Imagine my distress, now, being told I needed a Root Canal!! I was *so* upset, I put it off for two years. The only other time I had a root canal, I had to have gas (very hard for the endodontist to work under these conditions) and I needed a friend in the room with me, holding my hand the entire time. ENDODONTICS OF MICHIANA: WHAT A DIFFERENCE! WHAT A RELIEF! WHAT A GREAT DOCTOR! I was amazed to find such an excellent endodondist/dentist like Dr. Bradley Swanson!! He was calm, reassuring, and totally professional. He took time, explained everything, and was simply GREAT. BEYOND GREAT! It was an easy procedure. It didn't hurt much at all. Dr. Swanson's Assistant, Christina, was also very personable, warm, and reassuring. I highly recommend Dr. Bradley Swanson and Endodontics of Michiana to anyone in need of a root canal or other dental work. BTW: This is the very first review I have ever written for YELP. This endodontist was not able to perform the root canal because he was not able to get me numb and just gave up. Having had this experience on top of my dental anxiety I was terrified coming into Dr. Swanson's office. Dr. Swanson and his team were thourough in all aspects of my visit. They made me feel comfortable (music playing in the exam room!) and fully explained everything they were going to do and again as they did it. Again I had a very difficult time getting numb but Dr. Swanson was incredibly patient and persistent until I couldn't feel a thing. Took about 4 trys but he finally got there! The procedure was quick, painfree, and I left the office much more comfortable than I came in. He also prescribed some pain medicine for the few days following the procedure when the tooth is sensitive. If you need any type of endodontic therapy go see Dr. Swanson! My only wish is he did other dental work so I could see him for all my teeth needs!

Sharing a terrible experience with inconsistent dental care from providers as well as…read moreunprofessional office personnel. A teenager was seen by Dr Balsis which recommended postponing a deciduous tooth extraction 6 months to a year. Upon follow visit at six months, a different provider, Dr Bauman, refused extraction and referred to a specialist ultimately costing an absorbent amount compared to initial extraction. They should have taken care of this in the first place and not wasted time and money down the road. Either Dr. Balsis needs to do his job correctly the first time or Dr. Bauman should thoroughly review prior care and consult with the previous doctor and medial records. Dr Bauman has never attended to this patient ever to begin with and they just plan to pawn the patient off on a specialist now. In addition, the hygenist had to even approach the accompanying adult in the lobby to inquire which dentist the patient sees regularly rather than reviewing previous medical record. After scheduling follow up consult with an outside provider, Berrien Dental declined medical record release to new facility. The curmudgeon office personnel stated that the records were withheld due to outstanding balance of adult sibling of the patient. The adult sibling has no bearing on the minors medical care. The curmudgeon personnel was holding records hostage until the non responsible party reconciled account. The minor or the accompanying adult had no financial obligation the adult sibling. Due to lack of communication and patient care in addition to unprofessional office personnel, this dental practice should never be referred to anyone. Their sole purpose is to line their pockets and ego.

She diligent explaining what cleaning procedures she is performing, does a thorough job cleaning, and ensure you are comfortable. Dr. McGill is no exception to the friendly and comfortable staff. He greets you with a smile, asks (and genuinely cares) about your life, and is also thorough with is exam. Coming from my previous dental office, where everything was very old school, to Dr. McGill's office was a night and day difference. Dr. McGill's office has digital x-rays which for me made them much easier to have taken, they had a camera to take photos of my mouth so Dr. McGill can show me on a tablet areas he is referencing, etc. Due to how impressed I was with Dr. McGill's over all practice I decided to have some cosmetic work done. I am in the process of having my old silver fillings replaced with white ones. As a teenager I had traditional braces, and have never been fully satisfied with the end results. Dr McGill offers a system like Invislign. Essentially invisible and removable braces. After Dr. McGill explained the benefit and ease of the retainers I decided to do it. I'm told are barely noticeable by friends and colleagues. He or his staff have never been pushy about any services, but happy to share information when I asked about the services.

I called back and asked them to send proof. They sent via snail mail the policy again with no proof - becaue they made a mistake and clearly unwilling to admit it. It is because we are not spending enough money there. We have only had cleanings in the last couple years. Unbelievable. Over 25 years of care and this is how they treat their patients. She said these were different x-rays that I had not had done before and my insurance would cover it. I told her I was hesitant to have x-rays at all and I didn't care for them. She never mentioned how many would be involved and then proceeded to take 24! Yes, I counted them. Then they came in to tell me that I had no decay or cavities (I'm glad we took all those x-rays). Then I decided to just go back for my cleaning since the x-rays were done. They called me back 30 minutes after my appointment time. Then I received a bill for $93. I called them just to have an invoice sent and she explained how my insurance denied the x-rays because I already had a panoramic and bite wings from my previous dentist. I mentioned that I even questioned this at my appointment and in the future they should really consider this and make sure insurance is going to cover it and it's necessary before just doing it. While she was polite, her tone did change and she wanted to get me off the phone as soon as possible. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

He is extremely professional, well-versed, and has handled all aspects of my care, including some problematic teeth (that had cracked and needed to be replaced with either an implant or a crown). I've had problems getting numb before procedures in the past, and he is the only dentist I have found that makes procedures easy and painless by making sure I am completely numb before beginning. Also, he is very personable and remembers details about me and my family. He asks how we are doing, and he even remembers to inquire about recent family trips we have taken. He has a great memory. I like that personal touch. Once again, I highly recommend Dr. Pyo for family general dentistry. I recommend Cheryl for my periodic cleaning - she is extremely thorough and professional. I ask for her by name when making cleaning appointments. Furthermore, I have worked closely with Amanda, the office manager, regarding my insurance coverage, and she has been extremely helpful in explaining my benefits and making sure I am getting the best bang for my buck. She will routinely call my insurance company to make sure certain procedures have been authorized and will be covered. I give Amanda five stars also! Lastly, I saw some comments about people waiting a long time before being seen. I completely disagree with that characterization. I've been coming to this office for at least 10 years and can't remember a time that I had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes after checking in before being called back to begin. Those events must've been abnormal circumstances that caused people to write those negative reviews. That has not been my experience at all.
