This is an updated review of my original 1 Star designation of Surfside Pavers from my original dealings with Tony in November-December 2022 and January 2023. That portion is still notated below. The revision of my most recent dealings is first: Learned that there are three owners at Surfside now and the quality between them is night and day. This new information and experience has gone a long way in changing my opinion of Surfside. Recently one of the other owners "Keith" was made aware of the job and of this review. He personally came out to my house and we discussed the job, the issues and what he wanted to do to try and make amends. He went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and taken care of from all of the previous issues I had to deal with. As such I'm amending my review to 5 stars due to the time he took to rectify the situation, including his help moving furniture that was already setup after my project was completed as the job was for a new patio. Keith at Surfside Pavers still embodies the vision Bill has made and passed along in his years of building that company. He kept me informed at all stages of the process, had the team out there within days and working quickly to correct dozens of damaged pavers and re-sanding the area. He even kept me informed and unlike last time waiting weeks for sealing with no response on the status, they were out the same week and the area was resealed free of charge. Keith has gone a long way in changing my mind of never using or recommending Surfside Pavers again. He has shown that the company does still care about the quality of work they provide and providing excellent customer service. I'm not sure who the 3rd owner is, but if you need Paver work, and reach out to Surfside Pavers, ask for Keith. Keith will get done when he says it will and will ensure that sufficient quality and professionalism is adequately maintained and if something goes wrong, take the necessary steps to ensure that the job is rectified. That concludes the revision. The original review is noted below: In years past, I've used Surfside Pavers and several members of my family over the years have also. Those past experiences were always great. The most recent two times though since Bill's departure have been subpar in so many ways and both were through Tony. The most recent work is what caused my review. The job had broken, damaged, uneven and misaligned pavers all over. Also since I was required to have permeable, the outer edge was never sealed so all the sand washed away before sealing due to the wider gaps. Communication was lacking, the on site supervisor left before even saying anything to me and left no additional pavers as extra. My GC was never able to get definite answers and even when I stepped in to call, nothing was ever done and no one called back. This delayed my project by 6-7 weeks after the pavers were kind of corrected, the sealing was done and we could reschedule the next part of the job. Due to all the unprofessional behavior, lack of communication and poor quality the 1 Star rating was well deserved and I would never personally use Tony again. read more

Surfside Pavers came to us by referral and from the very start it was a great experience. We used surfside in conjunction with our pool resurfacing project. The pool company knew surfside well and they worked together on scheduling, etc to make sure our project was all done in a timely manner. The work that surfside does is bar none the best in this area. The quality of the work is superb and the professionalism of the staff and crew is outstanding. The other thing I really like about Surfside is the timeliness of their communication. Every time I've called with questions or needed them to come out for a quote they were quick to respond. We not only used them to do our back patio but also our front porch and driveway. Their work transformed the look of our house and we get many compliments on the new look. We look forward to using them on our next project. The owner, Bill, is directly involved and brings his many years of experience to help you make the right decisions. He worked with our last minute changes and any challenges we had. If your looking for a fair, quality, professional, quick turnaround,company to do business with, I recommend Surfside Pavers. Used surfside for another project today. Driveway extension. They showed up at 9 and were cleaned up and done before noon. The driveway looks amazing and doesn't even look like an afterthought extension, looks like part of the original driveway. They also moved my sprinklers for me, appreciated that. We had Surfside power wash and seal our pavers in our entire driveway and around our pool. They were affordable and Keith was responsive in setting up the bid. After the job we had a cracked paver and some low spots that they said they would come back to level and refill. There were low spots right when they finished the job but after those spots were pointed out they refilled those on the job. But after I called a couple weeks later they said they would be out to refill spots that were low. After six months of waiting I called again and they said they were going to check if they had already come out. ( we were away) There were some spots that appeared to be refilled while we were gone but we still have quite a few low spots that feel like they should not be there after just re sanding. We have not heard back from them in weeks. We had used them once before and while they made mistakes then they were responsive in fixing them. Still waiting to hear if they will come back to inspect and possible fill low spots. They also were looking to find a replacement for the paver that was cracked during the job but have not heard on if or when they might fix that. read more

Aaron, Bill, Johnny, the installers and all of the support staff at Surf Side Pavers do their job with excellence. We had pavers installed at the entry, walkway and along the driveway the day before IRMA hit and it looks beautiful. When we started this project we had no idea how many paver types, patterns and colors there were but their team was helpful with suggestions and showed us various patterns to choose from. Aaron also gave us advice on what trees or bushes should be removed so the roots would not lift the pavers. My husband and I could not be more pleased; they did a beautiful job, they answered and responded timely to any questions we had. All of the installers that worked on our project were hardworking and meticulous. Without hesitation I would recommend them to anyone wanting paver work. read more

I needed a contractor to match my existing pavers .These guys were great. Aaron ,sales rep came to my house 1 day after my call for an estimate. We talked a while, took measurements and Bingo ,he was right in the ball park. I was given a start date and the men with pavers on sight were right on time. The men who installed the pavers were very professional. You couldn't tell where the old pavers ended &the new pavers started . Before leaving my house, my yard was spotless while I walked across the street to see how the front yard looked. Picture perfect! We had 3-4 different estimates quoted and all were very competitive but I believe in the end Surfside was the best choice. We didn't start off so great when initially getting quotes from Surfside but then Tony T. took over as salesman for our job - We couldn't ask for a better guy. He was there the entire process and made sure things went smoothly from beginning to end. Also, Surfside has a true craftsman as there lead installer - The pavers went down effortlessly with a perfect pattern and grade. The attention to detail was top notch by the whole team. Roughly 850 sqft of pavers went down including demo of driveway/sidewalk and taking out a small tree in a very short time. Its been a year now and couldn't be happier. Highly recommend! read more

Surfside Pavers recently did our back and side yard pavers. Keith and crew were fabulous. We wanted a more natural look to the yard and they worked with us every step of the way to getting just what we wanted. We could not be more pleased with the way they handled our project and the results achieved. From quote to joint filling and cleanup, we felt like they cared about every aspect of our project as if it were their own. I don't do reviews often, but the folks at Surfside Pavers earned it. We had a fairly large project , we had to remove a large concrete driveway and concrete patio along with an old paver patio, segments of the the irrigation system had to be rerouted, we made some last minute pattern changes that were easily handled.The sales rep Kevin Bak was hands on and extremely knowledgeable.He made an appearance daily, always returned our calls or texts, and simply didn't disappear after the contract was signed. We hired Surfside Pavers to do a large deck around our new pool, a firepit and seating area. We are blown away by how great everything is! Our contact, Keith, has gone above and beyond to make sure deadlines were met and that we were satisfied. He was extremely communicative and never let a phone call or text go unanswered.
