It used to be five stars but if I could give them ZERO stars I would I was taught by my mother when I was a child that if you really want to get your point across with a business, you do not make a phone call or send an email, or even write a review about them on their webpage, you send a well written letter because it hits harder and it shows seriousness about the issues at hand. We have been back from our annual summer vacation at The Biscayne for a few weeks now and I have been thinking about how I would write this or if it is even worth my time writing this. All this time I kept hearing my late mothers voice in my ear telling me I must do it. Me and my fiancée Tina have been coming to The Biscayne now for the past 11 years. Before that she would come with her family every year well over 20 plus years. Over those years they had became very close with the ownership there. The problems started when we checked in. We had 2 rooms reserved. When we arrived only one of the 2 rooms were ready. We got checked in and we were told that we would be called when the second room was ready. So, we unpacked the car and put everything into the available room. This was at approximately 1pm. We then decided to go to lunch. We got back to the Biscayne at approximately 3pm and still no phone call. Tina's sister arrived with her family at approximately 330pm and they got their room. At 4pm myself and Tina walked down to the office and inquired about the second room. Pretty much to make a long story short they forgot to call us and made up some excuse. Strike 1, We were given the keys to the room and proceeded up to the room. As we walked it the room was nice. We immediately noticed there was no air conditioner in the bedroom and it was very uncomfortable. The only air conditioner was located between the bathroom and the kitchenette. Me and Tina both looked at each other and said "this is not going to work" We both went back down to the office and addressed the issue. We both got looked at as if they had no comprehension of what we were talking about. Tina explained that she is in menopause and she could not sleep in a room with no air conditioning and if we could possibly have our room changed. I guess that was not an option. We were then offered a fan for the room as if that would really help when the temps were over 90 the whole time we were there. Tina then stated to the staff at the desk if they could call Patrick to see if he could try to resolve the problem because if not we would just go home then she began crying. Patrick arrived and Tina explained the problem this is now after 5pm we went back up to the room and Tina showed him the issue and stated some ways that could fix the issue. The response she got from Patrick was "well when you booked I told you this and that" Tina's reply was "you didn't tell me there was no air conditioner in the room" Patrick now visibly getting annoyed relies back to us "it's almost 6pm what do you want me to do now" Strike 2. The answer that should have been given was "Tina, John I'm on it" Ultimately Patrick got a portable air conditioner and had the maintenance person install it. We both thanked him and told him we were sorry that he had to come in and handle this for us. He was very understandable so for that we thank him so much. Now Strike 3 occurred on the afternoon of July 30th. Myself, Tina, her daughter, her niece and her niece's boyfriend were all by the pool along with numerous other guests. Because there were no umbrellas and it was approximately 95 degrees out I grabbed one of the potted plants and stuck our beach umbrella in it. Many staff members and guests noted that it was a great idea since there are not enough umbrellas. Patrick's father was doing his rounds and saw my umbrella idea. He immediately started screaming at us "You stuck an umbrella in a live plant, take that out" "you're going to kill that plant how dare you move it". He was literally screaming at us in front of everyone by the pool. We have never been so embarrassed in all our lives and you could tell that the other guests were very surprised on how he treated us. I then tried to explain to him that I only did it because it was blazing hot and we needed some relief from the sun and the only 3 umbrellas at the pool were being used by other guests. The way he was screaming was uncalled for and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! He then went on "How we were told the day before about doing it" I replied "it was not us, we were at the beach until 5pm" He then scolded me to put the plant back to where it was which I did without any argument or hesitation. I suggested to him maybe to get more umbrellas because obviously 3 are not enough. Ran out of room but you get the picture

The room was a decent size too with two bedrooms, a dining table that seated six and a pull out sofa. They are located in the block with the beach so it was a short walk to the beach. And they have TWO heated pools! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Any other guests we crossed paths with were friendly too! We are looking forward to possibly staying there everything summer for a year after our stay this week!

We decided on a whim to spend the night in Cape May (we were already in Atlantic City), and we managed to score a discounted room through Hotelstonight.com. Our room was bright and seemingly recently renovated. I love the suite effect (bedroom and bathroom away from the sitting area). They have a nice outdoor bar on the beach, but due to the insane wind, it was closed. Tropical Storm Debby was working her whorish way up the coast of New Jersey that weekend. We left the property for dinner, but we regretted it upon our return. The hotel restaurant (Coastal Blue) is beautiful! We enjoyed a night cap at the restaurant bar while we learned a bit about the history of the hotel from the bartenders. Check-out is at 10:00 AM. And they MEAN 10:00 AM. We were getting ourselves ready to go and at 10:00 AM on the dot, housekeeping walked in. We heard them before we saw them, and we said, "We need a minute". It was a little off-putting. We even had the "do not disturb" sign on the door. We did not hear a knock. At any rate, don't expect to linger for even a minute. We were worried they would charge us for the extra 10 minutes (they didn't). I can't help but wonder if it would have been a different scenario if we booked our stay through Icona directly. Hmmm... At any rate, clean hotel with good amenities and shuttle service for local jaunts.

Wildwood has notoriously long and wide beaches. Plan to give yourself 10-20 minutes to walk to the waterfront because it can be tough. Beach was clean. Water was clean. Low tides are amazing here. The motel pool is awesome to have. There are picnic tables with umbrellas available. 2 grills and many lounges. A small section for the kiddie pool. Beware that during the day you will get day drinkers with wireless speakers and coolers and in the late afternoon kids swamp the pool with boogie boards. The boardwalk is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Then it's another 20-25 minutes to the main part of the boardwalk after the convention center. The tram car is your best bet if you are not moving your car and paying for parking. Tram car is $4 per person each way so that's $8 round trip. Beautiful beach and ocean view from the 3rd floor. The Gondolier was recommended to us by a friend who stays here every year. The seats and table on the balcony were comfy. Was easy and safe to hang our towels over the railing to dry. Room was SPOTLESS. So clean! Front room had queen sized bed, dining table for 6 people, sofa bed, bedside table and dresser, coat rack and an AC. Back room/second bedroom had its own AC and was attached to the fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom. Kitchenette had plates/dishes, utensils/cutlery, pots/pans, coffeemaker, microwave, full size fridge and freezer combo (bring your own ice trays!). Bathroom is a shower tub combo but not made out of plexiglass; it's tiled and the tub is easy to get in and out of it's not very tall. Towels were provided. Parking can be a bit difficult. Office staff were friendly and helpful. Elevator was out of service upon arrival but was fixed. Otherwise there are stairs. The only reason I chose 4 stars over 5 was because the beds were both harder than rocks. Very very stiff. If you have a long stay, bring a memory foam topper and your own fitted sheets Other than that, we would recommend this motel to anyone and we would definitely return!

DO NOT TRUST THE OWNER OF THIS PROPERTY he is a very mean / nasty man & a liar & in my opinion, a…read morethief!! i contacted the property because i ran into a very difficult situation i sent an email since no one answered stating i needed to cancel my reservation but wasn't sure the best way to contact someone and wasn't sure how to proceed. without calling me or emailing me back , i got an email that my reservation was cancelled - with a receipt showing that my deposit was forfeited - i was going to wildwood in mid july for dance competition for my 6 year old for the first time ... everything was fine until i was told from my employer that i cant have the days off due to staffing issues (my problem, i know) i was able to get just the day she's dancing - found this out two weeks in advance to cancel. however i contacted the property and got the owner unfortunately on the phone. first of all he answers just saying "hello" - first red flag then i explained my situation, hysterically crying, and need to cancel so i can send my daughter with a teammate instead . he said there was nothing he can do to help me i asked him to leave as is if i can't be refunded the $183 i left for a deposit and see what i could do and he reinstated my reservation but said i wouldn't get an email for it i then called back and got him again. i asked him if i can't get refunded if i can just modify the reservation just for the one night so i don't lose the money & i was able to coverage for a day so i was less stressed (in the meantime i checked the website because i started getting anxious that i lost the reservation and my deposit and stressed about my job and doing what i needed to do. the room prices dropped $150 so instead of paying $550 it was $400 total) i mentioned that to the owner as well and he then started getting nasty with me. i told him i was struggling financially (clearly having employment issues & now fear of missing out and losing my job to choose my daughter over work) and if an adjustment could be made i would appreciate it - it clearly means the hotel is NOT booked those dates and they're trying to get reservations . he was very rude very nasty said i can't get my deposit refunded and i can't modify the reservation i said that there was nowhere that stated that a reservation cant be modified i understand the refund but i stated i would keep the reservation for the date i could have lost & to just cancel out the dates that were within cancellation policy - he continuously refused. he said no absolutely not i was getting upset and i said to leave everything the way it was and i would figure it out within the minute of hanging up i got a cancellation email and he has ignored my phone calls ever since. my husband also tried calling and he ignored his call too. this man had the utmost disrespect - i contacted him and told him the truth instead of trying to make something up. he's heartless and mean, he's a thief and NOWHERE IN HIS POLICIES does it say that RESERVATIONS ARE NOT MODIFIABLE. this man is a thief and doesn't deserve your business BEWARE if you choice. if you upset him or if he doesn't want to hear what you have to say he will IGNORE YOU & CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION THIS OWNER IS THE WORST!!!!!
