It was unfortunate that the arcade and all the slides were closed in the early evening (when you can finally go outside to avoid the Orlando summer sun baking you alive) and everything aside from one bar was closed. We managed to get a few drinks for the kids and us. Folks were *generally* (see below) well behaved and we brought our pool noodles into the river to avoid the steep floaty fee. We were not expecting as many drunk adults trying to skirt the floaty rental requirement or entitled kids climbing all over the rocks that clearly said "do not climb" but that's how it is sometimes.

We have been here before and enjoyed the place we stayed in the Holiday Inn Orange Lake Resort so we tried the waterpark location this time. The building was under some renovation so I'm sure it will be looking great soon. The room was spacious and nice for the 4 of us and the access to the pool area was great. Nice fitness center and bars and restaurants easily walkable. Overall a good experience despite the inconvenience of the renovation going on

Okay, I've gone from three stars, to four stars, and now back to three. Am I just fickle? No, I…read moredon't think so. Some endemic problems just go unnoticed until a moment occurs when such issues are revealed. Two issues, one old an unresolved, and one new have resulted in this downgrade. The old problem is unresponsive management. I have had a constant compliant about informing gym users to USE provided sanitary wipes after they use equipment. I was told in January (it's now nearing the end of May) that new signs were in the works. To date: nada. A gym up in Ocoee had a health contagion spread for reasons like this. The new problem is that management simply avoids the customers. Just this morning, a woman with developmental disabilities got he phone thrown at the door. A professional trainer - a man who is quite competent and caring - witnessed the event and took it upon himself to help sort this matter out. As he was helping settle things down, a manager sat ten feet away, in an office, door closed. Harris Rosen, a fine and charitable man, would not have tolerated this at the place where he once swam and chatted with his customers. Poor management is endemic, but I'm disappointed that it happens in a place where the line staff is so good.

My daughter enjoyed competing in the 50-meter long course. The water temperature was spot-on and the pool itself was spotless. The whole complex is well maintained with clean restrooms and working drinking fountains. You can tell the staff takes pride in keeping things organized and swimmer-friendly. There's convenient off-street parking all around the facility, and plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby making it perfect for multi-day meets or out-of-town families. It can be a little tricky to find the pool for the first time since it's tucked away off the main road, so don't rely solely on a quick glance at your map. Once you're there, everything's easy to access. We only wish there was a bit more spectator seating. With big events like this, the stands fill up fast. Overall, it's a top-notch swim venue and a great experience for swimmers.

Another thing I love about the pool area is the amount of fun games they offer during the daytime hours. The kids love spending time doing all of the activities, and they even offer little tiny prizes. I also love the movies at night and like to spend a bit of time watching them here. The food court is very close by. I like getting a pizza and eating near the pool or just having some good snacks and our refillable mug. They also have some nice restrooms around the pool so you do not need to run back to the room. I often shop hotels around their pools, and this once is well worth it.

The splash pad area was fun for the kids, but I did take note that many of the water sprayers seemed to be non-functional. We were very impressed with the lifeguards here. I watched one guy pace the same 10-second loop in an almost militaristic fashion. They seem to really take their job seriously, which is a big plus. None of them were sitting around or neglecting paying attention to the pool area. I think some service work on the non-functioning water features would go a long way to making this a 5 star spot.

This visit was all…read moreabout the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and after going several different years, I honestly think this might be my favorite one yet! We sampled food from multiple festival booths, and everything we tried was wicked delicious! If you're going, here's my biggest hint: you NEED the Mimosa Flight in your life! The ride wait times weren't too bad during our visit, and I really enjoyed noticing some of the little updates around the park. It was fun seeing some fresh details while still getting that classic EPCOT feeling I love. And I have to give a shoutout to the cast members keeping the magic alive in the most underrated place in the park--the ladies' room! Every time I used the restroom, it was clean and there were lovely staff members working hard to keep everything that way. Thank you for keeping the magic alive one flush at a time! We appreciate you! My absolute favorite festival booth was the Hawaiian booth because EVERYTHING we tried was a 10/10! One of my favorite little details this year was seeing the signs highlighting Living with the Land and showing where you can find some of the greenhouse-grown ingredients being featured in the festival food booths. As a total nerd for that kind of thing, I thought it was super cool! I love when Disney adds those little educational details that make you look at the food and attractions differently. Overall, I absolutely love EPCOT, and if you've never been, GO! There's so much to explore, eat, and discover. We had such a great time, and I'm already looking forward to going back... mostly so I can eat more! Until next time, EPCOT!

EPCOT - Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. (Utopia)…read more This is, by far, my favorite park of all Disney parks. Because this place holds a lot of memories, I'm so happy I made this a solo trip. I grew up at Disney, and it is always rewarding to go back. When visiting the area, I would visit Universal or Hollywood; it was time to finally go back to where it all started for me: Epcot. With the hotel, I had early entry. It said the entry would start at 8:30, but it actually was at 8 a.m. What a bonus! I headed straight to Remy, and within 20 minutes, I rode twice. What a great way to start my day at Epcot; it only got better from there. The park was very clean and was maintained throughout the day, including the bathrooms. I will admit, I researched which bathrooms are the cleanest at Epcot and stuck to that list. Some places were consistently swamped with people (the food court), which slowed down the cleanup, and that is to be understood. The level of hospitality of the staff was exceptional, and that's to say the least. There were several times I stopped to ask questions, and each and every time, the response was appreciated. Also, I was impressed by how they were all well-versed when it came to the park and where everything was, including the best restaurants. I loved this solo visit very much. I look forward to visiting again in the Spring. To note: If you're a solo visitor, you don't need the Lightning Pass for certain rides. Test, Soarin, and Remy all have a solo line. Galaxy, you will need your pass; I refuse to wait 70 - 90 min to ride this ride. Trust me, it's an awesome adventure, but that wait time will getcha.
