Very pretty to look at and probably great for instagram but the (blue monster) ice cream itself is not particularly noteworthy. It is a lot of ice cream and they top off the mason jar, which makes the high price tag slightly less painful. It is great to get once in awhile but a bit too much to get regularly. We built our own and got boba, lychee jelly, Oreos and caramel wafer as our add ins. A bit unusual combo but it was kind of interesting to have drink toppings in the ice cream. The sheer amount of soft serve to consume in one sitting is absolutely astounding. If you love soft serve or ice cream, this one is for you. Otherwise, I'd opt for the kids cup (no shame in that). But the flavors are so true to their name, I regret not having Surreal earlier. The early grey tastes exactly like vanilla but with a hint of earl grey that isn't overwhelming nor too subtle. The vietnamese coffee tastes exactly like vietnamese coffee in soft serve form. I tried the cookie monster flavor I think, which is blue and it tastes like cookies. It absolutely blew me away as to how the flavors are replicated so well. I'd highly recommend coming here just for a sweet treat, even if you're lactose intolerant. For us this was probably a 3 to 4 star experience *but* they deliver on what they advertise so we're giving them a 5 star as people looking for this will probably adore it. We were really looking for someplace to relax with coffee, tea, and maybe some dessert when we landed here. The young man behind the counter was very patient and helpful as we were not familiar with what they were about. He offered us a trial of the earl grey and mocha and we really liked it so we ordered a kid's cup and one of their fancy iced teas. We then had to pick up to 4 treats to put on the ice cream so my dining partner chose a couple and we were done ordering. The tea was excellent. The only thing to warn you all about is the parking. There is a very small lot you can park that is right in front of the establishment however, you would need to backup right into Lancaster which will likely never happen. Some of the most aesthetically pleasing drinks/dessert you will ever have! They have some unique and delicious soft serve flavors, including, earl grey, Vietnamese coffee, taro and matcha. Given that these flavors are pretty difficult to find elsewhere, this place is a win! However, for the drinks, they are as mediocre as you can get. We've had pretty much every flavor so far of the bubble teas and most are just made with mix-in powder. In comparison with the soft serve, it was incredibly underwhelming. Will definitely continue to come for the soft serve, but there are much better bubble tea places for the price. read more

Gigantic soft serve with bubble tea and toppings?! The idea of a flotea blew my mind and I dragged my family to this immediately upon discovery. My son loved it (cup serving is more than enough for me too) as choosing your flavor and toppings is exciting. He basically gets the Nom Nom Cookie when he cannot decide. Make your own is a bonus and mine usually has taro or matcha in it. We tend to sit outside at one of the few tables out front and grab at least 10 napkins because you're going to need them. They have a lot of preset selections for the Flo-teas which are the ice cream swirl + boba . We opted to make our own! We chose brown sugar boba and Earl grey /Vietnamese coffee ice cream which came to appx $11 with tax. The price is pretty steep imo but I will say that it was decadent, delicious , and worth a try ! The ice cream was very mild - we barely tasted the matcha flavor and the taro tasted like vanilla. The workers were constantly yelling at people to keep the door closed, and the space is very small that all the chatter filled the room up with a lot of noise. There was 1 cashier working and 1 person preparing the food. The wait in line was extremely long, but once I ordered it took maybe 10 minutes for my order to be ready. Thai Milk Bubble Tea Vietnamese Iced Coffee Ice Cream Overall: 3/5 - The drink obviously looks amazing. It's asthetic and the focus of everyone's cameras. But after all the pictures are taken, you're left with a very average milk tea with some soft serve ice cream on top -- which is alright and all, but then there's this slush of sorts which separates the two. The slush is awful. So much so that it brought down my rating to a 3. The soft serve is amazing and the milk tea is average, but whatever that slush is in-between really killed the drink for me. I'm not a fan of slushes and I really wasn't expecting the drink to have this slush in it. It tasted like chunks of bland Thai Milk Tea ice cubes that kinda just melts down in your mouth. Thai Milk Bubble Tea: 3/5 - Your standard Thai Milk Tea made from Thai Milk Tea powder. Nothing special here. The bubbles were pretty alright, honestly I was expecting them to be a lot worse than they actually were (I'm a little impressed). It may seem pricey, but the portion size is actually pretty big-- I recommended sharing it with one or two other person. The place is small but surprisingly there was a good amount of seating. Everything looked as good if not better than on Instagram. I thought the ice cream tasted ok. But we only got taro and no tea because we share it with a 3 year old. This place is definitely surreal. If you are a dessert and sweet this place is your 2 star Michelin star creamery shop. They have the both ice cream and bubble tea so take your pick based on what you feel! I got the matcha taro on a long cup. Holy... That combo is unreal good. I can taste the distinct matcha taste and taro taste yet at the end, it comes together and complements each other so well. The Earl tea ice cream wasn't really my cup of tea (pun intended) but if you like that earthy taste, totally for you. The second was Thai tea ice cream with Oreos and chocolate sauce in a mason jar. Holy... This was one of the best things I have tasted. The explosion of sweetness was... Surreal... The price is expensive for the ice cream however, the amount that they give is ungodly. But it was just two components, each of which was done poorly. The boba themselves were bland, the taro milk tea lacked any of its usual distinctive earthiness, and the soft serve was again just bland. My two loves in life! Ice cream and boba have come together in the most beautiful way at Surreal Creamery lol This was my first time visiting and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Everything from the service to the ice cream and boba were all just perfect. I was happy to see that they are slowly expanding locations through PA. Although I came in on a Wednesday, it was quite crowded. This makes sense considering that this location is in the middle of several college campuses. Upon walking in, I was shocked by how incredibly hot the temperature of the inside was. I honestly felt bad for the employees working. After waiting about 7 minutes for some customers in front of me, it was time for me to order. The employee running the register was helpful in answering questions I had regarding customizing my own ice cream. I went for a Custom Mason Jar. I chose Taro Soft Serve topped with Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles, Condensed Milk, and a wafer cookie. I waited for about 10 minutes until my order was ready. While the wait wasn't too long for how busy it was, the heat was killing me. I felt bad for the employees; they seemed to be understaffed for how busy they were. Once I grabbed my order, I searched for napkins and spoons. Both dispensers were empty after I grabbed one of the last napkins in the dispenser. In terms of my order, I was super excited to dig in. The ice cream portion is very large. Regardless of it being 12 dollars, I get a huge dessert and mason jar to keep. For prices nowadays, that seems fair to me. I walked outside to have my dessert before the heat inside completely melted it. In terms of the taste of my ice cream, I was obsessed. The Taro Soft Serve is creamy, tasty, and very flavorful. The toppings I had gotten complemented the taro flavor very well. The only issue I had was trying to eat my ice cream portion fast enough before the bottom portion of the jar became too runny. Regardless, I found the eating experience very enjoyable. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this place. The service was lacking a bit, but I came in on a very busy night. Every employee seemed to be doing their best to still be pleasant despite the rush of customers. For the amount I paid, I felt that the portion, taste, and quality were awesome.
