I began my project under the previous owner and was told the new owner was "too busy" to provide any transition information explaining how existing projects would be handled. After receiving preliminary plans that showed no changes, I requested a call to discuss my project. It took approximately ten emails and direct involvement from the owner before a call was finally scheduled. That call was recorded. Following the call, there were 79 emails exchanged regarding my project. Throughout the process, I experienced what I believe was a lack of professionalism, responsiveness, and technical knowledge. At one point, the owner accused me of making project changes and expecting work to be performed for free. Fortunately, the communications were documented through recordings and written correspondence, which I contradict those accusations. Given my experience, I would strongly recommend considering other options before hiring this company. read more

Extremely unprofessional. My GC reported that Ms. Gail tried to charge charge for every site visit--even when her team was onsite for less than two hours. She attempted to bill me over $11,000 for what should have been basic corrections to her own errors and when questioned she told him: "The owner has money, so I'm going to make him pay" and "It's not your money, so don't tell me what to charge." This kind of greed and attitude is unacceptable--avoid Survey Systems at all costs. read more

No adequate marking of my residential property lines which I specifically wanted done for the purpose of erecting a fence. I expected stakes with brightly colored ribbons, metal or wood that could be seen visually above ground and not lying on the ground. One corner of the property does not have a marker or pin at all. I sent a letter of complaint to the senior consultant stating that the surveyors pushed orange ribbons into the ground in a few places. I expected stakes or pins above ground in plain sight." This is a partial quote of the reply I received in an email response. "We do not determine property ownership......And for a parcel of land that hasn't been surveyed since 1972, there is no way anyone can remember any property corners from 60 years ago. Those are simply opinions of others and are not based on solid fact, but our survey is." read more

Our experience with Survey Systems & Associates was awful. After the initial house survey, Gail flaked out repeatedly and made numerous mistakes throughout the permit process with the city. On one occasion, when she mistakenly sent in paperwork saying that we had a tree removed, a city arborist came out to inspect and I had to explain to him that it was the survey company's mistake. After each screw up and there were many, dragging the permit process out for almost a year (which had nothing to with the city being slow), Gail would never own up to her mistakes. The only time she did was when she sent out the wrong house survey to multiple parties saying she was in Iceland for a wedding, but no apologies for all the previous bumbling. Eventually, the project never came to be and that really had little to do with this company. But the whole process went on forever and we had to email Gail a ridiculous amount of times to get her to do anything. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. It was nothing but a waste of my time. I set out to look for survey companies and came across Survey Systems & Assoc. I was told it would take about 2 weeks for someone to get out and complete survey. Which was fine. I paid my initial deposit on 07/21/22 and the survey was complete by 08/2/22. The survey came with instructions on the requirements for site plans. I was informed the drafting queue was currently averaging 3 weeks for completion. I searched for my plans and on 08/14/22 I sent an email to them with my plans and asked if they were suffice in order to complete the site plan. I wanted to insure they were fine to use prior to purchasing them. I sent a follow up email on 08/16/22 and then made a call when I spoke with June who told me Gail handles the site plans. Gail had a ton of emails and since I sent that follow up email that my email was now back at the bottom of the list and I had to wait until Gail got to it and called back. (great customer service). Later that week, Gail called and I fwded her the plans again. She emailed back and confirmed the plans were fine to use. I purchased them (approx.$1500) and completed all paperwork requesting to include them getting the permits for me. I had to get ppwk notarized. Everything they needed I completed and sent back asap. She followed up on 08/29/22 via email stating she needs photos of the proposed area b/c it was unclear. I sent those immediately. It was not until 09/16/22 that Gail called me and stated they cannot proceed with the site plan since it was in a flood zone and the only suggestion she had was to contact an engineer but likelihood of the county approving that would be a slim chance. They had the survey since 08/2/22 and she didn't realize that. She had me fill out ppwk and send photos for nothing. She agreed to refund what we paid for the survey. However not even that was done timely. After a week of no refund, I had to follow up. The refund was never issued until I had to follow back up and it was refunded on 09/27/22. Not only did this waste about 2 months, we also lost $1500 for detached garage plans that we could not even use now. I would NEVER recommend this company. read more

DO NOT USE GAIL UNLESS YOU HAVE TIME TO WASTE AND ARE OK WITH VERBAL ABUSE Gail is over whelmed, provides horrible customer service, and can't handle the amount of surveys/clients she has at the present moment and takes her frustration out on her clients. On May 25th, Gail told me: send over deposit, we'll get you schedule for the survey, and once it's done we'll submit your application for a lot divide. After sending over the requested documentations twice (May 25th and June 25) and then asked for the same documents a third time on June 28 , I expressed my concerns via email and was met with a frustrated call from Gail the next morning. She was rude, cut me off while I was speaking, and was unaware of where my project was and that I paid my invoice in full. She expressed how she has others working for her, can't keep up with clients, and don't have time to give expectations for the overall timeline. Gail WAS very informative and helpful but after she took my deposit it quickly became unavailable, unresponsive, and inefficient. Timeline: surveyed completed on June 14th and she still has yet to submit for a lot divide and is unaware that everything she asked for was sent twice to the exact same email she corresponds with. read more

I am starting to think this company is a complete scam. They charged me $1700 for a survey, and made me pay half up front but they still have not provide a copy of the drawing after they told me it would only take a few days. This is completely unprofessional. It has been two weeks since the someone went out into the field to do the work, and I am still waiting for the survey. If you tell a customer you are going to provide the drawing within a few days, please keep to your word! It is completely unprofessional and frustrating for the customer to keep waiting for a service that they have already paid money towards. I do not recommend this company at all. read more

It isn't often that you feel compelled to write a positive survey about a company you didn't actually do business with, but I was so impressed with Gail's forthrightness that I thought I would share my experience. I called Survey Systems to get a quote to have 4+ acres surveyed before purchasing. Gail was able to assess the site from her resources in-office and advise me on several issues with the property that made it undesirable for our use. She could have charged me a significant amount of money to do a costly survey that would have yielded the same information but freely shared her professional opinion, instead. She saved me from making an expensive mistake and is at the top of my list for any future survey work! read more

I worked with this company starting in late April. They had a 6-8 week completion date which is typical. However; when the project was sent as "completed" 8 weeks later, it had to be revised multiple times mostly in part to this companies code errors on the side plan with the stormwater systems, grease trap requirements, department of transportation placement of sidewalks and street lights were all incorrect. In July we notified them that we need two final revisions with and without parking due to the city not being sure if it was a requirement since our property was built before 1965. They agreed to these changes once a final payment was made. Something I now regret. I attached the email below from a Gail Mooney stating they would make these final changes. When I followed up to have these changes made we were told that they will not have to be done simply because they don't have to and we would have to pay another $2500.00 to make these simple changes. I wouldn't recommend working with this company for any restaurant project as they are unaware & uneducated on the codes for permitting for the restaurant /hospitality industry. They did not give us a completed site plan months later and we now have to hire someone else to revise this incomplete incorrect plan. We also had to resort to filing a dispute on our credit card as they have refused to not even partially refund us for not completing the changes they agreed to. Seek another Site Plan/Surveyor. I am very sure there are much better service providers in Atlanta that won't take your money and run. read more

Gail and her team went above and beyond with providing us our land survey and guiding us through the permit process on our new home. She is always available for questions which was great for us first timers, and delivered us the plans before her proposed deadline. On top of that, you get 5 star service at a great rate, she beat out the 3 other quotes we got from her competitors. We would not be this far along without her, and I would recommend her to anyone with the highest confidence. The only issue is that the secret is out in the industry (our architect recommended her) and because of this gets a lot of work, so book her while you can!! read more

BEWARE! Very unprofessional company. Gail the owner directly lied to me. I was told on Monday they would be here Either Tuesday or Wednesday. So Friday came around, no communication from Survey Systems. Friday morning 8:20am, I give them a call. Gail the owner tells me, And I quote "He's on his way now." 12noon comes around, no sign Of Survey Systems. I call Gail again, she lies to me and changes her story and claims she said sometime today. A direct lie, and she originally told me he was on his way multiple times! Gail told me to "shut up", I told her to F off! And then I fired her and her company. Avoid, avoid, avoid this company! Our experience was horrible from beginning to end. We hired Survey Systems and Gail at the recommendation of our contractor. He quoted us a discounted referral price for his customers which we checked verbally with Gail, the owner on our first contact with her. During the subsequent contacts with Gail, she insisted that our lot was much bigger and therefore would be much more expensive than the quote we were given for an under .5 acre lot. She said nothing of added fees or costs even though we asked (we had recently had issues with another contractor because details weren't in spelled out, so we were extra careful). After her surveyor came out and she knew the size of the lot, she sent us an invoice for almost twice the agreed up rate, stating the lot was over .5 acres and she added a misc fee. After we paid her immediately, we received the survey the next day. As we expected, the lot was under .5 acres. We emailed her politely pointing out the billing error, which was clearly listed on the invoice. Instead of correcting it and apologizing, she gave us every reason she could think of why she didnt need to change it. After 3 days and multiple emails later, she 'agreed' to charge us the rate that is published on her website. She did this with the attitude as if she were doing us a favor. This rate was still $125 more than the agreed upon discounted rate we had confirmed before they did the work. We could not believe she spent 3 days and multiple emails trying to get us to be overcharged less when her own invoice and survey showed the billing rate was wrong. Her attitude throughout, even before the upcharges and overcharges was immature, unprofessional and unethical but before the blatant efforts to overcharge us we took it as just her style. On top of that, the surveyors she sent out were less than professional as well. When they showed up, I didnt even think they were the surveyors because they were so unprofessional looking (disinterested attitude, not dressed in clear uniform, etc). Then they spent several hours swearing and cursing loudly for all my neighbors to hear across my wooded backyard as they did their job. On the upside, once they finally came to do our survey (took them a few weeks with bumped appointments) they produced a fine survey in 24 hours. Worth it? NO WAY! Avoid. Run!
