So disappointing ,based on reviews by Yelp and AI I contacted The Eleff law firm. Receptionists took information and said someone would contact me. I gave it a couple days and no response. I saw another number and tried calling that number. I actually got to speak to Susan, I explained what I needed a simple deed transfer and we talked fees and such. She took my email address and said she would be in touch. After 3 weeks of no contact I emailed her back, she responded that she did work but forgot to send. When I received paperwork I looked it over with my husband and decided to move forward. I left another message with a receptionist asking a few questions and she said she would forward message to Susan. No response, I sent Susan another email stating we would like to move forward. No response. It has been over two weeks now. Very disappointing. I am not one to complain or leave negative reviews however I am perplexed when her reviews seemed so positive. If she decided not to represent us based on whatever reason I wish she would have said something instead of ghosting us. read more

Spoke to the lead attorney Susan. She hung up on me mid phone call as I was trying to get some consultation help. It's completely fair if she can't take on my case but I think respect should still be extended to anyone who may be a potential client. It was very rude and unprofessional. Initially started off as professional, but the service declined significantly once I signed on as a client. A true lack of empathy and kindness. I am pretty low maintenance and did not ask for much -- just support with one part of an estate. Multiple emails were blown off and I had to repeatedly request information and updates. Waited weeks for responses, and she didn't even seem to care about the lack of professionalism. I tried calling several times, but calls go unanswered and unreturned, just like emails. At one point, Susan left me a voicemail sarcastically saying she was calling b/c I "seemed mad," after several messages had gone unresponded to, but by then I wanted to keep our interactions in writing only because we had passed the point of hope that this could become a good experience. They charge through the roof for the few messages they do respond to, and the amount of time they claim to spend on their responses and work seems wildly overstated. I've never felt more like I overpaid for something in my life. One of the few things I needed them to do was done incorrectly, and I had to redo it myself and then pay them for doing it wrong. I also had to pay for an inspection that was not required. All in, a waste of over a thousand dollars for unecessary services and errors and delays on Susan's part. I was working on an estate that involved 2 different states and my other attorney ended up offering to reduce his own fee b/c he felt so badly about the service from the Eleff group. Unfortunately we were too far along in the process to get another attorney, but I would absolutely never use this law firm again. Working with them was one of the most difficult parts of dealing with the loss of my father. read more

I have a bit of a law background, so one thing I appreciated was that Susan did not try to oversell me on a more complicated legal document that other lawyers tried to sell me on. The only consideration to have for Susan is that she sometimes did not respond to my emails as quickly as I had hoped. Separately, Susan can come off as very direct and circumspect, so if you are expecting a warm and fuzzy lawyer, this is not the person. None of these things came at the expense of her being an honest, high quality expert in her field. Susan Eleff is a time waster. She enthusiastically responded to my initial inquiry about retaining her to help me create a will for my estate. But then, I never heard from her again; not even after completing the time-consuming worksheet that Susan said that she would need from me to create a will for me. Had she simply told me that she is too busy to accept me as a new client, or whatever was her reason for being unresponsive, then that would have mitigated my loss of time. But, she didn't.
