Extremely unprofessional management. My teenager went to an open interview, and the manager started the interview but left mid-conversation, saying "excuse me." She was gone for about 15 minutes, came back to resume, and then left again after just two minutes to handle other tasks. This repeated a third time--with each absence getting longer--and the final time, she never returned at all. My child was left sitting there for two hours. I honestly thought she had been hired and was already in orientation. That's how long she was kept waiting without any communication. Completely unacceptable. read more

Upon entry there are multiple computers there to sign waivers which is pretty standard for entertainment centers for kids. We fill out the waivers then proceed to the next computer to purchase game cards. The interface is pretty bad. It doesn't explain the different types of options. After reading the screen we asked an associate to explain the type only to learn that she had the wrong info. There aren't any greeters so we had to walk to the one game station that had an attendant. Pricing higher than similar establishments (such as Dave & Buster). The kids did play but overall said it was kind of boring and not enough games read more

My first and last time here! Customer service was horrible from the time I entered the establishment with my child. The teen staff members are more concerned with chatting with each other than paying attention to the customer waiting in line (Go Kart staff). We went to eat at the onsite restaurant, and there was a sign saying wait to be seated, but no one was there to seat you. There were only 3 other tables with people eating. Our waitress could not figure out her order taking device, overcharged me for my food, and tried to slide it past me because she did not know how to correct the price on the machine. After I told her that I would not pay the wrong price (menu said $27, bill said $32) she then told me if I wanted it corrected it's going to take a while because she needs to find a manager, I told her I don't care because I want to pay the price on the menu, she then told me "you need to calm down". After waiting for 20 minutes I went to the kitchen to find her and I didn't see her so I asked another staff member if there was a manager around, they took me to the manager and the waitress was with her trying to figure out how to remove the $5 overcharge. By this time, I was frustrated and offered to pay the incorrect bill just so I could go play games with my kid. The waitress then said the manager gave me a discount by removing the $5 overcharge, which was incorrect. The catfish po boy was dry as heck, and the catfish was not seasoned (i asked for tartar and it took forever to get it because the waitress had to "find it"). The food service was quite horrid. We put in an order for our kid's food and drinks as soon as we sat down. Juice and chocolate milk are on the menu for kids, but the server said they didn't have that. She eventually checked and said they do have chocolate milk. She didn't know what Dos Equis is when I requested it. Family joined us 20 min later, and we still had nothing. Our two kids started getting stir crazy at the table. Our family's drink orders came out, then our beer, and I had to again ask for my kids' drinks. She eventually brought them after we'd been there a total of 30 min. My husband and I ordered the Original Nachos, which stated it comes with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. It came with just cheese and chips. I asked for other things, and the server said that they "come on the side" and then asked if we still wanted it, and I had to clarify that we did. I asked for my kids' food, and she asked me if we "rung it in." I asked her if she did when we first sat down and ordered it, she said she did, and then it came out after all of our other food. Food service was so bad, that I had to leave a review. The rest of the area that wasn't run by people (self-service for getting play cards and running games) was awesome. We had loads of fun for hours because games were affordable. The kids loved that aspect, and the night ended up being fine because of that. read more

My wife and I stopped in to check the place out today. The interior was very pleasing to the senses.. lots of lights, sounds and good decor. We did not come to play games today, but rather to try the food. This was a rather bad decision! Opted for the Who Dat Shrimp as an appetizer. The menu description " a generous portion of from lightly battered and flash fried and tossed in our spicy, sweet chili Ginger aioli." What we got was fried shrimp that seemed to be fried well, but the texture of the shrimp was rather tough. It was on a bed of crispy chopped lettuce. The shrimp was not tossed in the sauce, but squirted on top as if it was ketchup on fries. The shrimp was rather bland. I don't believe this was fresh Gulf Shrimp. I believe it's more like a farmed shrimp from Asia. My wife ordered the friedsteak sliders, and I ordered the Brees Burger Experience. The only thing I must say about the menu description of the burger " two 4 ounce USDA Brisket-Chuck Blended burger patties seasoned and seared to a nicely charred crust while remaining juicy inside." The waitress brought her fried steak sliders and I received cheeseburger sliders which I immediately refused. She later returned with the Brees Experience Burger. The waitress left our table and I opened the burger up. Where are my two quarter pound patties? There were three little pieces of meat about the size of smashed meatballs. I called another waiter over and asked him what is this? I cannot explain the look on his face other than utter surprise. He said it looked like slider patties. They obviously took my cheeseburger sliders back and put the meat on this burger which is a completely different type of meat. I told him I did not want them to make another one. Her Pride steak sliders looked good, but she did not try them due to waiting on my burger to come out of the kitchen and eat together. We promptly left the estabishment. Visually the place has a lot of potential. There seems to be some management and training issues. I recently had my son's sixth birthday party at Surge Entertainment in Mobile (March 23, 2024) and had a terrible experience. No one attending the party had ever been to Surge before, so it was a first time for all six adults and six children attending. When we arrived, we entered the business to find utter confusion. There was no employee in sight to greet us or instruct us. We wondered through the chaos of the arcade to the back of the very large business and, after several minutes, found a business desk. The employees escorted us to the party rooms, but found that the party room we rented had not been cleaned. The employees placed us in the "walk-in" party room. The other party rooms had the birthday child's names written on the doors and various decorations, but not ours. We scheduled the go-cart party plan, but immediately were told our six-year-old and his friends did not meet the height requirement (a detail that could have been explained during my phone call with the party planner before we paid the $100 deposit for the party). They switched us to the "arcade party" at last minute, and the manger told me I would receive a discount. The manager specified that I would end up "receiving a partial refund" at the end unless we paid for more activities. We did not do any extra activities, and I never received any such discount. I wanted my son's party to go well, so I went with the flow. The game-play experience, however, was not acceptable. Play cards for arcade games did not work and had to be remade, and the business was full of rowdy, unsupervised teenagers (12 to 16), running around. Most of the employees were less-than-helpful teenagers as well. The party was supposed to be two hours, starting at 6pm, but my son and his friends were not able to even start playing in the arcade until 6:30 or 6:45. The business became more crowded with people aged 14 to 19 as the night went on. It started looking like a "teen night club." We had several questions about the price of the party (because of the plan switch at last minute and the fact that nearly every activity in the business is a separate price), and we had general questions about how to experience the business. Finding helpful or informed employees, however, was nearly impossible. I gathered my son's party in his party room at 7:45pm for my son to open his presents, and we left by 8pm. I was so unhappy with the experience that I wanted to leave as soon as possible. I found the business to be woefully understaffed and disorganized. There is a sign at the front that reads, "Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult," but that is clearly not enforced. Considering the recent shootings calls of juveniles with guns at Bel Air mall (where Surge is located), one would think more efforts would be made to enforce the rules, keep children safe create a good experience at a business that advertises "family fun." I ended up paying $250 for mass chaos, confusion and headache. Surge Entertainment in Mobile was everything I feared it would be and I will never return. Experiences like mine are why Mobile families choose Eastern Shore Lanes in Spanish Fort or arcades/bowling alleys in Biloxi casinos over local businesses like Surge. I predict Surge will close in a year or two if things do not drastically change. read more

Called ahead to see if they were doing the $10 per person unlimited bowling. The woman stated yes so we drove over there. We arrived at 8:20 and they close at 10 pm. When we got to the bowling alley there was nobody there to help at the desk. After about 5 minutes a family that was ahead of us in line went to try to find someone but couldn't find anybody. I then went to try to find someone myself and found a girl. Told her that we were trying to get a lane to bowl and she stated yes "I'm not selling anymore lanes" . I asked her "when do you stop selling lanes" she then replied "when I say so. We close at 10". This is a prime reason as to why this place will not succeed. There were plenty of lanes available. I felt bad for the family in front of us because they had a little baby and 6 year old kid that they got ready to take bowling. Will not be going back. read more

We went to Surge for a dual birthday party for my children. Wr originally booked the party from 5:00 to 7:00. Later, we asked if we could change the time, and the person on the phone said, they could change it to 5:15-7:15. That worked for us. We arrived with a massive 2 tier cake, but no one greeted us. We had no idea where to go, and the cake was extremely heavy. Someone finally told us just head towards the bowling part, and someone will be there. Okay, we do that, but no one was there. We are still carrying this massive cake, and I am now looking for a place to put it. We were afraid that the weight woild cause a drop. Finally, someone let us in the room where it was ice cold. It was 63 degrees, and everyone was shivering. On the tables, were table clothes, tiny punch cups, and a small black napkin in the small cup. There were no silverware. We asked the host to try to get the air conditioner to a decent temperature that we were miserable. They finally got someone to adjust it, but it was still ridiculously cold. We wore jackets. In the meantime, we are wasting our party time with the host and everyone being gone. So, I said, we can cut the cake while we wait on the host except there were no silverware. We sent more guests out to find silverware, and no drinks had been provided either. So, we are staring at the cake wasting party time. The silverware were just thrown on the table, and we ate cake. Finally, the host offered us pitchers of water. Then after waiting again, we went to laser tag. You cannot just do the activities without your host. When we got in there, the party was delayed again, because the tutorial would not work. They had to give verbal instructions. One of the players system never worked, but noone offered a redo or credit. So, now, we are starting to rush because of the delays by Surge. So, we are like, we need to do the activties then eat. Except, the staff is not there to go to the next event, rope course. We send people to find someone because the party time is ticking. Then we have to gather everyone from looking for help. We head to the ropes and are standing in line for a while, before someone says, "what can we do for you". I guess no one gave this man the okay for the people. So, we told him that we were a birthday party package. He said okay, and eventually, we got on the ropes. Keep in mind , every single delay comes off your birthday package time. So, we come back and scarf down some pizza and only get one punch cup of soda each not even a regular glass. So, people are now getting water bottles to drink something while trying to find someone to take us to the next event. Delayed again! We are now rushing! I decided to stay in the arcade while waiting on the party to complete the last activity. We still have 10 minutes left, because we had changed the party time which I have a picture of as proof. Two employees walk up to us and were like your party was up five minutes ago. I said, we have the room from.5:15 to 7:15. His response to our host, give them nine minutes. I was rushing up to this point, because the party was mishandled. However, this part is where I became frustrated. I told my party that we had five minutes to clean up, because I was confronted by two employees before our party time ended. Apparently, the person that told us that he changed the party time, did not change the party time in the system. It was embarrassing to be confronted in the open arcade for everyone to see and hear. Then, when you couple that with no utensils, not enough drink, delay after delay by disorganization which made the party rush to the point that two people left, a frozen room, and a non-working Lazer tag, I was very disappointed and frustrated by Surge's handling of my two kids' party. Plus, it says special gift for vip birthday person. What was that, and when do we get it? I will be contacting someone about this, and I have pictures. For the amount of money charged plus the huge tip that we had to leave, you would think that they would make a child's birthday happy. This birthday package is not what it seems when we booked it on- line in our experience. I would have just chalked it up as a bad experience and not come back if the two employees had not taken this too far by confronting me despite having time left in my party despite being delayed over and over by Surge. It is not our fault that Surge's employee did not change the party time in the computer. This was so poorly organized and handled by Surge! read more

Restaurant service was nonexistent, took more than 15 minutes to even get our order taken. Another 20- 30 minutes to get (some) of our food and then another 10-15 to complete our food order. The three of us were almost done with our meal, when they delivered the last meal. Sliders were dry, the triple-decker club had more cheese, then meat, 1 slice of meat each. (triple decker my a**) WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE RESTAURANT EATING. Had to ask the server for more drinks and again for utensils. read more

Very disappointed in the service here. Went to play on their golf simulator. Waited at the desk for 20 minutes with untrained employees saying their machine wasn't working and needed a manager. Once we got to the bay we got a bag of clubs, and asked the guy who came to help why we got clubs with duck tape on them, and broken pieces moving on them. He said that's all they had and that's how they received them when they bought them. The bays simulator was slow and non responsive. Some games weren't available to play cause of the machine and they said to not worry about it. Our time was up and we went to get our deposit and they told us we broke the club and wouldn't get our deposit back. Asked to talk to a manager and they said they got them like that and they could only enforce the rules. Only recommend eating here. Servers are great and very polite. read more

Has the potential to be great, but half the games are broke or out of service. No employees seem to be on the same page or have a clue what is going on or how something is supposed to work. The laser tag is a joke, would be so fun if you could get in without being skipped. Overpriced to the max and the go karts are too slow to be enjoyable. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

A lot of fun. My son and I took my 5 year old granddaughter. The arcade is great. We didn't really get to try any of the special things other than the mini golf, which we all enjoyed, esp as it was New Orleans themed. The food was good. Everything is pretty expensive though. 10/10 do not recommend. I booked a birthday party for my daughter a month in advance. I worked with Tasha, she was amazing. You could tell she took pride in her job and was very professional and knowledgeable. Based off my experience with her I had great expectations for the day. Unfortunately, she was off the day of my event and for lack of better words, it was a shit show. When I arrived, I was greeted by managers, Kourtney and Thomasina, also both were very professional and wonderful. We got the party room setup; the party was set to start at 4:30. We had 4 bowling lanes in the VIP room booked for 2 hours. When guests started to arrive, we asked to have the lanes turned on, because they had not been turned on. After 30 mins the lanes were still not on. I had to chase down the 2 gentleman who were supposed to be working the counter to tell them again to turn them on, our party host had already asked twice. When they were still not turned on, I went out to ask again, there was a line of people waiting to pay and get shoes. I walked up to the counter to tell them they were still not on, and the young man told me I needed to wait in line. Once they finally turned them on, they did not work. You could roll the ball and knock the pins down but it didn't keep score or move to the next player, we had to constantly reset it. By this time, we are an hour into the party. There was a gentleman standing at the counter on his phone, I later learned he was the general manager, Shawn, who did absolutely nothing. Did not even look up from his phone or identify himself as a manager. They finally moved our party to 4 different lanes, where only 1 lane worked for a full game. After the party I was told I was still going to be charged for 4 lanes for 2 hours. I asked for Shawn the manager to call me, he did not. I ended up having to go back up there to speak with him and he was very unprofessional and condescending. Basically insinuating, very loudly that I didn't want to pay for my party. I don't mind paying for what I actually got. We will not be returning, several of our guest also said the same thing based off what they witnessed. Very unorganized and chaotic. This place has great potential but unfortunately it's not going to last, with the staff they have that are untrained, have the "not my job, not my problem attitude" and managers like Shawn and Matison, it wont last. Dave and Busters is coming next to Top Golf, lets hope they understand that quality staff is better than quantity. read more

Could have been fun but not a well ran business. Took my 14 yo son and his friend to play in the simulation booth. We made a reservation and arrived early. Upon arrival they brought us to our booth with the required equipment to play the games (balls and bats and such). We were informed when we got to the booth that they did not have soccer ball, baseball, or left handed clubs. My son is left handed, so basically we could just kick field goals. I asked if we could get a discount since they basically had none of the equipment required to play the games. I just got a laugh. When we had about 10 min left, the people in the booth next to had some left handed clubs we grabbed and had fun with the golf with the limited time remaining. The people could also care less that they didn't have enough equipment for a whopping 3 booths. I will not be back. read more

I booked a private dining room for our company holiday party. There were 14 of us in attendance. It took an hour to get our first round of drinks and almost 2 hours to get food. The managers Shannon and Beau were nonchalant about our issue. We finally went to play a few games and when I walked back into our private dining room, they had thrown all of our food and drinks away! I'm talking about 2 pizzas with only 2 slices eaten on each, 12 wings from a 15 wing order, a full burger without a bite taken out of it! We had even asked for boxes! The managers "threatened" to pull the CC camera footage and I asked them to do it! They acted like they were going to see a bunch of eaten food. My experiences have been awful. First time we didn't get to get there till 10 but it says they are open till 12. We asked to bowl.. the guy said they are closing at 11 that he could let us pay for 30 mins of bowling.. yea 30 mins. Then we were like no thank you, and decided to eat at the little sports grille they have there. Walked to the hostess stand and she left, then came back and said that their manager just informed them that they closed for the night. I just don't think places should close before their hours are saying diff. We left. Decided we will just go another day earlier to make sure we have time to actually do some things before they closed things down. We got there and were still waiting on another couple to join us. So we decided to eat at the sports grille the hostess did nothing but laugh and mock us. And it was really insulting. She sat us down. And no one ever came. 15/20 mins later after I had gotten up and went back to the stand to ask if she had told anyone we were in their section ..the waiter shows up to the table. So I walked back over to the table sat down. Ordered the drinks and food finally. Then it took 45 mins to get an order of nachos and cheese fries. The couple that met us there ordered food and never got it after an hour or sitting there waiting. So I paid my bill that he took 15 mins to give to me. Cause he was taking something off my order that I didn't even ask him to do. So it just made me have to stand there longer waiting on my ticket! I paid and we went to the arcade. The couple with us didn't get their food so they just got up and went to the arcade to cause they never received it and had waited an hour! Those people sent 6 sheriffs on us to the arcade claiming we didn't pay for our food. Neither one of us. I was like I paid for my food! And I will go get the waiter that took my money to show y'all I paid! And then the other couple didn't even get their food! How you expect them to pay for something they never even got! I went back to the sports grille and found the waiter after I asked the hostess if she knew where he was. She was like what was his name , what did he look like ... not knowing her own coworkers she sat us in HIS SECTION. Then she insulting laughs at me again when I tell her cops came to me telling me I didn't pay for my food and I did pay for my food and I don't appreciate all this bs. We proved we paid so we went back to the arcade. Few mins later our friends came to the arcade they said the waiter MADE them pay for the food that was now cold and prob disgusting and also admitted the reason they never got it at the table was because he kept pushing their order to the side to take orders to the bowling alley! It was all SUPER RIDICULOUS. I prob will never go back, sending the cops on me was enough for me. I didn't think that was cool. They could of gotten all the correct info from the waiter before I was accused of something. Terrible cause it very well could be a fun, great, place to hang out. But the management at the restaurant was poor. That lady was in a bad mood both days we were in there. We will not be going back to this place. the food was not good and took them an hour and a half to bring our food ( we went on a Tuesday the place was empty ) and the games cost on average 3-4 dollars a game. I spent over 100 dollars on games for my 2 kids (12 and 3) for about an hour of playing. I was so disappointed when I left since I took my son there for his birthday he had over the weekend. If the game prices were lowered it would be worth it, but 4 bucks a pop? Your money won't last long.. read more

This is an over priced few minutes of fun. Booked VIP bowling and was surprised that the tables were dirty and sticky. The bumpers for the kids did not work. They said they were sending a tech to fix the bumpers. They never came. The kids got so bored that we asked for refund. They gave us a card to use in the arcade. The first 15 machines are all the claw game. One kid threw away $10 all at once getting nothing in return. Ok now tired and no money left on the card we went to the restaurant. John comes over to take order and informs us that he is only one working as server, bartender, and busser. Hated that for him. He couldn't remember too much. I mean he was busy but he convinced me into getting all the kids a kids meal. It would be cheaper seeing how the fries by themselves cost more than a kids meal. Ok kids meal all around. It took a bit but food came. It was cleanly cooked but so out of the freezer bland. What did I expect?? A michalin five star chef. No but some taste would have been nice. my kids started spring break this week and their idea was to come to surge ! for starters let's just say everyone was rude except one person who as at the go cart counter! everyone else seemed as if you were In there way or didn't want to be bothered . everything my kids wanted to get on they said it was open as such as the obstacle course and it didn't open until 5 . that should be stated prior to buying passes . they wanted to do the dark room and we had to go find someone who could let them ride . everything about today was a waste of time and my money . we said we would try eating and of course there was no one to seat us they looked at us and walked off . its in your best interest to steer clear from surge because it's a bunch of bs staff and waste of money !! read more

They have a good selection of activities and games. However, the food service is abysmal. We had to flag down a server after a long wait. Food came out pretty quickly after however it was brought to the wrong table by someone who appeared to be a manager. No apologies for the slow service just excuses that blamed a field trip that wasn't even in the restaurant. This was my first visit, so I didn't expect much out of food at an arcade, but when you are ordering $21 appetizers, you should be able to expect better. read more

In order for me to even book a party, I had to go on site because nobody will answer the phone nor return a voicemail. This is not the first time this has happened. Back in January for my husband's birthday I tried calling and the same thing happened. No one would answer the phone. When we go to Surge the wait times for anything is always long. The wait staff at the restaurant rushes you through dinner. This place has been an overall disappointment for something that was so hyped up in the beginning. read more

I absolutely love the concept. Having multiple things to do keeps you from getting bored. However my issue lies with the way the establishment is run. My friend and I went bowling and the cashier told us our time started as soon as we paid. Well as soon as we paid, she started talking to another employee without giving us our shoes even though we asked her for them. We sat in line for 10 minutes while she chatted with another employee waiting for shoes. She also didn't tell us what lane we were in until after getting our shoes so we couldn't go ahead and start. While bowling we waited and hour and a half for a cheeseburger. We had to sit and wait to the side after our game was over just for our food. I can't tell you how many people we observed that had issues with their food. We asked multiple staff members if we could get an update and they all said they would check and never returned. If something changes with the way the place is run I will happily change my rating but I will not return to this establishment again and waste my hard earned money. I love Drew Brees and the Who Dat nation but this is a shame Edit: I forgot to mention the entire time we bowled we had our tables right next to our seats pilled up with other people's nasty trash, food and beer. Booked a party for 25 kids. $700. Spent an hour waiting on wrist bands for a 2 hour party. We complained and they gave us a discount so we still paid $350. All kids had went on was two rides. So most kids left and like 5 stayed around to play a couple more games because they only played 2 games in over 2 hours. So we are just talking and waiting and they came and made us leave. Made us get our kids out of line after waiting 30 minutes. The worst place I've ever been. Terrible people. Mobile Al. Don't go there read more

I've been twice now and both times have been terrible. The customer service is always bad. They are rude and do not care about being punctual. They act like doing their job is a burden. The first time I went, the bowling didn't work. The pins wouldn't go back up, scores wouldn't work, they wouldn't up more lanes etc. And when we asked for a refund because we literally couldn't play, the employees were rude. I went today with my brother to try the go karts. We waited 45 minutes before we could even buy tickets. No one was at the counter. After finally getting through- they forgot about us. We were supposed to race at 1:30, we did not get on the karts until 1:50. After I reminded them we existed. While racing, the cars were slow, my brothers literally stopped going. No signage anywhere telling you any information on how much things are except the bowling ally. No sign to the restroom had to ask. No information on the 3d ride at the front had to ask how much and what was playing. Laser tag does not say how much nor does it say you have to have the waiver wristband before you can go in we missed getting in because of that then we had to wait. Bowling g was good and the bartender was excellent. You need signs informing people. read more
