I read some of the reviews for siding and windows and must say my experience with Empire has been…read morenothing but positive-from the initial sales meeting to final install. I was asked if there would be a significant other attending sales pitch meeting and I politely indicated I'm a single mom and will make the final decision myself. Yet, I understood the reason behind the inquiry and had no problems with it. The sales guy was straight to the point didn't really try to sell me the product just provided information regarding the product and answered questions I had accordingly. Which I was grateful for! He let me know that there would be about an 8-week fabrication Lead time which I was fine with. The windows did end up ready for installation within that time frame. Empire graciously set the installation date according to my schedule. And I can't rave enough about the three person team who came out and completed the install. Dave and his crew were on time, addressed my concern about placing down floor protection- which they had already anticipated. They were knowledgeable with the product and how to install the windows and the back patio door. Hard consistent workers, there was no downtime during the install. the framework after the bay window was removed was done very professionally and looks amazing. They answered my questions professionally and didn't make me feel stupid for asking very simple questions at times. I cant say enough about this crew, I hope they see this review and see how appreciative this single mom is. They cut no corners and provided exceptional install service that gives this mom a peace of mind! Plus they graciously accepted to take a photo in front of my new front windows!! Thanks Empire for the new windows and patio door!

Numerous window coil springs/balances break everytime I try to tilt them out to clean the windows. The part that breaks is cheaply made. And You have to silicone the frames so they open smoothly.

After receiving no response to our text and email follow-ups since Thursday, we called their…read morecustomer service line this morning to request a status update and emphasize the urgency. Shortly after, the technician (Jeff) called me back extremely upset, claiming we were "bugging" them, and stated that the owner instructed him to cancel our job and process a full refund. I explained that this was our first phone call today to management and we were simply looking for a timeline since we hadn't heard back all weekend. But he refused to listen, claimed he told us to wait until Monday (which is not in our call recordings or my notes), and canceled the service. Very unprofessional conduct. We suspect this company is discriminatory due to us not sounding like we are from the area and being based out of state. We also paid for our job, but have yet to receive a full refund.

After a bad storm in August of 2024, Daniel was going through our neighborhood knocking on doors…read more He asked if he can look for damage to our roof and I said sure why not. I went on the roof with him and he noticed damage in some areas. My insurance company sent out one of their inspectors and he noted the damage. As always my insurance company nickel and dimed the situation to do the bare minimum of repairs. The Restoration Guys know what they are doing, they got me a full roof replacement . It took some time and some fighting with my insurance company, but they guided me through the process and in the end the whole roof was replaced for just the cost of my $1,000 deductible. It looks great! And I highly recommend them Just be patient through the process.

HORRIBLE! PICK ANOTHER COMPANY In 2021, Universal Windows…read moreDirect installed 32 windows in my home. We selected the company because we were told multiple crews would be assigned to complete the project quickly. After signing the contract and paying the deposit, we were informed only one crew would be assigned and the installation would take longer than promised. The installation experienced numerous issues, including an incorrect window being installed, missing materials, extended delays, and concerns regarding insulation. Shortly after installation, we noticed significant drafts, increased insect intrusion, and substantially higher heating and cooling costs. A service technician later inspected the installation and immediately identified that the windows had not been properly shimmed, there were gaps around the installations, and no insulation had been installed. Universal Windows Direct sent another crew to address the issue by drilling holes into the window frames and injecting insulation rather than removing and reinstalling the windows. Caulking was also redone. Following extensive discussions regarding the installation deficiencies and increased utility costs, the company provided a $5,000 credit. While these repairs improved some issues, they did not resolve the underlying problems. Over the following years, we continued to experience drafts, elevated heating and cooling costs, and poor window performance. During the winter of 2025-2026, temperature measurements near several windows showed differences exceeding 25 degrees from the home's thermostat setting. In one instance, with the thermostat set at 68 degrees, the temperature near a window measured approximately 42 degrees. A subsequent inspection by another technician identified insufficient insulation around the windows and air leakage associated with prior repair methods. Additional temporary repairs were proposed, but I declined because previous temporary solutions had failed to correct the installation deficiencies. After escalating the matter, I was informed that management had approved a comprehensive correction involving removal and reinstallation of the affected windows. However, when the scheduled crew arrived, they stated they had no documentation regarding the work, no materials had been ordered, and no repairs could be completed. They instead documented the issues and left. Since January 2026, I have repeatedly contacted Universal Windows Direct seeking implementation of the approved corrective work. Multiple appointments have been scheduled, inspections have been performed, measurements have been taken repeatedly, and management has acknowledged communication failures and delays. Despite these efforts, no corrective installation work has been completed. In addition to ongoing energy loss and comfort issues, we also experienced a ceiling leak that was attributed to an improperly sloped window installation. Nearly five years after the original installation, the windows remain improperly installed, utility costs continue to be impacted, and the company has not completed the corrective work it previously approved. I have participated in more than nine service visits and worked with multiple technicians and installation crews in an effort to obtain a proper resolution.
