Dirty run down dump. Didn't spend a lot of time in the room ,was disgusting. . Half inch gaps on door to the outside, tiny room with no table or chairs . Ceiling falling apart , tiles held up with screws and spackle. Toilet was loose and wobbling, Don't know how it's up to code for a rental. Don't expect much in seaside but this place needs a complete update.

Hole and crack in the pipe under the sink. Not sure what might come through that hole or how the sink was even being held up.

This place is a total dump, when we checked in the lady was very rude. Another person that was checking in said that the room was not ready. There was no bedding in the room was dirty. The lady at the desk sent to her quote. "You will have to wait. What do you want me to do about it I had a person call in sick today" walking on the balcony to our room you felt like you were going to fall through in spots. It was very spongy. The room itself was supposed to be 175 ft.² and it was 11 x 13 very small dark dirty, the shower rod was rusty, the switch plates were so dirty. They were sticky went outlet did not even work. The bed was broken. There was mold around the air conditioner along the floor molding a big hole under the sink where the pipe came through, could not even open a window as they were painted shut, door did not close tight had a big gap around. It had a hard time to even get it locked. We did not even want to stay once we walked in the room, but they would not give us our money back. I was told it was a non-smoking motel, which was not true at all the people smoking all over the place, there was even garbage piled up behind the stairs. Worst experience we have ever had this place should be condemned. I don't see how it's passing any code or health inspections.

It's been 6 hours since I checked into this motel and promptly checked out, and I'm still skeeved. We were met with the overwhelming stench of mold and grime when we entered our room, so I decided to do a sweep. The bed skirts were COVERED in mold and other foulness. The shower was moldy, the comforters were ripped, the mattresses were ripped and stained, there were stains all over the walls, the bed was broken and sunken in the middle, the furniture and chairs were all ripped and stained, and the door barely closed. I headed to the lobby (which reeked of cigarettes) to politely let them know I would be checking out and was met with a huge attitude from the attendant. I didn't even ask for a refund, I just had to get the hell out of there.

The owners where very nice ... The Boardwalk was right across the street from us the hotel was fairly clean and they have security on the premises. The staff working was friendly

DO NOT DO IT!!!! ZERO STARS!!! this was by far the WORST place i have ever stayed. i have stayed in some shady places before but this was barely habitable. we had 2 rooms. both were disgusting. sand and dirt everywhere. our shower had no hot water other did but both disgusting. no toilet seat in our room. that should say it all. beds were busted and you could feel the springs right through it. basically no padding left on them. pillows looked like flat tortilla shells and a tortilla woulda been softer and cleaner under my head. cops were at the place multiple times. each night 2 just stayed at the lobby. thats how bad the patrons and area were. it IS right off the boardwalk but that didnt overcome all the horrible experiences. screaming and blaring music all night each night. expect to navigate groups of people on the walkways everytime you leave and come back. drugs seem to be everywhere. i have no problem with whatever but we had 4 kids with us. not okay. staff could care less. one staff basically told us they dont clean anything. we bought our own sheets and blankets. it was a step up from sleeping under the stairwell. that mighta been cleaner. at least the rain woulda washed the ground. i cant say enough negative things. if i was a broke college kid its still too disgusting to stay here. i have been in cleaner frat basements. my sink was barely staying in the wall and was slanted down so far my stuff actually fell off it. the pool was the best part. i shoulda bought a floatie and slept in it. although multiple nights random drunk kids jumped the fence and dove in on their way home from bars. i cant believe this place passes ANY type of inspections. we spent 4 nights in this asylum. it was so disgusting and insane it became comical. not enough parking so dont plan on taking ur vehicle IF you find a spot in their lot. good luck navigating it. i wish i could post my pictures! ultimately it became a good story to tell people for years to come. but please for the love of god dont take your kids here. they all hot to witness arrests and people pissing on cars and plenty of drugs and cursing to last a lifetime. if you choose to stay god speed and make sure you're up to date on your shots. dont say i didnt warn you. :) i showered in bleach and penicillen when i got home.

filthy mattresses gnats and flies by sink black & moldy shower curtain disgusting smoke smell wafting in room I actually had to go to walmart and buy bed sheets because the provided sheets had stains in them. The place is very old and cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Dirty, broken beds, dirty bathroom, felt so nasty staying here. Anything more than $10 a night to stay here is ridiculous.

I'm convinced that people who leave poor reviews for motels don't realize what they're getting…read morethemselves into. Seaside isn't Martha's Vineyard or the Hamptons. You're not staying at the Ritz Carlton. Yes, the Sunburst Motel probably needs renovating since it was last decorated decades ago. Yes, there were cigarette burns in the bedding. However, it's clean for the most part, which can't be said about all of the motels in Seaside Heights. The bathroom was very nice. No, there isn't shampoo, body wash, or conditioner. Unfortunately, you'll have to stop by the local CVS and pick up a couple travel sized bottles. You'll survive. Some pros about our stay at Sunburst: There was a functional triple lock on the door. Definitely helps to know that we're safe. The beds were incredibly comfortable and warm despite the cigarette burn holes. That didn't really bother us too much. The bedding was clean. No bed bugs. We had a nice room with two beds, a kitchenette, TV, and refrigerator. The man who runs the front desk was very nice and helpful. I forgot to get his name but he was very friendly. It's very close to the middle of the boardwalk and beach. There was only one con about staying here. It's very loud and the walls are thin. We had noisy neighbors. Not really a fault of the motel but Seaside typically attracts the louder and younger crowd. Not a huge issue. There's also no daily maid service which doesn't bother us but I know that's a deal breaker for some. Overall, this is a comfortable, fairly clean, and safe place to stay in Seaside Heights. Again, don't come here if you're looking for a ritzy hotel. You'll definitely be disappointed. In fact, don't come to the Jersey Shore at all if you want to go somewhere classy. This isn't it. If you just want a comfortable and pleasant stay, this is a good option. Believe me, there are a lot of motels in the area that are in horrible condition and I would not feel safe staying at. Sunburst isn't one of them. It deserves the four stars. The Charlroy Motel is also another family friendly option in the area. More expensive and on the quieter side of town but worth the money. They were booked for the summer so Sunburst was our next option and they didn't disappoint!

Nice simple room, refrigerator, working AC. Clean room and bathroom! The pool is heated and great for evening use! Tyler, was very accommodating and gave us great restaurant recommendations! Gotta check out Sunset seafood! Good thing Tyler mentioned it was BYOB! Would definitely stay there again and recommend! Thanks Tyler!

If you want a hotel that clean, on the boardwalk, close to the beach and rides, and at the time allowed pets (please do not change!) you won't find better. Enjoyed so much this is our 3 year and multiple visits this year! More detail below... If you're looking for a stay that puts you right in thecenter of the action, Boardwalk Hotel Charlee is a solid choice. The location is unbeatable -- literally steps from the sand and right on the Seaside Heights boardwalk, so you can wake up to ocean views and the sound of waves. The rooms are simple but clean, with a beachy vibe that matches the laid-back atmosphere of the area. Love the balcony - perfect for sipping coffee while watching the sunrise over the Atlantic. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out a breeze. Because it's right on the boardwalk, you should expect some noise, especially on summer weekends -- but that's part of the charm if you're here for the lively Jersey Shore experience. Parking can be a bit tight, so plan ahead. Pros: Prime oceanfront location Steps from restaurants, shops, and attractions Friendly, helpful staff Great views from select rooms Pet friendly Cons: Limited parking - but Mohammed manages well. Rooms are basic, not luxury - but clean and bright Overall: A great pick for travelers who want convenience, ocean views, and a true Seaside Heights vibe. Perfect for couples, friends, or families who plan to spend most of their time enjoying the beach and boardwalk.

The staff were so nice and helpful. The other guests were lovely- kids for my kids to play with, even adults who got into Marco Polo and tossing the beach ball. The beach is right there, the room came with beach passes. The rides were right there, it was all so convenient. The shower was intimidating at first- rainwater, handheld, wall-shooting water, but once I got the lay of the land the shower did not disappoint. We used the tub with our own stopper, so pack one of those if you need the tub. It was a motel so we expected a motel. There wasn't a coffee maker in the room, but who needs that when Joe on the boardwalk is happy to sell coffee and juice. Our only recommendation was to add a few more hooks for towels. One in the bathroom door would be great. You can never have too many hooks. Also, I like to mention for other fam reading reviews- we're a two mom family and all was as it should be.
