Awful! I bought a pair of Surf Style sweats here. When I gently hand washed them before I wore them, chunks of material were coming off in my hands. Several hours into my first wear the material is pilling and coming off everywhere. Total trash. Also, they have an entire section of their shop dedicated to tRump, which makes my skin crawl. We came here to support a local business after the hurricane. My daughter put $20 cash on the counter and we bought multiple items and told the cashier to apply the cash and put the rest on my card. When we got in the car I looked at my receipt and the cash was never applied. So I went back in, questioned it and magically my $20 appeared from the employees pocket that checked us out. Nicole said "I'm so sorry the drawer never opened!" . How convenient. Absolutely inexcusable. read more

I completely understand that a military discount only takes off roughly the tax (10%)* of the bill HOWEVER, Surf Style; only takes an Active Duty discount. God bless our boys and girls that are fighting the good fight BUT what about us VETERANS?! The oddly selective riff between the two of us that Surf Style executives display is only active duty for any applicable discounts and very disrespectful! Shop at FAMILY LOCAL shops held by local surfers and shapers my friends. I'm only throwing a little shade but, it was a wake up call and; I'd like to save y'all the misfortune of going through at the checkout line. This store has anything and everything you would need for your beach vacation. And reasonably priced, not marked up like some of the other places in treasure Island area. Souvenirs, clothing, bathing suits, beach chairs. We got some cute apparel she souvenirs here. Clean and two stories. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend this place for all of your beach needs in the Treasure Island area. read more

I really liked this surf shop, but something really uncomfortable happened as me and my 3 girls were leaving. We noticed 2 guys inside as we were looking around and then as me we leaving the one with the guys in the straw hat whistled and the other went in between our vehicles. I noticed this and rushed to where my 10 year old girl was walking to get into our van. She walk away and I rushed toward her without incident. But it was really uncomfortable and my wife felt the same way. They are lucky nothing went astray because they would have ended up in a lot of discomfort if it had gone in another direction. read more

Beware of the strict return/exchange policy. Cargo shorts with the Long Board tag are considered swim shorts are non-returnable and cannot even be exchanged. The printed receipt description says, "Cargo Shorts." Only after I contacted corporate, an exception was made for an exchange. Their printed return policy does not indicate this. This is the typical Mega Beach Store except it's a bit bigger than the other Mega Beach Stores on Gulf Boulevard. So it should probably be classified as an Ultra Mega Beach Store. That means a Ultra Mega selection of touristy knickknacks AKA bits of junk prominently marked with the words Treasure Island. There is a larger than typical selection of warm weather clothes for both women and men including mix-and-match swimsuits for women ( sorry guys but you're left out on this feature for some reason). Prices are better than at the St Pete Beach stores except Wings which has every place else in Saint Pete Beach beat by a lot. It would be wise however to first shop at Pirates a few steps away which has much less of a selection but lower prices. Please do not buy shells from any of the beach stores. These are collected when the animals in them are still alive. There is a pirate statue outside which is a popular photo opportunity. If you are a tourist you are probably required by your friends up north to return with a photo of yourself by the pirate. read more

We were driving by and saw a huge banner on the building saying "Store Closing" "20% Off". Liive in area and my husband has always wanted a shirt that says Treasure lsland w/ date established. We thought we better go get one before they close. While shopping l see a handwritten sign on a piece of paper taped up on a wall in front that said Store Closing for Remodeling. Another sign that said 20% off with $100 purchase. The store is larger than some of the other Surf Style stores. They do carry just about everything and large selection from swim suits, tee shirts, shorts, shirts, name brand shoes and sandals. Every kind of beach souvenirs and trinkets. Store is neat and clean. You can take your picture with a pirate sitting on a bench in front of store, that's cool for tourist. Just thought it was deceiving how to get you into the store and if trying to clear inventory seems like there would be better deals. read more

If zero stars were possible that is what I would give the location of this store. Outdated inventory is hanging up on display in the store and when you ask if you can buy what's on display they flat out refuse without explanation. Now if they could simply explain they can't get it down or aren't suppose to sell the display that would be acceptable. Do not buy this merchandise. It's very overpriced, and falls apart after a few wears. After spending over $100, the letters on my girlfriend's t-shirt started peeling off (before washing), and the zipper on my hoodie has started pulling off after about 4-5 wears. The products are extremely-cheaply made, and like I said, very overpriced. A great business model: sell something that lasts long enough that tourists will be gone by time the products fall apart. read more

This is a large retail store with all types of souvenirs, swim suits, hats, sunglasses, towels, knick knacks, and beach related items. The store is kept clean and organized and is full of merchandise. They do not have many of the big and tall sizes that I could find, as most of their sizes for men stop at about 2XL/3XL and their shoes stop about 12/13 in size. Lots of bikini's for women and swim shorts for men. Check for the discount or clearance racks for great deals. God place to get anything you need for your trip to the beach. Or if visiting from another area, they have lots of cool items you can take home with you to remember your trip. read more

Not a big fan....signs all over the place advertising "buy 2 get one free!" Be careful! I brought three shirts up to the register and they did not "qualify"....because there was a long line, I paid for them and the went back and checked the racks....one of the shirts was not on special...and when I went to return the shirt, they told me I could only exchange it! What?!? Cashier was rude! Stay away...go to wal-greens for beach stuff-it's right down the street! And what really annoyed me was that I probably dropped about $150 this week in the store buying boogie boards, sunglasses, beach stuff, etc.... read more

Buyer beware! And make sure to read the store policy! This place will rip you off without cause or care. And avoid Heather, the store manager, at all costs. I went to the store and wanted to purchase shorts and a shirt. I always try things on before buying, but in this case the dressing rooms were packed and the line was long. I decided to take a shot and purchase them, thinking I could either exchange or return if things didn't fit right. Well, they didn't, and I went back that same day to return my items. The first woman at the counter said no returns as she was looking at her phone and chewing her gum, and simply pointed to the store policy taped to the counter. Reluctantly I went back to look for another shirt (didn't like the shorts) to exchange, and when I tried to do that together with a store credit, a new person said my receipt didn't match. I was then pretty ticked off and told him the woman who checked me out earlier that day must not have scanned things correctly. He then called in the manager who came to the counter with an attitude. Her name was Heather. She was about ready to exchange the shirt (realizing the original woman earlier That day did not do it correctly) and then got to the shorts, saying they were swim trunks and that those could not be returned under any circumstances. She pointed again to the policy. I pleaded my case but she got nastier and simply kept saying it was store policy. I told her I never realized they were even swimming trunks, but she didn't believe me. At that point she wouldn't even let me exchange the shirt so I was stuck with clothes I didn't want. Granted I should have read the obscure policy but the manager showed no compassion and was nasty throughout. read more

The manager Heather came up to my family and was incredibly disrespectful and rude. Whenever we first walked into the store we heard her yelling at a employee to "Go home". Then, My 10 year old daughter went to go use the bathroom with the door being unlocked she opened it and Heather was extremely rude to my daughter yelling in her face. Then when my daughter came to me telling me what happened, Heather came to my family, starting an unnecessary argument and making snarky remarks. A couple came to us showing shock and concern for the way she was speaking to my family. Also, my daughter was on the escalator apparently her legs were "too far apart" so Heather yelled at her from across the store. She yelled at my son for facing backwards on the escalator, whenever we were leaving the store she yelled a unnecessary snarky comment to us. Whenever I went to speak with her she insulted my family and was incredibly immature. read more

I came into this Atlantic City version of a surf store and of course figured I would buy a key chain as a souvenir from my visit to Treasure Island to bring to my dad back home. I tried to find Gerry but I guess it's too uncommon of a name to find on a key chain, but I did find Jerry, and figured that would be satisfactory for my father. So I bought it and that very night in my hotel room, I kept hearing "Jerry" being whispered in my ear. Or come to think of it, the whispering may have been "Gerry" but I wouldn't be able to tell as they are fairly similar names. But anyways the noise persisted, and I started to get concerned, so I called the real Gerry, my dad. The call went straight to voicemail. As soon as I said that, there was a banging on the bathroom door. I grabbed my pistol and opened the door in a fast motion. It was Gerry, my dad! I'm not quite sure how he got in my hotel room, or Treasure Island for that matter, but I was happy to see him and I gave him his necklace. He loved it. Thanks, Surf Style! read more
