I think of all the things I would never ever want to buy and fill my house with. While the main house of The Weed Lady is technically a gift shop, it couldn't be further from the cheap, overpriced connotations mentioned above. They set the atmosphere in the entryway, with an assortment of tea, coffee, and cookies to enjoy while you browse (edit: this may only be present during Christmas shopping season. Still, a nice touch!). It's obvious that every item in this shop has been deliberately chosen by the owner, and each one uniquely captures the natural environment. Cedar and sage scented candles, stone vases, tempered votives, long-stemmed glassware, handmade soaps... you could spend hours looking at all of the ornaments and decorations on display. Gorgeous, inviting, warm.. it doesn't even begin to describe the atmosphere that they have created in the 3 main rooms of the house. The Weed Lady is also a florist, with quite a large greenhouse in the back. Will definitely have to do more exploring here during the summer. The prices are a bit high, but also fair when considering you're paying for unique, quality products and excellent, knowledgeable service. I think my mother-in-law personally sold about 30 of those things cuz she told everyone she knows about them. I bought a couple too and they're fabulous because you can use them to seal just about any bowl! This shop carries both beautiful and unique home items along with just about every kitchen gadget you can think of. And their service is unbelievable. Every time I go in there, and my most recent visit was no exception, the staff ALWAYS helps me above and beyond the call of duty. And that's pretty amazing considering that the place is always busy! Only thing I think might bother some people is that the pricing is not discounted. And yet, I personally go out of my way to purchase things here because I like having this store in our community. Oh, this year they had something called 5th Saturday (or something like that) and for any month that had a 5th Saturday, you could go in on that day and fill a bag (that they give you) with things that are then discounted by I think 20%, but I'm not certain. My point is that they are trying to find ways to offer opportunities to reward their good customers and I love that too! I'll be going again soon because they sell beautiful candles and I need one for the kitchen!

Sets the tone for the shop perfectly. For the holidays they had some really love displays featuring bottle brush trees, locally made ornaments (which looked like they were perhaps from Pewabic and Motawi Tile, though I may be wrong), other bits of Christmas decor as well as unique gifts like craft sets, textiles, some stationary/cards, etc. They also carry some really lovely baby gifts, some kitchen-y things, candles, glassware, home decor, bath and body care, seasonal goodies, houseplants and planters, and more. I loved browsing everything they carried and in the end I walked out with a few purchases, including one of the beautiful Christmas trees and a beautiful embroidery kit of peonies and other flowers as a gift for my aunt. My only wish is that I lived closer so I could come by more often. I highly recommend popping in whether your in town or you make a dedicated trip to purchase a gift for someone.
