She saw me quickly, and sat me in her office going over my history, before launching into the examine. She made me feel very comfortable and was very personable. While waiting in her waiting room, I was surrounded by all these pregnant mothers, and they all seemed very happy and confident with her treatment, so that made me feel better, as well. BTW, she is taking new clients again! I will be recommending her to every woman I know, who needs a new GYN. I hope she someday becomes aware of her fan following at Yelp!

Then, I met the NP and it all went downhill from there. The NP has terrible bedside manner. I was met with a judging demeanor and was pushed to get on birth control and not even warned with any of the side effects and she didn't really care that I wasn't interested in it. Later she called me to give me my results and her tone was almost sarcastic , it really upset me. I think NP Brianna can use some lessons on how to treat patients with respect.

Two of my kids are twins and we went through some fairly intense issues. Through all of this, the entire Commonwealth team was amazing! Not once did I feel not properly taken care of or treated less than with exceeding warmth and care. With the twins, I had a procedure scheduled, but my husband had to take one of my other kids to the ER, so I was on my own and scared witless. Dr Leigh, heavily pregnant herself, and in between deliveries on the wards, held my hand through the whole thing. I can't say enough good things about the whole crew at Commonwealth OB-GYN.

What that means is that instead of having your entire visit covered by your insurance in full, your visit ($595.00) will be subject to deductible. We received a bill for $342.24 after insurance paid plus another $100 for labs because now even the pap testing isn't covered because of the way it's coded/billed. Nothing different was done during this visit that wouldn't be done at any routine pap smear. This is just a money maker for the office and a HUGE scam. This was my 22 year old daughter's first pap smear. Our PCP (male) gave her this doctor's name to get her pap done because she was uncomfortable having it done by a man. Now she's saying she's just not going to have pap smears done anymore. This is a policy that MUST change. Women should not be treated this way. Shame on this office. Shame on UMASS. This overcharging it why we pay so much for insurance.

I came here following Yelp advice. I got to say I was…read moredisappointed. Here is why: 1. The doctor spent a total of 5 minutes in the room with me. I felt like she was in a rush to go somewhere else. I felt like she was judgmental when I answered some of her questions and she scolded me. I do not go to the OBGYN to be patronized. I also felt like she refused to answer some of my questions. 2. My pap test was sent to a lab that was not in network with my insurance company resulting in me having to pay for a test that should be covered 100% . I am still fighting this with my insurance company and hope for a good outcome. However, I had NEVER had another doctor send my tests to a lab that is not covered by my insurance and I have had the same insurance for years. If the doctor is taking my insurance, shouldn't she make sure to send the tests to a similar facility? I was never asked if I had any preference on the lab handling my tests. 3. My prescription was incorrectly sent to my pharmacy. This would not be a big deal but my pharmacy is kind of retarded (Express Scripts) and sent the incorrect prescription to me immediately without me having the chance to verify it. The incorrect dosage caused me to end up paying 3 times as much for my medication. In order to correct it, I had to call the doctor's office 2 times to ask them to re submit the prescription. The first lady that I talked to was really mean and refused to send the prescription to me directly, it was not until I called again one week later and talked to someone else that my problem was resolved. Still, I did not need to wait two weeks and spend time making calls back and forth between pharmacy and doctor's office. 4. No parking Validation, I would assume that the office would have some kind of deal with the building but no, 6 dollar parking every time I don't think I am going back to this practice next year. I have had much better experiences elsewhere and I am tempted to make the trip back to Virginia to see my old doctor next year.

I have been extremely lucky to see Dr. Pearson since 2019. After exhausting all option in my home…read morecountry I came across to Boston. After being misdiagnosed and mistreated for several years when I saw Dr. Pearson I immediately felt I was safe. She instantly knew exactly what was happening and was able to give multiple treatment options to progress forward. We started with the least impactful to much more intense hormonal treatments. She has been there through each of my areas of my health and is a personable, caring and extremely compassionate Dr. She has excellent bed-side manner which you don't always find these days. I appreciate her detailed notes and keeping track of all of my medical problems. She gave me extreme support in my hormonal treatment including helping me through IVF and back into a menopausal state. Her expertise is excellent in women's health and she leaves any ego at the door. If she can't find the answer she goes on to her resources through different people spanning from MGH to BWH to McLean and more to make sure she can help you the most. I am extremely appreciative and grateful to have her as a Dr. and recommend her to others looking for a compassionate and caring women's health doctor and psychiatrist.

However, i am safely relocated and free of everything that happened, so in that light I am writing this to warn others..... It's funny how "nice" these people seem at first. After convening with others who knew Dr. P (which I called her rather affectionately for years, oddly enough) I know now I am not alone. When I first met her I found her way too abrupt, but otherwise she seemed nice enough. I noted her clipped manner on the phone (I timed her calls at 15 seconds average), which was super annoying but I put up with that, too. She invariably told me to "take a PRN" and hung up. Care, if you could call it that, got notably worse after Pearson left McLean and I saw her at the Wang 815 clinic (oh, the memories of that place!). She took fastidious notes, even quoting what I said. Then maybe six months later, or so, she'd take those notes out and quote me completely out of context to prove her point, or hold something against me. I could have sued for irresponsible drugging over the years. The list is so lengthy I don't want to bore you all with the technicalities too much. She stood by and did nothing when I gained 110 pounds from Seroquel, 600, then 900 mgs. She urged me to "diet and exercise." I went to the gym as she told me but due to rapid weight gain my knee gave out and I ended up in a wheelchair. I kept gaining till I got off the stuff. I have never been psychotic and I have never been manic. "Happy" is not manic. Being excited about life isn't mania. Pacing, which is a side effect of drugs, is not mania. I was never bipolar. Actually, what happened was that my normal mood were pathologized over a period of decades. I was given three antipsychotics, all at the highest possible dose, plus three mood stabilizers, plus more. This was questioned by other professionals, too, but like a good patient I was I worshipped Dr. P. In my eyes must have been right. I had some serious side effects from the drugs which were commonly known adverse effects. Of course, the weight gain (she denied this). Another side effect I had was double vision. She had me on an unheard-of dose of Lamictal, 600 a day, and, I must say, very dangerous. She insisted if I didn't take it I'd become "unstable." Here's what happened....She denied that that the double vision was even possible! Then, one day, finally, my body couldn't take it anymore. I guess the stuff got toxic in my system. I literally collapsed and couldn't get off the floor! I lay there, knowing I'd only get told I was faking it should I call 911. I waited it out, then thankfully I was able to identify Lamictal as the problem, and stopped it. The funniest thing was in 2011 I was given Trileptal, which caused the very common side effect of "swaying" on my feet. This is from ataxia, which is one of the most common adverse effects. Also, I was mentally confused from the drug. I was stupid enough to think the confusion was "illness." Oh, hindsight..... I was shocked that again, Pearson denied that it was even possible that ataxia was a side effect! When I told her I wanted to stop the drug or lower it....(please laugh)....she told me "You can't do that! You'll become unstable!" I stopped the Trileptal and was far more stable on my feet. Thanks, psychiatry!!!! In 2008 I had to fire a psychotherapist I was seeing in Cambridge for multiple ethical violations. After much consideration, I realized I had to end it. However, when this got back to Dr. P, she was furious at me for firing the therapist. One evening, during all this ridiculousness, the crisis team was at my house and Pearson called me and yelled at me over the phone so loudly and with such venom that the crisis team heard the whole thing through my landline. They were shocked. I recall one person said, "Oh my god, that's your psychiatrist?" Why was I so stupid to keep seeing her? Probably because I just didn't know any better. Or couldn't think of anything else to do. In 2010 i ended up with a narcissistic therapist and went through hell with her. I was put into Massachusetts General Hospital where, for the first time in my life, I was so badly abused that I had a trauma reaction. They had deprived me of water. I have DI (diabetes insipidus) from lithium. If you deny fluids to a person with DI they can die of dehydration!!!! They treated me like an animal. She called me psychotic and delusional when all I was trying to do was tell her I had been abused. I believe Dr. Pearson was required by mandatory reporting laws to DO SOMETHING and not assume her patients are delusional. I wish I had sued. I've been told I could have phoned the police on her and the others who claimed I was a nutcase. By the way, I relocated, ditched the diagnoses, totally recovered from ED and have a great life now.
