I reached out to Surv at the recommendation of a local Realtor to help move some heavy items. The two young men who arrived were professional, careful, and able to lift the heavy items up and downstairs. I would hire them again as needed, with a recommendation and lesson learned to have a better feel for how many hours you really need prior to booking versus what they recommend. They worked with me to adjust my invoice when the team was done in half the time. Going forward I'll know to book the minimum amount of time, and can always add on at another point in the future. read more

I have used this service several times and been satisfied with the people and the caliber of work. I signed up for a monthly membership but found I did not use it as much as I thought I would so cancelled with a balance remaining. I called Dec. 2025 to confirm what the balance was and was told it had several hundred dollars I could use. When I attempted to set up a job and use it two weeks ago, they could not find the money. After two weeks of phone calls, today I was told the membership had expired in June and the money was forfeited. No attempt to refund the money, just taken with no services or notice provided. Surv's management completely botched my move, destroyed my furniture, and then had the audacity to try to overcharge me for it.The company's logistics team sent two young guys with a truck that was far too small for the job. Because of management's poor planning, it required a second trip to a new house nearly an hour away. The job was so badly understaffed by the company that one of the workers had to leave before the second trip, leaving my boyfriend and me to do a massive amount of the heavy lifting ourselves. We actually felt so bad for the two workers who were put in this terrible position by their employer that we tipped them well--this failure belongs entirely to the company's dispatch and planning, not them.On top of leaving the move completely unfinished--forcing me to hire an entirely separate moving company days later to finish the job--their careless logistics resulted in severe property damage. As you can see in the attached photos, they badly gouged and scratched my wooden table, and they broke knobs completely off our dressers and bookcases.To top off this absolute nightmare, Surv customer service contacted me to state they are charging me an additional $1,000 for a move they didn't even successfully complete. I'm happy to adjust my review to five stars as I did have a positive experience. We utilized SURV twice for a move. Unfortunately, the workers did break some furniture. They took photos of it and claimed that we would hear back from the office. We never did. I've called at least three or four times and we're told we will get a call back from someone. We have not. Every time I called they say that department is not available or they're closed for the day. It's unfortunate because the furniture that is damaged is very visible and it's something we utilize every day. read more

I just read Annette W review. Very similar experience. They don't answer the phone, hang up and no one calls you back. Also do not what ever you do sign up for a subscription. I ended up with over 600 dollars credits that I did not even realize. They also lie on their statements. Because I had credits I could not ask for my money back. Here is an example. The worked showed up for 2 hours and it was very hot. He left. They billed me for what I thought was 2 hours then they sent me a statement for only 5 hours left. Keep in mind they charge 67 bucks an hour - just awful and don't get involved with them. I wish I never used them and you will do. BEWARE. This business will not answer the phone AFTER you pay them. They switch out their workers (last minute) who are NOT skilled in what you hire them for. Afterwards, I suggested a very reasonable solution - my number one item could not be done. I called to negotiate the time (asking for particle credit-1 hour) when they sent another worker - who could not do the job. They were ADAMANT about NOT taking a single penny off.... The robotic receptionist just kept saying "we can reschedule for another session, at full cost".... They did NOT complete the job they were hired for and would not give ANY consideration. TERRIBLE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY loss for them. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, "join" the monthly club.... These people seem legitimate, however, THEY ARE NOT. I had asked for a hedge trim. This was either the Newport or Middletown office. They sent a nice young man, but a sudden squall came up, one that was not predicted. I told the employee half an hour before that there would be no cutting in a damp environment, even with a battery powered chainsaw. The young man was willing, but I was not. ( I had to pay $37 for "reserving a place." The $37 is paid the office by credit card before the job is done. I'm sure the nice employee never saw a penny.) i love this service. I have been using them for several years. I book two hours and make a list that would take me 5 hours to accomplish (because I am old and slow). The worker that comes has always been wonderful, friendly, efficient, respectful of property and time, and so very helpful. And they always finish the list of tasks provided and if there time, continue to help with other tasks. I can not recommend them enough. Jamestown, RI. On Nov 30, 2024 Gio, Carter and a third Surv employee arrived late to load two 16' PODS. On site were 16 moving blankets and 6 winch straps. I pointed out the blankets to Gio and he asked, "where do you want me to use them"? I replied I thought he should know how to deploy them? I pointed out the straps to Carter and he replied, "okay". I was distracted by other tasks the majority of loading process. It was a mistake to be hands off. I directed certain things to go in a particular POD; dining room table, leaves and six chairs. The leaves did not get loaded in either POD and only four chairs loaded in the designated POD. Four folding chair they walked by each time they went out the door, never loaded. Three milk crates stacked atop each other, two loaded one left behind. Miscellaneous items in the same room, some taken others not. A small outdoor storage container from the patio was placed on top of an upholstered chair with no blanket to protect the chair to which I directed them to remove the patio piece. At destination and before unloading local movers pointed out damage to the tops of furniture and chair legs where NO blankets were used. Furniture that was placed on top of another piece had no blanket covering the base piece. Maximum four blankets were used and no straps. Pictures taken when the POD arrived BEFORE local labor touched one piece displayed damage to the table top and the piece resting on top where no blanket was placed to protect the base piece. I was just advised today by Chloe of my claim status, DENIED. Reason? Gio claimed they used all available blankets, Carter stated "someone" was in the POD moving pieces around they had already stacked. And a non-Surv entity unloaded the PODS. Chloe advised they bring at least 40 blankets to a move like this. Good to know. I had 16, they used 4. In affect my description of the events are not believed and pictures were ignored. If you engage Surv for their moving services be sure you are present during the entire loading process and direct where you want each blanket placed and strap affixed. Make sure each room is completely emptied before they move onto another room in the house. read more

The amazing duo of Eddie and Ben from Surv came to my house to move furniture around and then drive two miles away to pick up a couch to bring back to my house. They were fantastic as one couch in my house was heavy and needed the feet removed to get through a door, and while the other couch was lighter, it was also wide and with feet that would not come off! We used Rent Sons this past summer to move from Providence to Charlestown. We contacted them with plenty of time ahead of the big day and followed up with them a few times until we figured out what was best for our needs. We ended up renting a uhaul on our own, and chose to have two members of their team help us load the truck. On the morning of, I picked up the truck and when I arrived home, the two guys were there waiting for me. They loaded the truck for 2 hours, and then we realized that there was no way that we could unload all of that on our own, so they offered to check with their boss to see if they could extend their time. In the end they helped us load the truck for 2 hours, then drove 45 min to meet us at our new place, and then proceeded to unload the truck for another 2 hours. I cannot say enough good things about them. I highly recommend them and will certainly use them in the future. They do just about anything and everything. Yard work, clearing out basements, you name it. They are very reasonably priced and well worth every cent. Incompetent. At $60/hour I expect some basic level of ability. Yet these workers need constant supervision from weeding gardens (they pulled up tulip and lily bulbs and put them in the trash), bagging trash (didn't use provided trash bags), watering plants (left the hose on), sweeping patio (swept debris onto driveway and left it there instead of bagging with provided bags), moving clothes in boxes to basement (stacked at foot of stairs so no way to get past them), leave doors to outside open, leave lights on, don't return tools, brooms, to where they got them, other small, very simple tasks. They are not just inexperienced, but have very poor judgment. If I give any suggestions as to how to do something, the workers call someone at the office, tell their version of what happened and I am chastised later that day because of their misrepresentation of the facts. I have been a customer for almost 10 years. They often arrive late and ask if they can leave early as their next job is so far away. These are NOT local workers; they come from all over RI (maybe MA?) but not from near my location. Pat Brown, the founder, is no longer involved at the ground level and it shows with no returned phone calls, unanswered questions, and generally not customer oriented. At $25/hour I can just think to myself "these are just kids" but at $60/hour, they are grown-ups and and management needs to hold them, not me, accountable. read more

Brutal. Hired them to help wife moving items from a storage unit into a pod, they indicated they have pod packing experience. They also were hired to disassemble a hutch for the pod. They poorly and improperly packed the pod creating an issue that the pod wasn't big enough. The put items from storage back into a garage because they didn't know how to pack a pod. They continually moaned about getting their rental truck back in time and left my wife in sub feeezing tempartures as night was coming. ON TOP OF NOT DOING WHAT THEY INDICATED and leaving my wife by herself, the office charged us an additional $285 for "Extra labor" all they offered was a credit towards future jobs.
