I'm a lawyer by day, but an amateur chef by night. Having worked in several commercial kitchens in…read morethe past, I know my way around quality tools and kitchenware. I needed a couple of items recently so I stopped by here to explore the shop, and I was overwhelmed by all of the things they had. It was like I was back in a restaurant. They are stocked from floor to ceiling with metal serving pans, knifes, mixing bowls, scoops, spatulas, glassware, tongs, and anything else you can think of. Although the prices aren't marked, which is kind of annoying, they will sell you everything at remarkable prices. I imagine if you bought in large quantities you would receive even better discounts. I went and picked up a #20 scoop, a heavy duty burger flipper, a silicone baking mat, a large metal bowl, and a red ketchup squeeze bottle. There were at least another dozen things I didn't need but did WANT... and I might go back for them. The staff were super friendly, no doubt because they were enamored with Harrison. They answered my questions, and even gave us a few gifts for stopping by. I did experience a few downsides. As noted above, prices aren't marked. Also, they don't sell "disposables" so the half-pan pre-cut parchment paper sheets I wanted weren't there. The same with bamboo steamers (though a nearby Asian market will fill that need). And, they are only open M-F during normal business hours, so weekend or night trips aren't an option. This place is like a well stocked tool store. You know you don't need everything, but you sure want it "just in case." I went to the Danger Zone... and barely made it out! Highly recommend.

I was told to send pictures of the damage and invoice. After I sent those I was told since I paid for the insurance I was able to file a claim. So I filed the claim. Then I was emailed again saying the pictures weren't good enough so I should take videos of each comic and send them. So i tried but the files were too long and wouldn't sent. This went on for 20 days and I never got any help so I gave up. I just recently pre ordered a record and shirt from a band I love and didn't realize it was the same company. The record arrived in good condition but the print on the shirt was crooked and off center. I emailed them and was told because of the brand of shirt being on comfort colors sometimes they look off but they're not. I was asked to send a picture so I did. I was told it still didn't look off so they asked if I could send another. I used a grid to clearly show the design was off and sent the picture along with an explanation about how they are the same company that refused to help me last year and that I shouldnt have the jump through hoops and send multiple pictures and emails over and over to get an item replaced. I told them I was going to report them to the BBB if I dont get it resolved. They responded with the BBB is a scam and you have to pay to have a good score with them. They said I never said I wouldnt help you I just needed to see a pictured where it was off. I'll refund you and that will conclude our business together. I dont complain about much ever. I wont even send my food back if its messed up at a restaurant, but no one spending their hard earned money should have to deal with a company arguing with them and having to send multiple pictures and emails to get an item replaced.

The bands they are printing for have been contacted. The record label(s) they are working with have been contacted--directly. Screen shots of all communications were sent over to their management teams and business teams. It's just a matter of time until these bands and labels cease doing business with this complete "fly by night", scam of an operation. What a scam.

The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.

More specifically, Detroit vs. New Haven pizza. We've had Detroit style pizza prepared by a handful of different local establishments in the area over the last five years with no two being alike. Some we enjoyed more than others. Neither of us has ever experienced New Haven style pizza, but I'm acquainted with a number of friends who seriously rave about New Haven "apizza" and are willing to do a road trip there in order to compare some well known New Haven businesses. This class with chef Gio seemed like the golden opportunity to experience "apizza" without enduring the approximately six-hour roundtrip drive. There were about twenty-three students in this class seated at three long tables capable of holding eight each. Beer and wine are available for purchase. The wine can be purchased by the bottle or glass using wine cards in a self-service dispenser. We were satisfied with the carafes of water that were provided at each table. While sitting at the tables provides a reasonable view of what chef Gio is doing at the chef's table, a large overhead monitor ensures that there is no bad seat in the house. The printed recipes provided are intended for your note taking. They only list the ingredients and not the techniques needed to make your end result. With chef Gio's tips and explanations of how, when, and why certain ingredients are combined, it would have taken a twenty-five page book if a regular recipe were provided. Some hands-on experience is provided to give you a feel for what can not be explained in any other way. An example in our class was oiling the rectangular pan for the Detroit pizza and properly spreading the dough in the pan. I've never worked with dough that felt like this. When the dough was ready we also provided the toppings of cheese, pepperoni, and sauce. The New Haven pizza took less time to make so, while our Detroit pizza was proofing we were eating the "apizza." While it was very tasty, I now know that it is not a style that I'd be willing to drive 160 miles for. It was too thin and crispy for my liking. As for our Detroit pizza, it definitely was delicious but not up to the standard of what I can enjoy from a couple of the local establishments, even though we used quality ingredients. The amount of time and work it would require making it at home vs. having one in thirty minutes is a no brainer. Chef Gio's classes are fun, entertaining, and culinarily enjoyable. The only recommendation I would offer is to bring a cushion for the stool you will be sitting on.

Over the past twenty years, I have found this to be the case. I recently replaced my original dw with a new Asko from Ackerman's, whose technician and I ran into problems that called for an oscillating saw (neither of us had one and it would have taken an hour to locate and obtain one from a neighbor) but were solved with hammer, chisel, muscle, and skill (none of it mine). Really impressive.
