We ended up at Wildwood, not knowing where we were going to stay or even if we were going to like…read morethe area. I was working till the last minute and gave my friend the task to find the area, motel/hotel to stay at... she didn't do any research so we ended up here at 10pm after having traveled down in a car from Montreal. Well, I can't imagine finding a better place to lay down our bagage and put on our flip-flops and head to the shops/restos/rides/beach/etc/etc.... Other than the price for the stay (which we understand is during the last 2 weeks of July) which was $1080 for 7 nights...so $154/night holy fudge! (which by the way is all over the boardwalk (the fudge)) This motel is at a GREAT LOCATION: 1 minute from the boardwalk (which is really AMAZING coming on it at around 10pm with the thousands of people walking around, the "watch the tram car please", and all the sweet spots to PIG OUT, play, buy, shop, or just go to the beach (which btw is CLOSED from 10pm until early morning...but IT'S FREE!)) This motel is runned by a father & son power duo Alan & Mark which were the nicest, most helpful duo I've ever met. Our room (#12) was on the 2nd storey of a 3 storey building, right on the corner of E 25th Ave. with a view on the corner with all the pretty tanned blond girls walking to and from the boardwalk...great way to start and end your day. The room was fitted with a microwave, TV, phone, little fridge, A.C., nice shower (well, I actually needed to snap the "low-flow" out of the shower head, then it became a GREAT SHOWER!) the furniture is old, but if you are into NEW stuff, you might like to look up "Wildwood Crest" hotels. We had the corner balcony area with 2 chairs, checking out the sexy ladies walking to the beach. They have a nice little pool (which we never used) and free parking right near our room. I've gotta say that Wildwood is a VERY FAMILY area, VERY SECURE, LOTS of POLICE presence on the streets and boardwalk. The motel is a corner away from a little resto called "Munchies" which is opened 24h/day (with good CHEESESTEAKS!!!). Also another corner away (on Atlantic and 25th) is "Jimbo's" a great breakfast place. Obviously when leaving the motel, the wonderful Russian maids come and make your room (which is a good thing!) btw... there are LOTS of BEAUTIFUL slavic women (girls) working EVERYWHERE in Wildwood, it's alot to take in... bring some good sunglasses. Overall, this motel is one amongst 100's around in Wildwood, the prices vary a little from place to place, but the friendlyness & openess of Alan and his son Mark is worth it. I would probably come back when I have my own children. Visited in July 2013

The bathroom is between rooms and the locks are in the bathroom side meaning a locked door locks in the far bedroom no other way out!! Can we say OSHA (for any employee who may accidentally get trapped inside) and fire code violation?! There's no other way out of the room aside from jumping out the window. We got stuck. I could not slip the mechanism. I had to break a pair of glasses to unlock the door from the other side. Last issue, the microwave is on top of the mini fridge but the cord is not long enough to reach the plug so it needed to be moved in order to work.

First off, not only did they tack on an extra $40 on what they invoiced me, but the room they tried to put us in had the doorknob HANGING off the door. When my husband told the front office, they said the maintenance guy wouldn't be around for a day or so, but if we really wanted to, they'll move us to a new room. Yeah, I'd like a door with a functional handle - literally the bare minimum. The idiocracy is real, and this is only the beginning. We get in the room they moved us to and it wreaks of urine. Okay, I get it, it's a pet friendly motel, but do you not have cleaning standards? There was left over tooth whitening paste leaking in the bathroom cabinet and smeared on the door frame. The air conditioning didn't work unless you put it on 60°, the tv kept going in and out, the walls were dirty and there were weird stains all over the bedding. A few of the towels we were given looked like they had dried blood on them. As if these instances weren't unpleasant enough, here's where I find out I'm renting a room from a bunch of no good charlatans: I check my bank account on our 3rd day there and notice 2 additional charges in the amount of $40 to my card for a total of $80. I went in the office and the woman at the desk made some lame excuse about the price fluctuating due to the different days of the week, however, I was already given the breakdown of each day in my original invoice, so what she was saying didn't make sense - especially after she already charged my card $511 when it was supposed to be $471. She told me I would only be charged $40 extra, not $80; I still thought it was ridiculous and didn't make sense, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thanked her for the explanation. The next and last day of our trip, I check my bank account again to find ANOTHER $40 charge. When my husband and I confronted the woman at the desk about this, she started trying to explain but then got equally as confused as us and started making even less sense. (When you're a scammer and get called out on it, I guess it throws you for a loop.) My husband asked her if these "fluctuating rate fees" are on the website and she said "no." When he replied "you can't charge us that then, that's scamming people", she smirked. This confirmed to me that she knows she's fraudulently charging my card. I kept insisting she give me a new invoice, since apparently the original was incorrect and she refused to print a new one with these unexplainable fees; she said she'd email it and it's now 4 days later with no word at all from her or ANYONE from Monaco Motel. I've since found reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor of vacationers who had the same experience with this place. If you've been following, this is now $160 in additional made-up fees. The room was invoiced to me at $471 (that includes $10/night for parking), but they charged my card $40 extra which brought the total to $511, then $40 on 3 different days totaling $120. I'm sharing the screenshots of my original invoice as well as the charges on my banking app. I opened a fraud investigation with the bank and want to warn others in the meantime. I'll also be reporting to BBB, NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, NJ Dept. of Tourism, and local news media. One of the few (probably only) humorous things I find in this situation is that they have Hinduism symbols and decorations in their front office - good conduct is essential to know the Transcendent Absolute; good luck achieving that with this kind of behavior.

The owner said she buys extermination supplies and does it herself but never professionally hires out to have her retreat exterminated. I told her she needs to professionally exterminate for bedbugs. While the owner is pleasant, the right protocol needs to be done. I had an allergic reaction from the bedbugs, had to go to the emergency room twice, I was put on high dose steroids, and still under Doctor's care, and still suffering from what occurred.

The owners are great, and really seem to enjoy taking care of guests. The property is a main house with 4-5 bedrooms, and two carriage houses, so you have a choice of accommodations. There is also a pool, a dog walk, a bocce court, and a game room. The rooms themselves are clean, well organized, and quaint. It is truly an amazing spot. It's about 10 minutes from the Rehoboth boardwalk and a cheap UBER ride. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
