not my first procedure at this facility. Was rushed to sign a stack of forms prior to surgical procedure with little or no explanation other than that they were required. The assistant to the anesthesia was very rough in the way he handled me and especially when he quickly inserted a "bite block" (?) as part of the prep of the endoscopy. Awoke from procedure (anesthesia) finding that more than 2 of my teeth were broken during the procedure and the repairs soon after cost me nearly $4000 in dental work. The anesthesiologist stated that this is a known risk to the procedure and that I signed forms acknowledging such damage as a possibility.. I had no idea that I signed such a release. I would NOT recommend SURGICAL SPECIALISTS AT PRINCETON read more

Place is clean. Front desk check-in is average. Waiting room has the absolute smell of OVERBOOKED. MSNBC on the TV in a packed (i.e., couldn't move away from the TV) waiting room was not only frustrating it was completely annoying. The most biased political network is on in a medical facility? Why? Ridiculous. In for a fasted procedure early (uggh) in the afternoon I waited 45 minutes by that news spewing TV before I was finally taken into the surgical area. There I was put in a bed and I was in there for another hour before my procedure. So for a no eat food before your procedure I was forced to wait 40 plus hours before completion. WAY too long. If you have the option look elsewhere. If not, grin and bear it. The in pre-op, op, and post op care quality is excellent but...management needs to look at some QC, stat. read more

Great patient services and care; horrific billing. Billed in October for March procedure. Paid with online banking and have the cancelled check stamped Surgical Specialists, LLC. Billed again in November, called and was told that October payment was for an earlier procedure. I believed and paid again (again I have cancelled check). Got Final Notice in December. Called and while reviewing docs see that all 3 are clearly for March procedure, so I actually paid twice and they owe me! Was told they have no record of payment and there is nothing they can do; I should pay. Wrote to their Dispute address outlining all, with copies. Wife (patient) was called today and told our credit rating would suffer and that we better resolve this today. I called and was apologized to, but told there is no record of payment and I should contact Surgical Specialists with documentation of payment. I told him that I had (12/20 letter), and he said his best advice is to contact Surgical Specialists with documentation of payment. The nightmare is not over. read more

Complete care and attention!! From stepping in to the lobby, all the way through the anaesthesia and procedures, it was the most comfortable and satisfying experience. Thanks to every one at Surgical Specialists @ Princeton read more

While the exterior looks a bit nondescript, the Surgical Specialists at Princeton is a top notch medical facility and everything you would want a surgical center to be. From professional and attentive staff to immaculate operating facilities and comfortable waiting rooms, this is a quality location for minor surgical procedures. There's also plenty of parking spaces right next to the front door so getting in and out is hassle free (not an unimportant detail post surgery). With regards to my procedure, I really felt like I was in good hands here! Everything from check in to recovery was well done. I was even able to leave far ahead of schedule which was a big plus. As for facilities for those who may drive you, there was a wide open and comfortable waiting room with copious amounts of seating and complimentary coffee. The one downside of the day was the overbearing waiting room TV showing The View at ridiculous volume. I think everybody can agree that it would be nice to not have Joy Behar's voice as the last thing you hear before you walk into the operating room. read more

Was referred here by my doctor (who is a part owner of the facility). I cancelled my surgery prior to the date of operation. The billing specialist quoted me incorrect information, saying that the facility was covered by my insurance, and out of pocket cost was only co-insurance. Luckily, I checked with my insurance company, who told me otherwise. I would have been on the hook for close to 100% of the procedure. I would like to believe that they are just remiss in relaying information, but I know how doctors offices work. This is a business with questionable ethics. Caveat Emptor. read more

It's a surgical center, so it's not normal office of doctors. Both patients and doctors come to use this place on appointments. Nurses here are very friendly and helpful. They are pretty patient and informative. That is definitely a plus for the patients since you are here already means you will get some kind of surgical procedure. Decent waiting room with reasonable coffee selections. The place is quiet and clean. There is also a huge parking lot outside, which is pretty nice. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. Because she was available and my concerns were chronic I booked a tele-visit with Dr. Angela Merlo where I got to pay for her sarcasm. Fast forward to my first procedure and she sends me a script for a colon prep, confusing me, because we were supposed to start with an endoscopy. Not only did she not apologize for her mistake, but she blamed it on me, and informed me that she couldn't do both procedures at once because she said (abruptly) that she didn't have time. Between visits I phoned her about my Covid update and she hung up on me. My conditions still exist, and they are still chronic, but Dr.Merlo today informed me in my last telephone-visit that my situation is "beyond her expertise" and that I need to go to a university hospital. So basically, I got to pay, with insurance and co pays, thousands of dollars to be treated abusively by a physician who was both unprofessional, and out of her depth. What galls me is that the facility, Surgical Specialists of Princeton has not seemed to acknowledge or address the number of Dr. Merlo's poor reviews regarding patient experience. Dr.Merlo should retire gracefully, or SS of P should at the very least intervene on behalf of disappointed and mistreated consumers. She is rude, unprofessional, condescending and incompetent. read more

Clean, five-star facility with great employees. Recommend

The staff is truly excellent. Everyone, from the nurses to the anesthesiologist, was kind and caring. In fact, the anesthesiologist had exceptional medical credentials. The recovery room nurse was extremely attentive as my left eye was a bit slow to open fully. There was nothing wrong, but the nurse kept very careful tabs on me to ensure that I was alright. The nurse who prepped me for my procedure explained everything to me and was just delightful. I could not have felt more comfortable and cared for. read more

These people were awesome. They were so calming during a difficult time. The nurses were down to earth and the anesthesiologist was a God Send. Unfortunately I have to repeat the test. I am looking for Dr's that utilize the services here because of such a positive experience. read more
