music and accompanying televisions. This place does get booked up, so I usually book an appointment in advance. If you're trying to get a walk-in, it's definitely you're responsibility to walk in and ask for availability. There can be 6-8 barbers at a time, and most people make appointments in advance I think. It may not be the cheapest option on the Ave, but I'd rather pay a little more to have a better quality haircut. read more

When I first came to Seattle after leaving Hawaii I was not in a good mood. Partly because I lost my barber but then I went to that poor excuse for a barber shop called "Rudy's" they are one of the worst barber shops on earth terrible service and no skill at all. So my girlfriend looked up barbers in Seattle found this place and since then I have gone here probably 20 times at least. They clean chill and yeah they may take awhile for you to get in just because they take their time and don't rush customers. I don't mind waiting for 45mins to get my hair cut. Can not put a price on clean lines. One word of advice... TIP! I come in and will always get my hair cut at 20$ but I gotta leave at least 5-8 bucks extra. For all the years that this place has been open, I'm blown away that I am the first to review it. First, the caveats...ladies, this is not the place to get your doo done. This is strictly a spot for the fellas to get their cut on. The other caveat is that unless you are in for the morning to get a cut it's loud in there. ESPN always on the two monster flat screens, hip hop on the stereo on top of that plus the conversations that guys have with guys when they get their hair cut. I'll leave that to your imagination but think locker room and you're on your way. With that being said, these 10 guys are hands down the best cutters in Seattle for men's cuts. A couple of barbers really stick out, Rex and Jose. Both guys have been barbers for about 10 years and I'll easily switch between one and the other without a skip. They listen to what you want and they do a great job of delivering on your request. A haircut will hit you for around 20 bucks, a line-up job goes for 7, same price for a beard trim. And, if you are of the "Afro-American persuasion" (thanks Michael Richard [Kramer]...you dumbass racist), you can get the fro trimmed up for $18. All in all, if you really dig a guy-centric barber shop...this is the spot for you. Excellent barbers, friendly staff and nice feel to the whole place. read more

I was here on 6-3-11. I was finally tired of the hair on my helmet (my head) looking like a garbled mess so I had to get my hair taken care of. I was unable to go to my regular barber (Reason @ Johnny's Barbershop) due to scheduling/timing issues. So basically I needed my regular cut quick with same day availability for this particular day. I refused to go into Saturday looking how I was looking. So I ended up at Supreme Cutz. I came in on my lunch hour, & was given a time to come back. In my case two hours later. Inconvenient, but hey I guess. I personally believe that since they have about 8 barber chairs, that at least one at a minimum should either take solely walk-ups for a few hours, or a whole day. Because to be honest with you, not everyone will have the time to come back later. It's smarter & easier to make an appointment, but not everyone operates like that. On to the cut. So I described what I wanted to the barber who they assigned me to. He understood exactly what I wanted, & took his time to deliver it. I was happy with it. The concerns....I'd prefer my skin fade smoothed to the max with either a sanitized razor, or norelco shaver. You would think they'd have them with all the flashy items that are in this place. I also had nicks on the top of my lip the next day from the razor he used to trim my mustache....by the way....kill yoself if you don't have no mustache..just playing. The shop itself is pretty nice. Large HDTV's everywhere, plenty of seating, & roomy. They have a ATM inside (next to the restroom) in case you need cash. The place felt clean cleanliness wise for a Barbershop. The barbers are pretty cordial. They have a lot, but it's primarily street parking for that's available here. Albeit in 1 or 2 hour increments depending on the zone you parked in. The meter maids check the parking frequently, so beware. Overall the quality of the haircut I received was solid. Paid $25. Felt like it was more worth $20 though. They can be my backup but not my main barber. I recommend them, but just not over Johnny's. read more

I have really short hair, like a couple degrees before you can go before bald. Think Will Smith in "I Am Legend", but not as good-looking. When you cut really short hair, any little mistake can really stand out because there is less room to work with. I've been to about 8 different barbers at this location and all of them are artists. Their attention to detail, like many others have said, is amazing. It is rare that one barbershop has many different good barbers. I've been to many different cities, and most barbershops have one or two good ones. With my experience so far, EVERY SINGLE BARBER has been good. If you've never been to a Black barbershop, you have to understand the environment. There is swearing, there is a lot of talking, and sometimes barbers will take out their phones and start talking while cutting your hair (which is scary), but you always end up with a good cut. I can't speak for longer hair, but judging from my hair cuts, they are bueno. Barbers that have cut my hair: Sam, Dominic, Jose, Ike, Tro, Gerardo, Glen, and a couple others that I forgot. Expecting to walk-in and be immediately accommodated on a Friday or Saturday is unrealistic. Barbers only make money when they have clientele, it only makes sense to have your day booked with appointments to ensure you're going to maximize your workload and income. If you have a barber that isn't booked days in advance and can get you in a chair at your leisure.... I think that speaks for itself. I've been going to Supreme Cutz ever since a shop I used to go to raise their price to 25 dollars about 6 months ago. I would say that raise was a bless in disguise, because Supreme Cutz is where it's at. Love the atmosphere there, barbers are all chill and it's where I would go for the foreseeable future. Oh by the way, everyone got skillz, but ask for Jose --- he's my favorite. Wow this place needs more reviews. I've been going here for about 5 years and getting my fade done by almost exclusively Lil John "LJ" and Jose. These guys always worked with my jacked up schedule and make sure I get cut up at least once every two weeks. My favorite part about this place is that they guys get to work there own hours, which mean that you can get a hair cut as late as 9pm on a weekday or 8pm or so on a weekend night. I'm always impressed that the guys are willing to stay late just to take care of a couple extra clients. This is awesome for those of us that work stupid hours or can't get up there by the close of normal business. Not to mention people drive to this place from all parts of the puget sound so the later hours means that you don't have to fight traffic. Recently a bar just opened up next door so now after your done getting your hair cut you can go next store and get your drink on!! They recently made some improvements including adding 2-3 more LCD Tvs and some upgrades to the sound system. As if the place needed to get any cooler. I've gotten my hair cut during March Madness Games, Sunday night and Thursday night football and during nightly NBA games. If there is a good game on these guys will have it on the screen, don't worry you won't miss anything. When there is no game on you can count on some classic hip hop to keep you company. Lots of Wu Tang and Outkast up in there... So, big props to LJ, jose and all the guys at supreme cuts, you guys really hold it down for those of us in the NW with the weekly fade addiction. read more

This review is for my boyfriend who has been here twice in the last month. I found Supreme Cutz for him on yelp. Apparently, finding a decent barber that can do a decent bald fade is not as simple as going to super cuts. Both experiences he's had so far have been pleasant and he's been very happy with his haircuts. First cut was with Gerry and second was a line up with Dominique. I sat in the first time and by the atmosphere of the barbershop, it seems like the equivalent of a women's hair salon, but for men. What I mean is-- the walls are lined with TVs and of course ESPN is filled on all of them. The guys are chatting it up about sports and whatever else men gossip about. It seems like a very nice relax environment with nice guys who can cut hair. Its also a plus that-- although their located in the U-district, parking was not an issue and there is angled parking across the street for free. read more

I took my little boy (age 2.5) in to get "a fade I guess", I just wanted him to have a good guy haircut that would last longer than a week, and what LJ did was perfect. He was really thorough and pretty quick. My son will definitely be going back, though I'll probably send him with his dad next time. As a fellow stylist I have a pretty hard eye for detail. My boyfriend had mentioned Supreme Cutz several times and that we needed to go. I live in West Seattle and utilize transit, having said this it is well worth the 3.5 hour round trip to go and see my man Glen. Being a female and finding a GREAT barber is not the easiest ( or a Barber that wants to cut women's hair) Glen hooks me up so fresh every time. He sets me up with the tightest etching and designs that suit his mood and my personality. I have been in 3 times all for different designs and Glen hasn't disappointed me. I give him a basic idea and direction and let him run with it. The price is set FAR BELOW THE VALUE and I am happy to say I have found my life long barber! Strongly recommend any of the guys in this shop, do yourself a favor and bring enough to tip. These guys deserve more than the cut price! Been in Seattle for 6 months and couldn't find one barber who could do a proper fade. Finally took another chance and made an appointment with my 7th shop in that time... BLOWN away! All the lads know what they are doing. My first cut was by chance with Jordan and he was great, I've since been back two weeks later and he did such a great job I asked for him again. I went here a couple of weeks ago for my first visit, and I am officially a dedicated fan. I've been a customer at Valentine's for some time now, but something about Supreme Cutz does a better job of setting me at ease and making me feel comfortable about my decidedly casual self. I think that I have now officially defected. My friend referred me to Rex, a nice guy who was good enough to fit me in on the same day that I called for an appointment. He is a consummate professional and very accommodating. He did a superb job of cutting my hair and getting my beard trimmed and neatly lined up, and his attention to detail is outstanding. Ask for Sam. He is terrific. I got a haircut yesterday in Seattle for close to $50. They destroyed my head. The worst haircut I've ever gotten. A fade that had a line all the way around my head and patches of uneven hair. I walked in, talked to Sam (who was super friendly) and asked him if he thought he could fix it. After 30+ minutes of detailed blending and trimming, my hair looks amazing. Do yourself a favor and avoid the high-price, "fancy" barbershops and go see Sam. Awesome barber shop! I've been getting my hair cut at generic hair salon stores like Supercuts or Mastercuts for the last few years because I'm not too picky. I decided I wanted to start styling my hair a little more so I looked up some locations and came across Supreme Cutz. The location itself is pretty cool. They have a huge TV that is almost always playing some sports game and they have a ton of signed sports jerseys along the walls. Chill barbershop atmosphere. The cut was great. I got my cut from Ike and I've been going back to him every 3 weeks. Down to earth guy who pays great attention to detail. What stuck out to me was his professionalism though. The second time I went back, he needed a quick reminder of my name, but he remembered what tv shows we talked about, what I did for work, my fantasy football stuff, and most of all, how I liked my hair cut. The price, which is $23, is reasonable, but BRING CASH! They do not take cards. read more

So very happy to have found this place. After experimenting with several local shops (Rudy's, Belltown Barber), I made a visit to Supreme Cutz after a friend recommended it to me. I was very impressed. Every single member of the staff knows what they're doing, and make you feel right at home if you're a first-timer. Be as specific as you want when telling them what kind of cut you'd like to have and they'll oblige. I was never in there for less than 20 minutes... that means they spend time getting it right, as opposed to places like Great Clips or Cuts 4 All who spin you out of the chair in 10 minutes after a mediocre job. If you've got some facial hair and want it looking better than what you can do with it, these guys will take care of you. Every cut/trim/style I had at Supreme was top-notch, worth the extra 5 or 10 bucks compared to Rudy's. Atmosphere is a street-savvy guy hangout, several flatscreen TVs with sports talk or the B-ball game if it's on, and an open layout makes for easy conversation. This place is great with good prices. Akhil is friendly and does an awesome job because he really listens to what you want and understands how to translate that into the perfect cut every time. These guys are very precise barbers and do great fades, blends, etc. I also like how they've got lots of tvs and are usually playing a good documentary on the big screen - usually an hbo doc or espn 30 for 30. I give a 5 for quality but 1 for the customer service and the drive to want to run a business and earn money. Nice clean place with big TV's . This is a great busy location and I'm sure they get a ton of business. It can seem like it got to their heads. I don't think they pick up their work phone after 4 on Fridays and Saturdays. I walked in twice figuring they only do walk-ins with about 3 people working and 1 person waiting and they turned me down. I tried making an appointment but no one would answer. I don't get it, my hair is pretty short. All I need is a shave and line-up. It would take anyone of their skill about 20 mins to make 20-25 bucks. I would definitely not support a poor work ethic establishment like this, but if you do, Jose is the best in my opinion or this review would be a 1.
