If you have a new neighborhood, not much you can do until your HOA can have a vote. In my opinion, Home Telco's value for high-speed bandwidth for the money is very poor. Pricing in this industry is always partially-fixed like gas stations on a major intersection, so you're really just looking at service as the differentiator. Tech guys are very nice and conscientious. That is a big plus. Phone support is based out of Moncks Corner, and hit-or-miss. 1 of 4 calls is handled well. The other 3 phone reps act like they've never heard of the services they provide. It would be comical if I didn't work out of my house and depend on Internet reliability. Website tech support? Your grandmother's blog is better than their website. What, your grandmother doesn't have a blog? It's still better than their website. (edit: maybe they read my review because they re-did the website. My Grandma is still talking smack because it's still awful) These guys seem to be getting all new neighborhoods so you don't have to worry about it. Knology was always pretty good when I had them.

Mind you last week contractors came and already added the line to my house and they still have yet to establish service, and yes I called again but got the same response. Possibly the worst experience I've had with any Internet company to date. If ANY other service was in the area I would have already opted with them. PS they say they will no longer offer standard Internet only fiber Internet. Yes I asked thinking it would be faster but that's what they said. Moncks Corner btw.

BUT, I have problems with the service because of where I live and I have DISH because of where I live- in a cable dessert. The issue isn't that I would have cable TV instead of satellite. The issue is that I would have cable INTERNET instead of satellite. If I had cable internet I would stream all my TV content, maybe use an antenna for local stations, and I wouldn't have a "TV service Provider" per se. Hello 21st century. We have satellite internet (through HughesNet, which I previously reviewed). The signal I get isn't reliable enough to stream video content, so we have to have a TV Service Provider if we want more than just local TV with an antenna. Compared to other TV Service providers I have had, DISH is far and above the best in terms of customer service. They are prompt and professional and communicate extremely well. They are easy to reach on the phone, by email, or online and the people they send to our home are knowledgeable, efficient, and very personable. It can't be easy to have a job going into the home of customers having problems and they do it very well. Today I had a repair at my home (the repair was for HughesNet which contracts out DISH for at least some of their in home repairs for customers like us who have both)- I scheduled it to be between 8 and 12. I received a call and a text message from the service person (Bobby) at 7:45 that he would be here between 8 and 8:15 and he was here as advertised. He was great and easily fixed our (HughesNet) problem.

There was a minor glitch in the scheduling, because after my initial appointment was made online, I was offered a "gift" which meant I would receive Epic Movie Package for a month, but once I did that, my package changed overall and my appointment was cancelled. I didn't realize this until waiting through the two hour window for my tech to arrive. Regardless, we got one out the next day and he was very friendly and got out Dish back up and running. As for the package that we have, I don't use the Hopper, because we only want one TV in the house, and the bedrooms should be used for other things rather then watching TV. We use the DVR a lot and have several quality movies and shows (HD & SD) saved which we refer back to from time to time, and honestly, it's the only way that we keep up with our TV shows during the regular seasons. We've considered other options, but I've never been happy with DirecTV and I don't want to lose all of our recordings ;-) As with all home based entertainment providers, I wish the price was better, but we're limited by the quality of the market.

I sat and watched a staff member treat a customer with total disgust. She handed a young male employee her phone for help, and he looked at it and handled it like the device was "dirty," making her feel small in front of the whole store. To make matters worse, he then started a loud, heated argument with the person on the other end of the phone while standing right in front of customers. The level of rudeness and disrespect at this store is shocking. They don't care about your problems; they only care about making a quick sale. If you aren't a brand-new customer putting money in their pockets, they treat you like a nuisance. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else. This team needs a complete overhaul or some serious training on basic human decency!

They didn't even let her finish, one of them interrupted her mid explanation to say "oh no we can't do that here". She tried to respond that the rep told her any physical store should be able to pull up the account and see the issue... and they interrupted her again to say no we can't help. This proceeded a few more times, them not even letting her finish a sentence before cutting her off to once again say how they couldn't help. These two guys clearly didn't wanna be at work that day and had zero intention of trying to help us. They wouldn't even put down their cigarettes to go inside and pull up her account and read the notes left in it by the T-Mobile rep she spoke with on the phone. They never even let her finish explaining what was going on before interrupting her to list every excuse under the sun why they wouldn't even try to help fix our issue. Unbelievably unprofessional and even on just a basic human decently level a horrible experience. Do not go to this location if you want any sort of customer service or even just basic respect.
